I get a mix of dark and milk chocolate plump strawberries with white chocolate drizzled on top. They were wrapped in plastic on a silver tray and a big bow one time, and another time in an adorable pink bakery box with scalloped edges. The biens--basically cake balls--are absurdly rich and fudgey. I brought them to a party and everyone went into shock. They're unbelievable. In the store there are all kinds of fanciful, detailed, gorgeous cakes on display to show the types of cake designs available. The designs rival "the Cake Boss"--these are the Cake Queens! Along with all types of desserts and sweets, there is an area of adorable gifts. Michel Design Works brand soaps, candles and stationary are a personal favorite of mine and there are plenty in the store to choose from. Being able to pick up dessert for a party and a quick gift at the same time is wonderful. The women who own the business are lovely. They are passionate about their business and customers. When I first met Parul Patel, I was very excited for her to make a unique cupcake tower. She absolutely convinced me on the idea that I would have an amazing tower--delicious cupcakes with a beautiful setup with crystals that would make people go "Wow!" When my wedding day arrived, Parul showed up FOUR hours later than we agreed upon. My family and friends frantically tried to get in touch with her from the start of the cocktail hour, but after the initial reply that she was "stuck in traffic" she stopped answering calls altogether and kept everyone in the dark. We had to have my wedding venue put together a last minute cake (which we now have a balance for) because I didn't want to risk not having a cake cutting ceremony in case Parul did not show. When Parul finally arrived (at 9:30pm), she claimed she got pulled over. The whole incident created a scene which was embarrassing and upsetting to my family and friends. While she did put together the cupcake tower, it was different from what she promised (and not in a good way) and the tower itself was very unsturdy. What's worse is that she assured me several times that she would be on time (early if anything) and it would only require 30 minutes to assemble the tower. I understand emergency situations arise and there is nothing one can do about it, but she was very unprofessional by not informing anyone of the situation. To this day, I have not heard from her after my wedding despite attempts at e-mailing, texting and calling. I imagine she might be embarrassed by her actions, but she owes us money that I owe to the wedding venue. After months and months of stress from wedding planning, all you want to do is celebrate. Luckily my wedding was pretty seamless other than this. I didn't get to try the cupcakes on my wedding day but I have heard they were dry and not very tasty...after all that. I do not recommend.

Parul Patel aka TheCakeDesigner aka "The Cake Designer" is the worst possible option for anyone to…read moredo any business with - let alone, buy a cake or a cupcake from. Like AJ K. (review below from 10/5/2014), we were also duped into believing her hype because of her website, and media interviews. Here is a summary of our experience with the hope that no one else does any business with Parul Patel, or her company TheCakeDesigner in any shape way or form! (1) Parul sold us on the idea of buying a much bigger cake than we needed. (2) Arrived three (3) hours late to our event, without any notification, texts, emails. Did not bother to respond to our calls, or pick up any of our calls. Since we did not know if she will show up, we asked our event manager to ask the caterers to arrange for an emergency cake - which they did at a cost of $500 (less than Parul's $1,750 plus shipping and handling) (3) Arrived with a different Cake than what we had agreed upon. When confronted about this, she rudely barked at my relatives and treated them like crap. (4) The Cake was NOT SET UP and required additional 45 minutes to set up the layers/towers. Cake was NOT presentable, broken and unfinished. (5) Cake tasted like chewy sugar coated cardboard - in fact, I would rather eat a sugar coated card board over Parul's cake. (6) Without asking our permission, Parul forced our DJ to announce that the cake was from her company - almost a 1 minute commercial in front of 250 people. She also had the guts to leave her business cards all over the hall and around gift table/box. Parul never apologized, never reimbursed a single dime of our money paid to her, and never has bothered to call us back in response to multiple emails, phone calls and even a letter. We finally reached out to some of her relatives who told us that they also do not like her and that they stay away from her as she is not a nice person. We beg all of you to please stay away from Parul Patel aka TheCakeDesigner aka "The Cake Designer". She WILL RUIN YOUR EVENT!
