Toasted White chocolate fondue with sea salt, buckwheat biscotti and sherry-poached pears

The tasting menu on Valentine's Day was phenomenal, and felt like a great deal. They include a 22% service fee in order to provide a $25/hr minimum wage and free healthcare. I absolutely support that. My favorite dish was the trout kiev with lemon butter and dill, parsnip purée and sautéed dill and scallions. Very unique flavors. They have a non-alcoholic wine that we tried in Slovenia and it brought us back to our experience at Strelec. It's a cozy environment with an amazing bar (the lighting is unique) and an upstairs area that is more lounge-y. Worth a visit. Didn't drink any cocktails, but the menu is intimidating and varied.

Great date night spot with $1 oysters happy hour and tasty ice box martinis made with their own horseradish vodka. We had the fried chicken skin caviar dish. There were 5 amazing bites that were delicious but at $85 for the plate it had better be. Lastly the cheese and cherry dumplings were my favorite. Cherry is seriously good and not to miss. Overall great ambiance, service, and easy parking.

Great meal at Fabrika. Kachka is awesome and this newest Bonnie Morales spot might be better. Great speakeasy ambience and many highlights. We had the trout caviar with a sublime chive dip served on potato chips. Killer with a good martini or their over the top Vodka menu. Also had stuffed squid, the great pork pelmeni dumplings and perfect rye bread with dulse smetana seafood butter. Fantastic!

Beautiful and very sexy restaurant. It's one of those places you want to just hang out for the ambiance. The food is outstanding being from Kachka. I would call this precision seafood. All the dishes were excellent and beautifully presented. Tables are somewhat narrow which makes it a little difficult balancing more than a couple items. We had the HH oysters, can you beat $1 an oyster? They accidentally ordered us a cold smoked salmon tartar which was a happy accident because it was delicious. Comes with toasted thin bagels. The scallop crudo was a little too sweet for my taste but still fresh and enjoyable. We also had smoked trout roe with chips. If i could eat a bowl of this, i probably would. Lastly, the martinis. Two of them are HH prices and made it too easy to order more than one. The service was top notch, friendly and fast. Seating is limited, small restaurant. I recommend reservations. You will spend a pretty penny here but enjoy your time and food!

Dogwood is honestly the best of both worlds: flowers and wine. What more could a girl want?…read more Part stem bar, part wine bar. It's such a girly spot - grab a glass of wine, pick out a few stems, and catch up with your girlfriends for an hour or two. The space feels thoughtful, welcoming, and just plain cute. Portland has plenty of wine bars and plenty of flower shops, but not many that combine the two so seamlessly.

The ambiance is very sweet - light and airy space with lots of outdoor seating (parklet) which is so nice for a warm Portland afternoon. The gentleman behind the counter was pretty aloof and didn't offer any help while we were looking at the wines. The per-glass prices were on the high end - although likely typical for a contemporary Portland wine bar, we opted for a bottle. Surprise! A $20 corkage fee was added to our bill. Nowhere was this written, mentioned, or warned, so our nice affordable bottle of Croatian orange doubled in price. It seems like a pretty exorbitant fee just to enjoy the wine we just bought from your shop on your premises. The shop also didn't seem to have any ice buckets or quick-chill options, so we had to drink our wine at room temperature. For a wine bar that sells bottles, charges a $20 corkage fee, going into summer, not to have chilled bottles or ice buckets available is wild. We had to leave the wine in the fridge behind the counter to chill, and then go back inside for a refill each time we wanted more wine. The server didn't even come out to check on us or refill our glasses. And you grab your own water and bus your own table. Basically the corkage fee grants you the privilege to sit at one of their tables and nothing else. No service or amenities to speak of. I might pop in to pick up a bottle if I'm in the area, as the selection is good and reasonably priced, but I doubt I'll sit down for a drink again. There are plenty of cute spots around where I'm not charged $20 just to drink my beverage onsite.

Date Night in Portland…read more Dame is a beautiful restaurant. We went here for dinner and it definitely felt like somewhere fancy that we try out if we were in SF. Mid Century Modern kinda feel to the inside which is right up my girls alley. The people who work here are super friendly and professional. When we got there we were greeted and sat right away since we had a reservation. I love trying something a little different. I've never had Carpaccio before and now after trying it at Dame, I'm totally a fan. Light texture but deep flavors due to the shaved fois gras and capers. The Focaccia was really good too. I gravitate to anything that has fennel in it so I might be a little biased. That and love bread just as much as I love potatoes. Potatoes are life after all. Heh When we went we ordered the Late Summer Risotto and the Pork Chop. I admittedly liked my girls dish just a little more than mine. It was super fally. Even though it didn't have any meat, I really enjoyed all the veggies bouncing off eachother in this pasta. I feel like some people think Risotto can get boring sometimes. A lot of times we see the same ole Mushroom Risotto a thousand times. Or maybe it's just a basic one paired with some other dish. I really like that Dame's had a lot of fun things going on within it. That being said don't get it twisted. The Pork Chop was still fire. I love the tenderness and flavors just on its own. I've never been a big polenta guy but Dame's again made me rethink my humanity. It was so creamy. What a nice alternative to the usual mashed potatoes. Salsa Verde is also a big go to when I eat Mexican Food so, paired with everything else we were definitely grubbin. Everything we had is flawless and it just makes it hard for me because pretty much every place we went to in Portland had great food. I can't wait to come back during a different season to try some more tasty meals here!

Highlights; carrot hollandaise served with broccoli, nettle risotto & the rhubarb cocktail. Only critique was the Lions mane mushroom entree was difficult to cut and eat. My dinner date was put off by the mass & texture of it. Perhaps cut in strips & prepared in the style of Trippa alla fiorentina could make this ingredient amazing. Overall great night.

We ordered five items to share. We had to take leftovers home, so I would say 4 dishes for three people would've been better. But it was just really hard to choose because everything looked amazing. My favorite items by far were the Chantelle chowder and the watermelon radishes. The tortellini soup reminded me of a Ramen broth, but with tortellini in it instead of Ramen noodles. The table next to me ordered the kimchi and chips, and I wish I had ordered it, but usually kimchi is too spicy for me so that's why I didn't. I think they even ferment the kimchi there. I'll definitely order that when I go back. My least favorite item was the barbecue tempeh, and that was mainly because of the soft consistency of the tempeh. But the celery root mash that came with it was delicious. The service was exceptional. The bathrooms were clean and nice. And I highly recommend this place and will definitely be going back.
