Problematic test results need to be delivered. If you need something time sensitive, such as a pre authorization for testing, etc, that won't happen in a timely manner. An appeal to insurance for medication, etc. The doctor's assistant will clearly tell you she's the only one doing pre authorizations, as a reason to take multiple weeks to even fill out the forms. If the doctor could get a whole new support staff it would be entirely different.

He did not try to look at me for 10 minutes and rush me out the door like all my doctors have done. I haven't had any medical insurance for a long time and at 50 years old and somehealth issues I'm way overdue for a checkup. He saw me late (a 6 p.m. appointment). I was his last patient of the day and he did not rush anything. was a patient of dr reisser for at least 20 years. totally loved him. and as a nurse and former…read moreemployee at the local hospital..ages and ages ago... i can tell you..many of my co workers spoke very highly of him and went to him. cant tell you the number of folks i knew/know when they asked me for a good doc, i told them about doc reisser. he spent tremendous amount of time listening to me. he wrote everything down so i wouldnt forget. didnt rush me out the door.. the one beef.. ok a big big beef i have.. is that he went to this VIP thing. guess it is call concierge doctor or something. you gotta pay like 1500 bucks a year to be able to see him. he was getting so super busy because everyone knew he was great. so he signed up for this thing to make things easier. man big big big bummer. i had to go to a new doc and i am not happy. nowhere near the quality i had before. if you can afford it, and live in TO area.. i highly highly reccommend doc reisser. he is the very best. if i win the lottery... i am soooo going back to him...

I went in for mild chest pressure but no other symptoms and from the nurse in the ER recognizing the urgency, the doctors recommending me to stay for observation, the nurses who revived me, the entire CCU unit - ALL FANTASTIC & AMAZING INDIVIDUALS! I was so well cared for and the attention was so incredible that I was able to focus on the fact that I had to decide to give consent to have a pacemaker implanted at my age of 53. You guys saved me and gave me years that I may not have otherwise had. A thousand thank you's is just not enough.

The staff was prompt, the noise level of the night and day shifts were acceptable, the bedside manners of everyone and I literally mean everyone was excellent. I may be a touch biased towards teaching hospitals, having started my career in an inpatient rehab hospital as well. Thank you to all the doctors and nurses that helped us! Another downside, for me, is that when they order any kind of test, the order has an expiration date in a week or two. I'm a senior, don't drive, and suffer from fibromyalgia with severe fatigue. All the orders from my independent drs are good for 6-12 mos! I'm guessing that large medical corporations serve a wider variety of clients, often across the entire country, so some are unreliable and do things without discussing with their drs, ergo the corporate CYA policies. Ok, but that's not me, and the independent drs I've always seen know that. Computers do not. I'm now 65 and the doctors I was with for 25+ years straight are retiring sadly. Or going "concierge" style. I got a phone message saying that my dr won't be in the day my next appt is set after all. AGAIN!! ! Each time it's ANOTHER 3-4 months before they can fit me in. Because of my fatigue added to being a lifelong "night owl", I can only do afternoon appts. I can't get to sleep until at least 3 am most nights. I also had to change my phone's "do not disturb" settings because UCLA calls at 7 am. All my life I have been taught it's rude to call others at home before 9 am. So I never get to talk to the office or person that called, since when I call back it's routed to that call center. Extremely impersonal. No one there has ANY medical training, not even receptionist level, all they do is look for open spaces on a computer screen. No empathy, and zero offers of any other way to schedule an appointment or ask a question- you have to push for any of that. When I use the app, I can interact directly with my dr's office, but it's still a series of steps from who reads my message, to a nurse or other medical assistant, to the dr, then back to me. This leads to very poor information sharing. I prefer a much more individualized approach.

Most of all he listens and I feel part of the "diagnostic team" as well as the team planning out course of action and medication. Many doctors review charts, graphs, reports, and a little physical evaluation, then tell you what you need to do and write scripts... He doesn't. If I feel a certain course of action is needed, we discuss it and agree on what it should be. He's careful to explain his concerns and the status of my health, when doctors in my past have not. The only slight, is that he see's lots of patients and that makes the office appt run slow. Likely a biproduct of him actually listening to me, rather than walking in with a predetermined plan of action. quite simply the best I've ever had.

My initial experience with Sam, the nurse practitioner, and the physician assistant was very pleasant. They were warm, professional, and made me feel optimistic that I had found a family practice where I could establish long-term care. Unfortunately, my experience changed after my laboratory results became available. A receptionist named Britney called me and immediately began discussing my results without first asking whether I was in a private place or prepared to receive medical information. I was at work and had to interrupt her and ask her to wait while I moved somewhere private. I had assumed she was calling only to schedule a follow-up appointment. I believe staff members discussing medical information should always confirm that the patient is able to speak privately before sharing results. When I returned for my follow-up appointment, there also appeared to be some confusion at the front desk. Although I had confirmed my appointment the previous day, the doctor stated that he had not known I was coming and had taken another patient before me. He apologized, but the delay made me late for work. Once I was called back, the process felt rushed. I was quickly directed onto the scale and then placed in a room with a medical student. I was not asked whether I was comfortable having a student participate in my appointment. The student repeatedly described my hormonal status in a way that did not match what I had previously been told, and our discussion about vitamin D supplementation felt dismissive rather than collaborative. I was also uncomfortable with the student shifting and rocking from side to side in my peripheral vision while the doctor discussed some concerning health information. That made an already stressful conversation more difficult. Later, when the doctor returned and spoke with me privately, the interaction was much more comfortable. He was pleasant, made eye contact, explained things more clearly, and ultimately did a good job addressing my concerns. I wish the receptionist had demonstrated a better understanding of patient privacy, that I had been asked for consent before a medical student joined the appointment, and that the visit had not felt so rushed. Staffing problems, scheduling confusion, and the absence of a manager may explain why the office was having a difficult day, but patients should not have to absorb the consequences. Overall, the doctor handled the appointment well toward the end, and my first visit with the other clinical staff had been positive. I spent considerable time researching family-practice physicians because I hoped to establish ongoing care here. For that reason, I am willing to give the doctor and the office another chance before deciding whether this practice is the right fit for me.
