Was staying across the street in Ogden for a couple of days and stopped by each morning for drinks and pastries. This place is located in a cute and quiet neighborhood, and is pretty cozy. The shop itself offers a warm and welcoming environment and is bustling with customers trying to get their morning fix. Although the shop is a bit small, there is plenty of seating and an open area to wait for your items. Additionally, art and merchandise line the walls, so there is always something to look at. I personally ended up buying a sticker of a painting made by a local artist. As for the drink/pastries I ordered a pumpkin chai with their house made puree and was not disappointed. I enjoyed it a lot. The only downside was it had a slightly odd aftertaste. As for the pastries, I had a blueberry banana muffin and a pumpkin turnover which were just alright. Staff are friendly and personable, even during the chaos of a rush. Lowkey though, the minimum option to tip being 20% is kind of crazy, considering that it is /just/ a small coffee shop. Still gave the tip anyway. Overall, it was a good experience and I enjoyed my drink both mornings I was here. I see why it is always so busy. If i'm in the area again, I'd likely come back. *staff/customers in my attached photos have been blurred to protect their identity.

This place makes me so happy. Thank you for being my personal favorite shop. Kind people that aren't fake, so many options to sit, work or friend time is always great. And food and coffee food . . . The turnovers and espressos and chai and matcha and drip and everything is great. And you attract the best people in Ogden. I've always had a good conversation there. Like all ten times i have been.

Nick and lance thank you for opening your shop This mercantile location on 25th street is the best on the street. The interior is the cleanest most comfortable cafe experience I've ever had. Employees are still the best and the extra extended menu is my favorite I will be here often to try everything else you guys come up with. Wow, a great find in Ogden. The chocolate and cherry scone was great. Lots of local color if you know what I mean. COVID compliant. Do allow you to sit inside with ok distancing. The sustainability is as best as can be expected.

Great breakfast/coffee spot! My wife and I went for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We've lived in or around Ogden for years and can't believe this was the first time we've been here. We both got bagel breakfast sandwiches on cheese bagels; one sausage and one bacon. Both were excellent, though the sausage patty was a bit smaller than I like. The bagels themselves were great, eggs cooked well, and other toppings were on-point! I had one of their medium roast coffee's and my wife got a hazelnut latte. Both were excellent. The little tables out front were a great setting for a nice breakfast. We'll definitely be back and I recommend everyone gives it a shot!

Came to visit my family here in Ogden I'm from Cali and u love visiting tea and coffee shops. Came here after reading the reviews and well its a cute place I ordered a vanilla latte iced nothing special my sis ordered a green tea iced hmmm it was the worst ever service was ok we went like 10 min before closing so the barista looked tired. I'll give it another try in my next visit hopefully I get satisfied this time. Btw I loved the lil shop too read more

This is, hands down, the best coffee I've ever had. And their lemon turnovers are amazing. All their turnovers are amazing, but the lemon ones are my favorite. I love to sit in the back at a desk, plug in my laptop and sit back and enjoy my coffee. read more

The food and beverage selection always looks really good and is delicious. The staff are always helpful and pleasant and I love the ambience. My only caveat is that if you order tea, order either the small or medium and not the large. They use only two tea bags for either large or medium so it's cheaper just to get the medium and the large tends to be a little watery. read more

Great coffee shop. I take one star off because there's only street parking and its a little cramped inside, but that can make a place like this have an intimate feel. I think it has a great atmosphere. Once me and my friends brought our young kids in the back patio (closed-in) and it was very nice because it was private and we didn't feel our kids were bothering anyone. Good coffee! read more

The customer service at Kaffe Mercantile is nothing short of AMAZING. I'm a regular customer, and today I drove to grab a tea on my lunch. To my shock and surprise, my card was declined. (AGH!) Instead of making a big deal out of it - they acted like it was no big deal, handed me my tea, and sympathized with me and my embarrassing card moment. Now THAT is a fantastic example of good customer service! The owners are kind, caring people - and that is reflected in their employees as well. Plus their coffee, tea, scones, etc. are DELICIOUS and can't be beat! If you try any coffee shop in the Ogden area, Kaffe Mercantile is the place to go. Love these guys! read more

We love the "Merc." It is located dangerously close to our house, so I frequent the place a little too often... They take really good care of their customers and genuinely appreciate our business. Often they run really good drink specials, particularly if you go in the slower afternoon. I appreciate that their coffee is fair trade coffee, and some of their other items make me think that they are socially conscious, which is an added bonus. They also feature a good selection of milk alternatives for those who are dairy free. The drinks are always good, and the food is made on the premises. Soon they will apparently be featuring more lunch options, and I can't wait to try that out. As mentioned, they offer free wi-fi. With a toddler who seems to always need a public restroom, I particularly appreciate the cleanliness; the restroom is always sparkling, which makes me think that the kitchen must be the same. The place is always decorated seasonally, and they also feature local artist's art on the walls. Finally, the staff is always friendly and professional. I feel great supporting a place like this. read more

The atmosphere breathes an upscale country style coffeehouse. For me, a great shop should be able to produce consistent high quality lattes. I haven't tried their espresso uten latte, but when the joint is hoppin, the steamed milk suffers. It's never easy to stretch and aerate milk effectively. It seems the production of perfect microfoam is an elusive ideal for many, but KM seems to hit the mark more often than it misses. read more

Established in 2006.

From Hughes Market to Jun's to now, Kaffe Mercantile is the epitome of historical charm. With reclaimed wood trim, marble countertops, and schoolhouse lights, you'll feel like you've stepped back in time. Originally built in 1920, Kaffe Mercantile has always been a neighborhood market and at one point even a butcher! The restoration on this building is remarkable. This combined with friendly faces, delicious coffee and delectable treats make Kaffe Mercantile a must see!

Meet the Business Owner: Lance S.

Lance and NIck have been the owners of Kaffe Mercantile since 2009. They are residents in the same neighborhood as the shop and love the area. Both have received their training from Cafe Ibis in Logan, Ut which is also Kaffe Mercantile's supplier. Lance and Nick love what they do and strive to show that in everything Kaffe Mercantile offers.

I think they have the cleanest restaurant and bathroom. The ambience is peaceful, full of love and radiates positive vibes. Customer service exceeded expectations, felt like fine dining service. The one time I tried to visit this place to check out their food, coffee, and work with my laptop, they wouldn't allow non-club guests to get beyond the host counter. And by "non-club" I mean that exact day the venue was hosting a marijuana event to allow paying members to taste test and discuss pot. As an independent cafe, why would you allow such an event to close off the rest of the public from enjoying food and coffee? The staff was not friendly, nor understanding that it was my first time there. Even after I told them I would sit in the corner and keep to myself while I worked. Big no bueno. read more
