We had our wedding on oahu island's Ko'Olina. They helped us almost everything especially for the location. We got 4 choices with very detailed information and picture, and we chose the first suggested one "paradise cove beach". I highly recommend this place, it exactly matches its name. To every girl who told me planning a wedding was going to be fun failed to mention how stressful and overwhelming it is! I also learned early on that planning a wedding is not only time-consuming but super-expensive if you planned on inviting every friend from every friend circle and every family member (including extended family)! They helped get us set up with a wonderful officiant, photographer, musician, florist, and makeup/hair artist. We barely did any work except tell them what we wanted and what we could afford. We had our wedding at Waimanalo Bay Beach / Sherwood Forest and it was everything I dreamed our beach wedding would be. Barefoot, beautiful sands and turquoise waters, and our close friends and family standing around us. We personally aren't a flashy couple and didn't need a big church, venue, DJ or photo booth. I was a little hesitant to get a wedding planner at first, because our wedding ceremony was just us, no guests, and we had a year before the wedding, and I figured we could handle it on our own and save some money. Looking back, I am SO HAPPY that we decided to use Best Day Ever!! For the stress that they saved us, and all of the time and effort, the beach permit and officiant and photographer, etc. Everything was taken care of for us, all we had to do is show up. We planned a very short notice Hawaii elopement, and we needed help! After some quick research and some good Yelp reviews we choose Best Day Ever. Great decision. They were a little more expensive than some of the others we found, but you get what you pay for. Nic and Erica took care of everything! They found an amazing beach location near where we lived, a great official to marry us, and offered us a list of extras. We choose to have a makeup and hair dresser come directly to the house to handle the bride (highly recommended!!!!) and a guitarist to play at the ceremony. He was very good, but disappeared instantly after the ceremony (the only negative of the whole experience). We also had an amazing photographer included with our initial fee who posted a blog the very next day that we were able to refer friends and family that couldn't make it. Perhaps the best part of using Best Day Ever is the constant communication. It was just me and my fiancé planning our wedding at the time and I thought, "I'm gonna need some help on the day of." They really helped mefeel at ease on such a milestone in my life. Absolutely worth the investment and the very reason everything fell into place so smoothly at my wedding. Even with all the last minute changes they both remained calm and magically everything fell into place. At first meeting these ladies the connection was instant! I LOVE how they were calm at all times and even cleaned up and left flowers and wine at our suite bedroom. The timeline was to the T and even my now husband is a believer in them after being skeptical at first thinking we wouldn't need on site coordinators. My husband is in the Military and with him leaving all the time I was on my own. Our Guest list contained people from all over the US so not only did I have to plan our wedding I had to coordinate everyone flights their transportation, and events once they got here. I started to look for vendors on my own and that's when I realized it was a pain in the butt. Every vendor I looked at kept me on hold forever or always transferred me to someone else and having to have different services was just to much for me. I was a full time student and I worked full time as well so having the time to go through all the vendors was time I didn't have. That is when I decided to search for wedding planners. I called up several wedding planners and schedule meetings. One wedding planner I spoke to was very rude. I gave them my budget and my ideas and they told me that it wasn't enough money; then when I spoke to Nicole from Best Day Ever her and Erika spent a week researching everything before we had our first official. Erika and Nicole spent a week researching what I wanted for our wedding with the budget I had and before meeting them I all ready knew they were the wedding planners for us! I was so happy!! Then when I meant them their energy just re-enforced the feelings I had already had for them. Months went by and everything was great!! Erika and Nicole both did, what I like to call "the dirty work" they contacted all the vendors and dealt with everything. I just had to choose everything I wanted and any paper work they sent it to me; I never had to contact the vendors for anything.. any questions I had, they got back to me very quickly and it took so much stress off my shoulders!! Friends and family flew in a week to two weeks before the weeding... so I call it the "weeding week" I didn't have to worry about the wedding at all. I just spent time with my family and friends. I found out that one of my brides maids wasn't going to be in the wedding and so I had a back up bridesmaid but with no dress! :( Nicole was nice enough to let me borrow one of her personal dresses that matched my pink color!! I was so thankful because we couldn't find anything in the rose pink color and Davids bridal didn't have that dress in stock. The wedding day I felt like a queen!! Everything was perfect!! Erika and Nicole was very professional and had everything so perfect... They were everywhere! helping with the bridal party, the groomsmen, the vendors setting everything up and of coarse me, the bride :) It was our "Best Day Ever!" I would like to highly recommend Best day Ever as your wedding coordinators they are willing to work with whatever your budget and are willing to go on beyond to help you. We are so happy that we went this route because of all the family and friends that flew in my husband and I were all over the place with different people trying to spend time with everyone and since none of them have ever been to Hawaii we were also calling shuttle services and setting up entertainment. Initially, I didn't think I needed help planning my very small and intimate wedding, but w/ Nicole's expertise, she suggested many details (I wouldn't have thought of myself) which made the ceremony extra special. We were extremely satisfied with the photographer, officiant, and private chef recommended by "Best Day Ever" - they have the best connections! In addition, Nicole was kind enough to make my bouquet and flower crown when I couldn't find a florist with the specific flowers I wanted. She designed and created exactly what I had in mind. From the day my husband (now) and I got engaged in Feb 2013, I knew I wanted a wedding planner. I did my research and found Best Day Ever, and to this day, my husband and I reminisce about our October wedding every day, because it was truly, our BEST DAY EVER!!! From our initial meeting with Nicole, I felt so at ease. I could tell from our meeting that Nicole was a PRO, she knew exactly what questions to ask us and she was so