One word to describe the experience here: SHAMEFUL Unfortunately, 0 stars are not an option for reviews. DO NOT COME HERE!!! DO NOT BOOK ANY CATERING EVENTS HERE! The owner and manager knowingly triple booked the space and refused to do the right thing. A contract was signed two months ago for a high school graduation dinner for 50 people; two days before the event when the owner was aware there was conflict, he asked if my cousin could push back her event 'til 7pm. After speaking to the other two event coordinators, I was told that their events were only scheduled and booked by the owner Two weeks ago (both the baby shower and a health event). Again, the owner knew this was the case and did not make himself present or discuss the situation with my cousin or the health coordinator his mistake. The baby shower which was booked two weeks ago was scheduled from 2-8pm; and the health event was scheduled from 5-9. Upon the arrival of our family, we were flabbergasted by the fact that not only was the first event still taking place, but it was not scheduled to end until 8pm. Despite knowing all of this the owner still requested all parties to remit full payment though he knew he was already in breach of his contract with my cousin. Tonight, not only did he make himself unavailable or be present to diffuse the situation; he also had no managers on hand to troubleshoot the situation. Several calls to the owner went unanswered. He finally had a young staff member relay a message that he will call my cousin (several hours after this event was supposed to start) to "see what he can do". Over an hour later and he never responded. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. Spare yourself the headache and frustration. Do not come here. Final time of space availability after set-up was 9pm - followed by the serving of tepid/borderline cold food. read more

I thought that since my mother is Haitian and my sister is Haitian American, this would be a nice place to take them for Mother's Day. I made reservations for 6:30 PM for five (5) adults. I knew it was not meant to be as soon as we walked in. We arrived at 6:45 PM and was told they would have to find us a table (there were several empty tables that were large enough to accommodate). We stood for 7 minutes before a gentleman came and sat us down. The table was bare, the only thing on the table was table cloth. It took approximately 25 minutes for someone to come and take our order. I didn't know that they had a live band and it was too loud for such a small place. The Menu had a fix price for $65 per person. The person who finally came to take orders sat at our table and cross of many items that were not available. It took another half an hour for someone to come place water at the table and gave us eating utensils. According to the menu, each of us would start our meal with a salad. The salad never came. We asked for a drink menu, we were told that they had nothing really to drink. We each order an appetizer from the menu, they brought us one plate with items on it. Mistakes were made in everything that we ordered to eat and others near us had the same issue. The original server that took all the food orders never came back to our table. The service was horrible. This was an embarrassing Mother's Day dinner. At the end, they presented me with a bill for $458. I will never return and I suggest that if any of you are considering going to this restaurant, don't bother. I would have been better off going to order food at Kal's Bakery & Restaurant and go home to eat. It would have cost me $17-$30 and would not have spent 3 hours being frustrated and embarrassed to have taken my mother, sister and other family members there. read more

The food is excellent. Let's start with that positive. The akra was seasoned well, and the wings fried very crispy. Those were the only 2 options of appetizers on the mandatory pre fix weekend menu at night once the dj is playing ?? Wasn't really sure about why they did it like that. However I ordered the Tassot kabrit (goat) it was fried but tender and juicy, served with black rice (mushroom rice), fried green plantain, and a delectable gravy. My friend ordered lambi en sauce (conch) she paired it with some of the creamiest mac and cheese. The rum punch was our cocktail of the night it's the only mixed drink they have nice and strong. They do have a bar. The interior is ok kinda set up to look like a banquet. The service is lacking. It was only one woman who was extremely sweet. She wasn't even our server, lol. Our server always seemed as though we were bothering her . The music was good, a mix of creole tunes. Then a live singer came on stage with his guitar and switched between English pop , r&b and love songs and then he sang it in creole/French. That was extremely nice. It is Mother's Day, and I was surprised with a celebratory dinner. I meant to visit Kache months ago, and we wanted to support the Haitian community. Unfortunately, the entire experience was a complete disappointment. There was no hostess. Soon as we walked in, we were met with tables that had not yet been cleared. The DJ was too loud, so forget about conversing with your dinner party. It was a prix fixe menu, yet my appetizer options differed from my guests. We never received our wings and were never informed that they had run out. Although I liked my red snapper, the rest of the food we ate was subpar. Our server did her best with little support and adjusted our bill in response to the missing orders and long wait times. They need more staff and better quality control with their food. Ironically, my experience was the same as other Yelpers from 1-2 years ago. The service may be a tad better on an ordinary day, but I do not plan to make another trip to find out. read more

