I came here with friends to watch Rayuela Hacia EL Mas Alla. It was all in Spanish, but for those like me that only have 2 years of high school Spanish, there were subtitles projected on the top of the stage. The play was a dark comedy with a little bit of everything. It had humor, drama, terror, a love story and a "non-hollywood ending." Going in with an open mind and not knowing what the play was about, I was blown away. Parts of the play made me think of Guillermo Del Toros Pans Labyrinth and Kurt Vonnegut from my AP English class in high school. With its morbid beauty and dystopian setting. It amazed me how such a large story could be played out on such a small stage with just a few actors through the use of lighting, minimal props, and and the expression of those actors. Kudos to Laura Santa Cruz and Manuel Chitay for a wonderful performance. It was very creative how they used the same projector to animate the clocks and show the passage of time. As well as (not to give anything away) execute certain scenes. This play is very unique in the sense that every few weeks they change the ending and have a different actress. Which not only brings a different take on the story but keeps you coming back for more.

Originally opening in 1926 as Hollywood's largest legitimate theater, it has hosted everything from Broadway productions to iconic film premieres, including Citizen Kane. After a meticulous restoration led by The Walt Disney Company, the theater reopened in 1991 and has since become Disney's flagship theater on Hollywood Boulevard. Today, it serves as Disney's home for world premieres, special events, live stage shows, and screenings of both new releases and beloved classics. The theater's stunning architecture and historic significance even earned it Los Angeles Historic-Cultural Monument status. I have seen countless Disney films here over the years and every visit feels special. The atmosphere, the themed displays, and the beautifully restored interior make it feel much more memorable than a typical movie theater outing. Another bonus is the convenient parking. You can park directly across the street at Ovation Hollywood and with validation from the theater, parking is just $3 for up to four hours. Whether you are a Disney enthusiast, a movie lover, or simply appreciate Hollywood history, the El Capitan Theatre is a true Los Angeles gem and well worth a visit.

They have about 4 or 5 performances throughout the day but my advice is to get there early if you want a good seat. If the show has a start time of 1PM we would typically start waiting in line at around 12PM. Even then you probably won't be the first people in line but you will still get a good seat. Once the line starts getting long they start making people go up the ramp and start making line up there. Be aware if you start going up your whole party must be with you as they will not let anyone go up that is left downstairs. Be aware that in this are you must fill in all the empty space. People do try to cut to get to the front so just be aware of that. Once they open the doors you enter from all the way up top unless you are handicapped then you are let in downstairs. You can choose to sit up top which is still a nice view but if you want to be up close you will need to make your way down all the stairs to make it to the front. As far as the show for the 2024 season they did change it up and make a just a little bit more modern which I loved. The performers all did an amazing job and of course we all love seeing the peanuts characters perform on ice. It was a great show and I hope they keep it the same next year or if they do change it I hope it is for the better. I do miss the summer show that they used to put on in this theatre. I'm not sure why they got rid of it but I hope they bring it back one day. If you come here during the holidays this is a must see show for all ages.

I prefer the Snoopy on Ice versus Beach Blanket Beagle, but both shows are pretty good and entertaining. They do sell show light up neon sticks which can interfere with your eyes as well. I will not review the show itself, but the best seat is up in front 2nd row in the middle as you can see everything. I never sat up in front for Beach Blanket Beagle though. They also have events there as well as I remember in high school the award ceremony was there. Oh yes no eating or drinking during the show and make sure your entire party is there.

We received feedback from a lot of guests and most of them (if not all) mentioned how the lion dance was one of their favorite parts of the night. COVID-19: Social distancing is not enforced at this event. Some of the staff wears a mask. All…read morevisitors are not expected to wear a mask. It's optional now. There are some hand sanitizers available for visitors to use. This place is open and available with no limited capacity. They are not sanitizing in between visitors. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This event currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here several months ago, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their event UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty massive. When you enter the grounds, turn left. There you will be directed to pay for parking ($15 for regular cars - general parking, $30 for VIP parking, $23 for RVs and limos, and $38 for buses) and where to park. As mentioned by my excellent buddy, Justin, parking for handicapped individuals freaking suck. Whoever organized this event sucks. Handicapped parking is in lot 3, which is hella far away from the event. You would think it would be much closer to the event, but noooooo. Some idiot organized it to be like this. Why?!?! Please make the entrance closer to the handicapped parking lot in the future. That would make a lot of sense. They take cash and credit cards. Event: The festival offers immersive 14 - 17 century Elizabethan-era entertainment, jousting tournaments, artisanal shopping, and medieval food like turkey legs. The event itself was very fun and entertaining. I had a great time with my close friend. I highly encourage anyone who attends to dress up. If you don't, you will stick out like a very sore and ugly thumb. If you do dress up, costume weapons must be sheathed and peace tied. Also, wear comfy shoes. There is soooooo much walking. It's also hella dusty at this event, which is lowkey on point with ye - old England. To add on, when Justin and I attended this event in mid May, the weather was soooo on point because it was gloomy and overcast. This is exactly how I imagined old timey England during the renaissance. You can absolutely bring food and drinks into the event, but they cannot be picnic food, food that requires heating or refrigeration, alcohol, anything in glass containers, and coolers. You can bring water, but it cannot be opened yet. Or you can bring an empty reusable water bottle for it to be filled up at the event. There are plenty of bathrooms (porta potties and hand washing stations) at this event. Note: While at the event, we didn't see any refillable water bottle stations. Where were they hiding? Food: My bestie and I got the tri tip sandwich and french fries. Honestly, coming into this event, I already knew that the food was gonna be mid. Lmao I had low expectations for the food because I wasn't really there for the food. Plus, I guess this was also kinda lowkey on point with the renaissance era in England because food in that time period was also mid. Lol I was primarily there for the medieval vibes and jousting, which delivered in spades. I would honestly go every year just for the medieval vibes and jousting. Screw the food there. Anyways, the tri tip sandwich was overly priced with a meager amount of meat in the sandwich in a sad ass hot dog bun. It was more of a sad- wich. This is why I removed one star. Flavor wise, it was okay. My friend knows that I'm not the biggest fan of anything BBQ, but I'll eat it anyways. The fries that we got were plentiful for the price point and it was very crunchy. I was disappointed when it wasn't really salted, which made it taste bland TBH. I should also note that the tri tip sandwich and fries were cold by the time we sat down and ate them because we spent like 10 - 15 minutes walking around and finding a place to eat. Don't be like us. Eat your food while it's hot. Staff: The staff here are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They accept both cash and credit cards. There is no credit card minimum. Still, cash is king at this event. Many vendors only take cash, so bring at least $100 per person.