organized!! My husband and I chose most of our wedding vendors ourselves. Nicole and Erika helped us with a few, but to be honest, most we're out of our budget! They did a great job narrowing down choices for various vendors depending on what my husband and I wanted. The last month and a half before our wedding, we worked mostly with Erika. She is the sweetest person to work with! She basically had two things on her mind for my husband and I, for us to have fun on our wedding day, have the greatest time of our lives, and secondly for us to EAT, have something in our tummies so we could enjoy the day. Erika coordinated our meeting with Hawaii Prince Hotel's Catering Manager and Banquet Captains. If it wasn't for her speaking on behalf of my husband and I, we would be so lost! She explained ALL details (big and small) that we wanted at our reception. She coordinated our wedding rehearsal and told everyone what they needed to do and when. I even wanted to do some DIY things for the reception two days before the wedding, but Erika saved me and took it upon herself to do it. She made little signs that explained to my guests what I wanted them to do with my sign-in puzzle pieces, and a sign not to touch my display ONLY cake. It was the little things that I totally did not think of, that "SAVED" me. I also totally forgot to make the money envelopes for the two lion dance dragons, and of course Erika saved me with that as well, literally two minutes before they performed. I can only thank Erika and the rest of her staff for coordinating everything including: 1. Calling all my vendors and finalizing all plans, looking over all of our contracts making sure nothing was missed! 2. Making our reception timeline intricately detailed so that nothing would be missed 3. Making sure my personal table runners made it to the reception because I forgot to give them to the Banquet Captains the day before 4. Getting last minute items I needed two hours prior to the wedding and bringing them to my hotel room 5. Putting together my guest list and sign-in sheets for my reception table helpers, and telling them what they needed to do 6. RELIEVING all of my husband and I's stress by taking care of everything. I DID NOT have to worry about my vendors calling me the day before and the day of my wedding and we ACTUALLY had the chance to enjoy our wedding day from beginning to end. In the end, my husband and I only have GREAT things to say about BDE. I put all of my trust in these ladies and everything was PERFECT! My husband and I always say, if we could do everything all over again we would, because we had such an AMAZING time at our wedding and it was so memorable! This review is long long overdue. Our wedding was back in 2013, but I can't stress enough how glad I am that we had Erika & Nicole by our sides on our special day. Originally, I wasn't planning on hiring a wedding planner. I LOVE to plan and organize and didn't think we would need one. I had a detailed spreadsheet with everything we needed for our big day. However, we realized that we wouldn't be able to take care of everything on the day of and decided to look for a day-of coordinator. We met with several other vendors before BDE. I remember when we first met Erika & Nicole, I felt so at ease and comfortable! It was like talking to girl friends. They simply blew me away with their thoughtfulness and organization and I knew right then and there they were the ones for us! Erika & Nicole were always so responsive with ALL my emails. I don't even remember how many times I emailed them with questions or concerns. They always put my mind at ease. They helped gather family/friend contact info so everyone would be in touch if need be, ran our rehearsal, and really took care of so much. My bride and myself decided that we were going to plan and coordinate our own wedding. Well, just a couple months into the planning process we realized that with a guest list of close to 180 we had bitten off more than we could chew. With four months until the big day we decided to get some help. After sitting down with Nicole and Erika we fell in love with their energy. Even though they were the first coordinators we meet with, my bride knew instantly they were the ones she wanted. Even though I wanted to do a little comparison shopping, my bride said "No need. They are the ones" and we hired them on the spot. I have to admit that I was a little turned off at first after receiving the contract and noticing they had added and extra fee because we were having an outdoor wedding. After voicing my displeasure with the unexpected fee, they were quick to put me at ease and apologized for not informing us during our initial meeting and then offered a discount for the misunderstanding. I also take responsibility for not fully reading the package details where it did clearly state the added fee. They could have easily said that the fee is listed in the package and stuck to their price but with excellent customer service they scored big points in my book. Nicole and Erika were awesome over the next few months. With the stresses of the wedding planning now off our shoulders, they presented us with various vendors to choose from and experienced advice. Even though we had in mind what we wanted for our centerpieces, they suggested we go with a wider low profile one due to the fact that we would be outdoors and the location the reception was in was know for being windy. Boy were we glad we listened. Sure enough, the wind was blowing that day and if we had went with the taller centerpieces we originally wanted, they would have blown over into our guests laps. They even found discrepancies in two vendor contracts we had signed previous to hiring them and found money we had over paid. They contacted the vendors and got us refunds for the overpayment. Wow! Job very well done! The wedding was perfect. Everything we had pictured and with the extra details and design package they suggested, it was even better than we had dreamed. We got nothing but good compliments from our guest saying it was one of the better weddings they had attended and it was all because Nicole and Erika had the skills to pull it off. There was absolutely no way we would have been able to pull off our dream destination wedding without Nic & Erika's help! We booked BDE's partial wedding planning package a year out in advance while on a week long vacation in Oahu. Nic and Erika worked with our limited time on the island and helped set up meetings with different photographers, florists, DJs, and linens. By the end of that week we basically had most of our big vendors booked. We were able to select the highest quality vendors for the best value. BDE especially went above and beyond with helping us secure a cafe and paper lantern decor company by meeting up with the hotel manager and decor vendor at our hotel venue to finalize the set up requirements. Come wedding day, Erika and her team had all the bases covered allowing us to enjoy as much time as possible with our guests. Erika even brought us drinks so that we could enjoy the limited time we had together to eat! Bottom line, you cannot go wrong with BDE. They provided an excellent service at a great value.