My family attended a repass here 2 weeks ago. They catered the food. It was pleasant I enjoyed the macaroni, salad, turkey and chicken. Ambiance was nice. Orange decor inside and a nice looking bar. I think they have outdoor but it wasn't open for this private event. I wonder if they have good parties. I would return for sure. read more

Their customer service is getting better in terms of pickup orders. I used to place orders and when I get there, all I hear is we don't have enough people. It will be another 30 minutes wait. I enjoy coming here with my family. I usually get the fried snapper with black rice and plantain...one of the best meals on the menu. The conch (not sure if I'm spelling this right) is also good. Meals always taste hot and fresh. We typically go on the weekend after 7pm and there is usually a DJ there. This is the nicest Haitian restaurant I've seen when it comes to the ambiance. It's always great when you find a place that has good food and beautiful ambiance. We always have the same waiter, forgot his name, but he's great. Sometimes when you go they're hosting an event, but don't let that stop you from going in, they will give you good service regardless. read more

The place is nice and clean. Language barrier was an issue. The young server meant $40 but $14 was understood due to accent and dialect. The food portion was good. But one major problem is the chef makes all the food TOO spicy. They need to take into consideration that children are eating this food as well and not everyone can tolerate spicy foods. May I suggest when taking someone's order they ask if they would prefer spicy mild or regular? Or give pickalies on the side with the order...then the patron has a choice. This was a horrible experience, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I was looking for a place to have my husband's retirement dinner, and when I called, the person who answered was very friendly and professional. Looking at the photos, I thought this would be a great spot, and I wanted to support my Haitian people (but once again disappointed). So I decided to take my family there for dinner. I traveled to Brooklyn from Westchester. When I got there, it took a few minutes, but a man did come to the door to sit us down. We sat in the back ,it was cold and the lighting was dim. We waited for about 15 minutes and then asked if we could get a menu. When the waitress arrived she did not ask us questions like what would you like to drink or if we would like any appetizers. She just asked us what we wanted without explaining anything to us. It wasn't clear which entrees came with rice and which did not. When we asked her she did not know and did not explain anything to us. When we saw a manager, we asked him if rice came with the entrees and he said yes. He was in a rush and did not ask which entrees we were talking about so we assumed it came with them all. We gave our orders to the waitress (two turkey in sauce, one griot, and one lambi. We did with our assumption they all came with rice. When we received our food we were not impressed. The food was horrible and dry. I ordered turkey with sauce and received fried turkey with a little cup of sauce on the side. My daughter order griot and got fried turkey. We just accepted it and did not send anything back because we already waited 45-50 mins for our food and did not want to wait any longer. The prices on the menu were not the same as what was charged. When I got the bill I notice that I was charged separately for the rice. I spoke with someone who appeared to be the manager and explained that there must be some mistake the man took the receipt and came back and said that was the right price and tried to quickly run away. He did not care to hear what I was explaining to him. I was also charged a different price than what was on the menu, not to mention we didn't get what we ordered. I gave up and just left feeling taken advantage of. There was an 18% gratuity on the bill and I was unable to choose the amount I wanted to leave for the service. She never checked on us, asked if we wanted something to drink, brought us more water, or asked about the meal. I don't understand how you can run a business that provided such poor service. I try to support all people but particularly my black people and I travel an hour and a half each way to deal with this. I love kache. The food has a lot of flavor. Me, my sister and mom came here on a Sunday night. Make sure you call because sometimes there's party nights with a fixed menu. This night the menu was open meaning their normal menu. no party but a live DJ playing Haitian music, Afrobeats and reggae was on the scene. We ordered legume , and tassot. Delish. The rice and beans kind of had a smoked burnt taste I didn't like. For apps we did akras. I think we did 4 in total. Food-Delicious red snapper and mac & cheese. They now offer chips while you wait and that was a pleasant surprise, they were delicious. Ambiance- They've expanded to include a cute outdoor area. Complete