3rd Class In for a 3 Month Old Puppy... Wow Watch Out!…read more We started off at Canis, and it was truly awesome. Unfortunately, after a few sessions, the co-owner, Derrick, messaged me through their chat platform to say that our puppy had been making noise in her crate that day. This was a one-off situation -- she'd had some stomach issues in the days prior -- but he warned that if it happened two more times, she would be removed from the program. I understand it's their program and their rules, but his communication style was extremely direct -- almost as if he were speaking to a dog -- harsh and matter-of-fact. He told me that how I receive and perceive his messages is "on me." Talk about customer-oriented! If he ever took a class on people or management, he might learn that there's an old saying: perception is reality. I also had a few billing questions, and since texts weren't resolving the issue, I asked multiple times for him to call me, which he eventually did. From the start of that call, he was defensive and completely closed to any feedback about his communication style. I was honestly shocked at how the conversation unfolded and even asked if he was the owner or manager. Despite all this, I genuinely wanted to continue working with them. In short, they removed us from the program the very next day and promptly refunded our fees. My advice: don't offer him any feedback -- he doesn't take it well. It's a real shame, because the staff at Canis are wonderful, and the facility and programs themselves are truly impressive. We had been raving fans and recommended them to everyone, so this turned out to be a very disappointing experience.

Canis Mountain Dog Training is so great in many ways but they offer a membership package which…read moreincludes weekly group walks! Not only does my dog, Timber enjoy the exposure to other dogs but I've been making great friends along the way! And on days like today when Timber has trouble controlling his big dog energy, Bee and Derrick are so patient and helpful. They provide clear instructions and help us, as pet parents, expose our beloved dogs to a variety of new places and people. The group walks are in different locations each week and it's easy to sign up and find the locations in the CMDT member portal. I'm so happy that Timber and I have found this credible community. All week we look forward to Saturday mornings!

This place only cares about collecting your money. We paid for a 5 week training for our 1.5 yo pup…read morefor $1600 x4 /week - approx $80/day. After the 2nd day I asked how the training was going and Sergio told me that they "wouldn't begin training until the 2nd week bc the first week is just to get the dog acclimated". After day 3 we pulled our dog from their program. She was dehydrated after each day there and on day 3 she came out looking soaked and Sergio told me "she had played in the snow". When she hopped in my car, her paws were disgustingly muddy and she smelled horrid. I brought her home and bathed her and she had a huge gash on her nose. When my husband called to let Sergio know we were pulling her and that we were happy to pay for the 3 days but wanted a refund for the rest, Sergio told him that those 3 days were $125/each bc they had done such intensive training each day. I reached out to see what training was completed w our pup since I was told nothing was done but nobody got back to me. Highly do NOT recommend.
