This review is for the RUM CAKE WITH TAMARIND DRIZZLE. okay yall this thing changed my life because I make homemade cakes and you can tell this thing was a work of art. Mouthgasm is real. The Ice cream was perhaps a tad too creamy for my liking but the cake is the thing to get. I also had a couple cocktails which were nice. I forgot the names bc the cake sent me to heaven and took me a while to come back.

Great spot when you're in the mood for Rum or simply a cool spot for a great drink. Cozy and edgy. Masters of their craft. I loved this place the first time I tried it several years ago. Have been a great fan ever since. Got nostalgic tonight after a nice dinner up on Belmont and walked a mile across town to visit again. It was well worth the walk (and the walk was great too!).

These people love people, they love rum and they love to love people by serving them rum!! There are not enough words to describe how kind and welcoming the staff were, they truly exemplify excellent service. The rum list is extensive, with bottles stacked three deep and running tall enough that part of the entertainment is watching the bartenders attempt to reach them all Their daiquiri has a unique and tasty twist, and be sure to check out the seasonal drink specials. The food menu has a lil something for everyone, something to keep things balanced while you enjoy all the rum

It's dark but that's the vibe (sorry the drink pics are not ideal). Good bartenders, low key spot but always comfortably hoppin' when I go (never been on a weekend).

This place is awesome, the music, the people and it's very clean! I got a fannypack- very tasty and balanced drink, not too sweet or sour. Our server; Jen was very friendly, and had good recommendations! Thank you rum club!

    A well balanced meal.

First time back in over five years. Enjoyed the service and chat from the owner of the bar. The rum cocktail with Amontillado and honey was refreshingly satisfying on a hot day. The special - a shrimp asparagus mix - served with homemade chips - was a hit. The rum cake was meh, but I definitely connected with the ice cream. Still a great bar and vibe.

Cute little place with excellent drinks, excellent food and excellent service. Do yourself a favor and have the rum punch at least once. We had the potstickers that appeared and tasted like they were house made. Excellent quality. I was impressed

Order: Pedro Martínez- RC Rum, Torino Vermouth, Maraschino, orange & falernum bitters, lemon oil w/ big cube. Daiquiri. Pros: love the ambiance! Its dim lights with great music. The Pedro is really really good! Pretty smooth and you taste all the flavors not super sweet and not super bitter! The musicccccc is everything! Cons: parties of 5 they charge 20% gratuity and split the checks 3 ways only (not a fan). I'll take the 20% gratuity but damn let me pay for my own check.

Love this place. It's perfect for the winter. It is warm and cozy on the inside and they have a variety of warm drinks that are delicious. Our service was fast even though the bar was busy and the bartenders were very kind. We got some homemade chex mix too which I think was a nice touch. I'm looking forward to coming back!

Rum lovers dream! The music was great, the bartender was amazing and the drinks she made 10/10. This little hidden gem is the spot to congregate with friends after a long day. It's dark and moody, a whole vibe!

Cute small bar. Indoor and outdoor seating. They also have food, like appetizer food (American and Asian) and their rum cake. But the cake was a bit dry. Nice staff.

Very cool, chill, and mellow. The name "Rum Club" is perfect for the description. For a Sunday at 5pm it's just the perfect chill, lively spot. Servers/Bartenders came when we needed them but they weren't smothering by talking our ear off. We didn't end up getting any food but totally okay!

I can't believe I have not been to the Rum Club until now! Really cute and tiny cozy cocktail bar with friendly staff. We went specifically to try their famous Hot Buttered Rum for the Christmas holiday. It was delicious. The cocktail is served perfectly warm with Jamaican rum blend, butter, sugar, bitters and winter spices. I absolutely loved the smooth buttery flavor. It was easy to drink. I found the flavor familiar with a touch of uniqueness. We also tried their Deviled Eggs -pomegranate beet pickled eggs with horseradish sorfrito and herbs. These very red deviled eggs are delicious and perfect to share, qty 4. We will go back for happy hour!

To speak about Teardrop Lounge, I should probably start with this:…read more Ladies and gentlemen, I present my favorite cocktail bar. Not the best -- I'm not arrogant enough to claim that. I haven't been to every cocktail bar in Portland, and saying something is the best usually says more about your lack of experience than your conviction. But favorite? That I can stand behind. And I want to get that out of the way early, because of the amount of praise I'm about to pour on this place -- fully earned, completely intentional. The biggest crime here is that I only discovered it two weeks ago, after living in Portland for a year. It had been recommended to me countless times, and I ignored it. A mistake. A painful one. But now that I've found it, I don't plan on making that mistake again. I'm not typically an Old Fashioned drinker. In fact, I usually hate them. But somewhere between curiosity and too many episodes of Mad Men, I decided to try one anyway -- fully expecting to confirm my bias. Instead, it completely flipped me. Bright, almost citrus-forward in a way that felt unusual but entirely intentional. Balanced, smooth, just enough burn to remind you what you're drinking without overwhelming it. It was the first time I actually understood the appeal. I'm pretty sure I grew a few chest hairs that night. That alone would've been impressive. But it didn't stop there. The space is beautiful -- clean, intentional, but not cold. The staff are excellent: personable, engaged, and most importantly, authentic. Not scripted, not performative. The kind of people you actually want to talk to, and hopefully, eventually be on a first-name basis with. Now, all of that gets it close to a perfect score. But what pushes it over the edge -- what makes this place stick -- is the White Russian. One of the first drinks I ever had. My dad's drink. Not because of The Big Lebowski -- that came later -- but because it's just always been his thing. And at some point, it became mine too. Typically, when bars try to "elevate" a White Russian, they ruin it. They overthink it. Swap ingredients, tweak ratios, add unnecessary flair. And more often than not, it ends in disappointment. Teardrop does the opposite. They respect it -- but refine it. The coffee liqueur actually tastes like coffee. The heavy cream is properly integrated, not just dumped on top. The vodka -- whatever they're using -- is clean, present, and perfectly measured. There's a subtle complexity to it without losing what makes the drink what it is. It's the best White Russian I've ever had. No hesitation. I've gone back twice just to make sure it wasn't a fluke. It wasn't. If someone asked me what my death row drink would be -- this specific cocktail, from this specific bar, is in the conversation. Easily. Teardrop Lounge doesn't just make great cocktails. It reminds you why cocktails matter in the first place. And that's why it's my favorite.

One of the best parts was how approachable the bartenders were. We asked for custom drinks based on our preferences, and both came out perfectly tailored. Creative without being weird, and strong without being sloppy. What really stood out was the price point. For the quality of cocktails, the prices felt very reasonable compared to similar craft cocktail bars in other cities. The vibe was also great -- relaxed, cozy, and not pretentious. It felt like a place where you could come for a special drink experience without feeling like you had to "perform" or order off a rigid menu. We liked it so much we actually came back a second time during our trip. Highly recommend if you're into well-crafted cocktails, friendly bartenders, and a laid-back but elevated atmosphere.

Thankfully, the timing worked out where when our friends arrived we were able to be seated fairly quickly so we lucked out. They will not seat you until your entire party is there which I appreciate. The decor is what you would expect it to be with tiki style furnishings all around and a soundtrack to accompany the vibes. Once you walk in and shut the door behind you, it's almost a given that you'll forget the time of day because the entire place is windowless. Another cool feature if you ask me. I have to say when looking around I kept contemplating the fact that someone walked in here and said "yeah, this will make a great tiki lounge". Regardless, they were right! The food was actually delicious. I had the cuban sandwich and the hawaiian bread.