with ceiling fans, tile, windows, and plants. It's lovely I would recommend it. Service- They seemed to have opened just as we arrived around 4:30. The young man that helped us was very attentive though it seemed he was still learning the ropes. He did what he could to still make banter with us while it was obvious he was busy. Went to Kache for the 1st time with my brother . I ordered Griot and my brother ordered Tassot. Even though it's covid season , the atmosphere was very inviting ,food was absolutely delicious and the staff was very pleasant . They are following social distance procedures so everyone can feel safe. I definitely recommend this restaurant. I can't wait to go back. I decided to take my family to a Haitian restaurant for Mother's Day so we can try something different than the typical American food. What a bad idea!! Not only did they not have our reservation in the books (and I called 4 days in advance) but we waited over an hour for our food, no one greeted us when we sat down, no one gave us any menus or silverware. I had to flag someone down just so they can acknowledge us. Apparently they did not plan properly in advance for a holiday and were short staffed. They upcharged on everything because it was Mother's Day and we didn't even get exactly what we asked for (not to mention the wait was sooo damn long). This is so typical for a Haitian restaurant and I really wanted to support but we could've stayed home and cooked our own food and we would've been comfortable and full! Let me start by saying the waitress Rudy worked hard at trying to service many parties on a busy Mother's day. We were a party of 7 with a reservation that meant nothing. We were there for three hours! We waited an hour for appetizers, 45 minutes for our food and 40 minutes to eat. There was no greeters and people stood around and some left due to lack of service. The tables were overcrowded with extra glasses and plates. There was no busboy to move dishes and you could hear & see broken dishes and glass in the back near the restroom. Omg...where do I start? The customer service is horrible. They're so busy catering to carry out and private parties, there's little space and time for dine-in customers. Overcrowded and noisy (and not because of the music). When they first opened there even use to be a dance floor. That's gone. Only five entrees on the menu, each with a fixed price of $45. Very little options to choose from. We had to wait while another party that came after us was seated first just because they were a larger group. They stayed about 15 minutes and left. We should have done the same. We paid about $160 for 2 meals and 2 watered down drinks (no bread, no salad, no appetizers, and no dessert were included). Gratuity is automatic. The portions were ok and the Tassot (fried goat) was good which is the only positive thing I can say about this place. This restaurant deserves "NO STARS" whatsoever. Absolutely horrible customer service. My cousin was injured by the lack of professionalism from the staff. For one there was only one bathroom for the patrons to use. The supervisor at the time, had escorted my cousin to use the bathroom that was located downstairs. In this bathroom, my cousin became severely injured by the sheetrock that was laying on the bathroom floor. My family and I address the supervisor (a female with brown complexion and brown dyed braids) about what occurred in the bathroom with my cousin. When she was notified about the incident, she advised us that the manager is not at the restaurant and that she will supposedly call the manager. The supervisor then proceed to walk away. While walking away we proceeded to follow the supervisor. We notice the supervisor was attempting to hide inside the kitchen. One of my family members went inside the bathroom that had the sheetrock that injured my cousin. This family member moved the sheetrock out of the way to prevent another patron from getting injured. Then we proceeded to go back to the kitchen to where the supervisor was hiding and demanded to speak with the manager. After about two seconds or so, the manager appeared to speak with us about the issue at hand. Once the manager was notified about what occurred in the bathroom and the injury which resulted from the sheetrock being inside the bathroom, the manager kept putting blame on my cousin for his injury. This manager was not taking accountability for his ability to manage the facility. The manager continuously kept putting blame on my cousin and did not care that my cousin was injured due to his incompetency to manage a restaurant. There was no apology from the staff whatsoever. My cousin injury is very severe. He as a broken ankle that is swollen and he has to use crutches to go from one place to the next. As such, legal action will be taking place against this establishment. Anyone who decides to enter this place of business, be forewarn that this place does not care about their patrons and will blame everything on the customers. read more
