Huge piece of homemade blueberry cheesecake
    Jen S.

Located 3 minutes walking distance from old town square, this little gem of a cafe is the perfect place for czechs, tourists and expats alike to sit for a quick sweet, small. meal or coffee. The interior is aqua blue and modern, chairs and tables are perfectly placed reflecting the lighting and cool atmosphere they have going on. Staff is very friendly and bilingual (always a plus when you can't speak fluent czech!) Service is exceptional-especially for this very touristic area. Here I ordered a cafe latte and a blueberry cheesecake. Wow. The blueberry cheesecake at this place blew me away. It was homemade, a HUGE slice, and just so creamy and delicious. The latte was good but more average. They had so many options for different cakes, pies and other sweets you can't even imagine. Overall thought this was a great little cafe, cute inside, great food and excellent service. Would come back here!

Expensive but cosy, warm and inviting. And lovely chips too. And hot chocolate. And pilsner. And cushions. I was quite beery by the time we came here for some respite and it was just what we were after. Lovely place to bring a paper and a pipe. If you smoke a pipe. I don't. But I can see myself doing it here.

Nice café with fresh snack food, slightly off the main roads. Good atmosphere and great service. Recommended!

Nine layers of heaven...the Honey Cake or Medovnik

You MUST try their Honey Cake....or Medovnik! Nine layers of heaven. If you're doing a tour of the Jewish Quarter or Josefov this is the perfect place to stop for a bite.

If you're looking for a nice cool place with top food this is the place to go . Very good good (grilled octopussy salad , spinach ravioli ) friendly service , really a good surprise in Prague !!! Decoration is kind of vintage New York with a nice James brown play list . Perfect for lunch time . Daily specials

Nice place but very very expensive - and no toilet. The wifi does not work especially well. Actually while posting this I am using the neighbour establishments wifi. There are better places, move on.

Salmon avocado eggs breakfast. Simple but very tasty

Great atmosphere, perfect service, waiter did great job staring me To a local Merlot that was fantastic, musty, slightly tannic, 1100 crowns. Beef tartar for app which perfect French bread toast. 3500 crowns all in, was way more than worth it. You need to make reservations in advance. The space itself is grand and beautiful, but the experience went downhill immediately. The hostess seemed to wield all the power in the room--no smile, barely any eye contact, just a curt and judgmental "no reservation." The restaurant was far from full. She then added, "I only have a side table for you," as if that were some sort of compromise. We accepted. At first glance, the waiters looked well presented, but with a bit more observation, the illusion faded. Some had sagging pants, untucked shirts, and most concerning, repeatedly inappropriate hand placement while on the floor. It happened more than once, which was uncomfortable and distracting (see photo). Overall, the place feels very pretentious without delivering on substance. The food wasn't anything special, and the desserts were average at best and certainly not worth the hype or the attitude. I wouldn't recommend Cafe Imperial to friends, especially if you're expecting a warm welcome or standout desserts.

My omlette was very good, with goat cheese and spinach, and my wife liked her eggs which were sunny side up over some vegetables and a avocado purée. That said, we had a gorgeous yet really disappointing pancake order here that just wasn't acceptable at all. The pancakes were thick, premade and tasted more like crumpets topped with fruit than pancakes, but what was inexcusable was that the pancakes themselves came out cold and hard. How does that even happen? On the other side of things, the expresso drinks were adequate, the egg dishes were enjoyable, the orange juice was fresh squeezed and the brown bread and butter that comes out (complementary) with breakfast is wonderful. If you do opt to come here, head to egg dishes, their bread and expresso, and away from their not good pancakes.) (Wish they would discontinue or replace the pancakes here. These hard, heavy, cold pancakes bring their morning meal average down a level, considering the other dishes here are a-okay.)

So unlike other places that usually stack pancakes and then put the topping at the top, this each layer has the filling, so each layer of the salmon pancake has cream cheese and salmon. The mascarpone and banana was the same each layer, filled with banana and cream. Highly recommend this little gem if you are around the area.

The halloumi and avocado as well as the hummus were layered in the stack so every bite had something in it. The karak latte was also very good with a smooth flavour. I appreciated that they could make it with alternative milk since most places I've been to that serve this will only do it with dairy. Would absolutely recommend for a fun, relaxed breakfast or lunch.

The menu changes frequently but on this cold winter evening, we enjoyed the warm mushroom bisque, a grilled seafood dish with pasta, and the duck breast with gratin potatoes.
