    Passionfruit Cheesecake with hazelnut-chocolate cakebase
    Laura L.

Very nice place to spend a foggy afternoon in Copenhagen (not only- but we did). You can even sit outside cause there are heaters and blankets. We drank hot chocolate and a Cafe Latte and had a overall delicious piece of Passionfruit Cheesecake - with hazelnut-chocolate-cakebase *yummy* and some halloween/autumn-special-cakey thing with cinnamon and apple, anyways it was delicious. The photo of the cakes is not promising to much :) And most important the waitress was really friendly and helpful! One last note: there are salty snacks to order too, like sandwiches and stuff. So every little hunger will be served ;)

Known for being the first vegan bakery in Copenhagen, Kaf was the first establishment I had to visit upon my arrival to Denmark! My husband and I shared the Kafs Brunch Deluxe, which the employee kindly let me know that we were still able to order it after noon, and I also got the varm chokolade (hot chocolate) with flødeskum (whipped cream). The hot chocolate was more warm than hot, but delicious regardless. It had a strong chocolate/cacao flavor without being overly sweet. In fact, I would've probably wanted it to be sweeter if I hadn't added the whipped cream. As for the Kafs Brunch Deluxe --which included sourdough bun with butter, cheese, homemade-nutella & jam, garnished avocado, chia yogurt with granola, berries, fresh fruit and croissant, both my non-vegan husband and I absolutely loved it and devoured the entire thing within minutes. Croissant was a bit more oily than I expected, but had the perfect crunch to each bite. Garnished avocado was super flavorful, maybe from the truffle oil that we suspect they added. Cheese felt and tasted close to an actual (non-vegan) cheese slice, with a nice, nutty aroma. But my absolute favorite was the homemade-nutella --as an ex-nutella fanatic, I hold a strict standard for "homemade" nutellas, but I must say that their version beats the original! It had a strong hazelnut flavor with just the right amount of sweetness, and to top it off, a nice crunchy texture (that probably wasn't from the nuts, but maybe cookies/chips of some sort?). The only downside was that we weren't allowed to use our laptops for work, but that seems to be a pattern over cafes in Copenhagen. I have a full list of other vegan restaurants or restaurants with vegan options that I'm planning to visit during my short stay here, but I would love to come back to Kaf to try other things on the menu, like their cakes!

Very nice cozy place. Great for breakfast with friends/family or just to have a nice time with coffee and amazing cakes.

Once we got our food, we understood why so many people come. This was without a doubt the best meal we had in Copenhagen. All the dishes were simple, elegant, and focused on the wholesome ingredients. The eggs. THE EGGS! Never would I have thought that scrambled eggs with ketchup would blow my mind like this did. Other big stand-outs were the avocado, asparagus, and homemade bread. My spouse had the chicken nuggets and lost his shit. Would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone who finds themselves in Copenhagen. And get a reservation!

Three or four stars? It's a tough question when it comes to this place but I end up giving it four…read morestars instead. Why did I even consider three? - It's a trendy place so there were lots and lots of people there when we tried our brunch there on a Sunday morning. Although we didn't have to wait long for our table, online table booking would have been more convenient. Seriously, what's up with these brunch places - you can be strict and say you would hold table for 15 minutes only and I am sure people would appreciate that. - Noise level was absolutely bad, see #1. It's a big open place inside and since there were lots of people and they were all talking, we could hardly have a conversation inside, let alone hygge, but fortunately the food was good enough of a distraction - Super greasy bacon. Seriously, if you claim to be a brunch place, do your bacon right. I like the smokey flavour but the shit was literally dripping with oil. Kinda disgusting to pick up from the plate and now for the positive sides: I love that there are more and more brunch places with this concept where you mix and match your own stuff. All the stuff they had in their menu (would like to try the asparagus but they didn't have that!) sounded so scrumptious that we felt like we had to try it all and we did (almost all). My personal favourites would be the soft-boiled egg and the waffle, although Mina K also swore by the sunny side up egg (spejlæg). The item that I was looking forward the most (avocado) turned out to be a big disappointment. More flavour please. Although there were so many people on that day, the service was very prompt and efficient, we got our table relatively fast considering that there were 6 names ahead of us and the food came quick too. My cortado was delicious although it was somewhat weak. All in all, service was quick and painless. I might want to try this place again on a not weekend morning, or maybe later in the afternoon when there's more relaxed atmosphere around this place. Sunday morning brunch gave us bad vibes since they were a lot of people waiting to get their brunch and the stressed out waiters and waitresses didn't help. Four for now and I really hate to degrade my review. I hope it never will come to that.

We went into the first entrance we saw, which led us into a small basement space with a counter to order drinks, and a little back room with more games. To me, it was a pretty typical gaming cafe - nothing remarkable. We played some card games for a bit, sipped our tea, and then we headed upstairs to leave... but THEN, we realized the actual MAIN section of the cafe was upstairs, and it was huge. There were several copies of each game neatly stacked, and went on forever. Every game you could think of seemed to be on the shelved. They had cute merchandise, too. We were both bummed we didn't realize it before, but I bookmarked this place so that I can return next time I am in Copenhagen. If you love gaming, this place is a must.
