My husband and I recently had the most breathtaking, joy-filled dream wedding at Paliku Gardens--made possible entirely by Louise and her phenomenal team at LLW. We chose the "maid of honor for hire" package, and let me tell you: WORTH EVERY PENNY! We booked LLW in January 2024 for our June 2025 wedding, and from day one, Louise led the way. Our initial meeting was incredibly thorough, with a planning timeline and actionable next steps. From there, we met over Zoom throughout the year and collaborated asynchronously in between. What truly surprised us was how personally involved Louise remained. As LLW's owner, we assumed Louise might eventually pass things off--but nope. I cannot believe it took me this long to write this review. I had the wedding of my dreams thanks to Louise and the Love Letter Weddings team! I should caveat that I am from Chicago, and am a self aware very detail-oriented, design obsessed person who was psyched to have a wedding in Hawaii but had zero idea of where to start. I also knew that I wanted to have a stylish wedding that incorporated my Chinese culture and still represented me and my now husband's taste being a little more modern -- but that I didn't want a Hawaii-themed wedding. Louise and LLW delivered. I'd highly recommend Louise and do the full service start-to-finish planning option she offers -- despite my pickiness we were able to confirm venue, catering, floral, makeup and hotel vendors on ONE site trip. The biggest value is that Louise has incredible relationships with vendors on the island and she could steer us to narrowed down top choices for our style and budget right away -- immediately saving us hours. Not to mention, there are a million things you can't tell about a vendor from their website or IG profile -- namely how professional, on time, consistent, or adaptable they are if things go wrong -- and Louise and team knew all of those nuances on top of having very close relationships with any vendor you'd consider on the island. You just don't want to have to worry about those things when you have the fun big decisions to make. Louise was endlessly patient even when I had so many questions and calls, and never made me feel silly for wanting to try something different. She and her team (shout out Edna!) were collaborative and fun, and when some things needed pivots or attention on the day of -- her team was there. My husband and I just recently married at Aulani in Hawai'i with Love Letter as our floral vendor. The process was fairly straightforward and easy. After we selected Love Letter as our vendor, we were immediately connected with Makana. We were asked to fill out a questionnaire that would give Love Letter an idea of what our price range was and what we were looking for. After we submitted the form, Makana and the team provided us with a very helpful visual guide proposal with multiple price options so we had a general idea of what we wanted, colors, and types of flowers. We then had a zoom call with Makana and they walked us through more of the proposal and to answer any questions we had. We ended up going with local, tropical florals with a lot of greenery: Lei's for ourselves and our wedding party, flower crowns for the flower girls, a beautiful floral arrangement for the alter, petals in the aisle way with the mickey mouse design, bud vases for the cocktail hour, a lovely flower arrangement for our memorial table, and the most amazing floral arrangements for our ballroom. Makana provided their expertise as well of staggering tall and short arrangements on the various tables to give it dimension vs. everything looking really flat. They also offered us some additional cost savings by repurposing the floral on the alter to be used for various other decorations, including our sweethearts table. Many of our guests were awestruck with how amazing all the floral arrangements turned out and they looked amazing in our photos. We also loved the additional Disney magic of including some hidden mickeys into the floral arrangements. Day of the wedding, we were able to catch Makana and their team setting up the floral arrangements as we checked in the morning. Makana also coordinated directly with our Disney wedding lead and delivered our beautiful leis so we could wear them for our family photos. We love all the hard work and detail that Makana and the Love Letter team did for our wedding and it really put the extra aloha look and feel to our big day. We were looking for a wedding planner that could help us plan an Indian wedding in Hawaii (From NYC) that could really take what was important to us and bring it to life. She has this vibe that's hard to describe...but it's zen, it's genuine, it's warm, it's professional, it's tactful, it's all the best things. I could write a novel describing all the ways they ensured we had our dream wedding and truly went ABOVE AND BEYOND so many times. I'll keep it to just 5 reasons we were so happy with LLW (I could write 100). 1. Why we picked LLW: It was an extensive process - I received a list from a friend who is involved in the Oahu wedding scene of the coordinators/planners he felt were best/had 0 red flags. I researched them all and chatted with ~5 who were all excellent. I was down to LLW and another planner, so let my husband choose between the two and he knew immediately after meeting via Zoom that LLW was for us based on Louise's vibe, availability throughout the process, and tech-savvy-ness. I grew up in Hawaii, but we planned our wedding from the east coast and felt Louise and LLW bridged the destination and local wedding chasm effortlessly. Also, Louise is NOT PUSHY AT ALL in terms of trying to upsell you on packages or anything. She portrays a sincere desire to give you what you need/want in terms of help - something I greatly appreciated. :) 2. Truly professional and prompt: Louise responds promptly to emails and if she is going to take a while due to weddings or vacations, she lets you know so you are never left hanging. This was a huge deal to us! My husband (tech) and me (medicine) wish we had the email etiquette Louise and her team have in our own work they are so good. 3. Maid of Honor for Hire Package: I chose this package because I was genuinely excited to plan our wedding and in discussion with Louise felt this was the right one for me. Compared to other "partial planning/coordination" packages, I felt that Louise's offered the most flexibility and availability to ask questions and consult about various parts of the planning process. It was perfect for me and could not recommend it more! 4. Above and Beyond: A couple of snafus happened during the process that Louise handled and helped us through like a champ. First, while visiting the office early on, my car got towed - and LOUISE DROVE MY MOM AND ME TO THE TOW YARD. Second, when my welcome wedding sign did not arrive from Etsy on time, LLW made us a gorgeous one for our wedding (see photos). Third, I folded 1000 cranes and wanted them behind us - they were a tangled mess, but they made it look amazing. Love Letter Weddings is hands down the best money spent and best vendor decision we made for our big day. We could not recommend Louise, her exceptional service and team more. My now husband and I are based in Los Angeles, but picked Hawaii as our destination given I'm from New Zealand and he's from New York. We were initially flying pretty blind, and our venue of choice required an approved planner to coordinate on our behalf. After some extensive social media and internet research, we thought Louise might be a fit right away and it turns out she was indeed a perfect match just minutes into our first consultation. We opted for the Maid of Honor package, which meant LLW provided a list of recommended vendors for us to choose from, a full online planning service (Aisle Planner) with a budget Louise's team put together. Louise was also fully contactable to us throughout for any and all questions. She gave amazing advice, provided key milestones and deadlines to keep us on track, then one month out from the wedding, we had an extensive handover meeting and LLW took it over from there. To say our minds were blown at LLW's expertise, professionalism and attention to detail is an understatement. We literally could not have pulled off our dream wedding without Louise and her team. Leading into the wedding, they were amazing at ticking off the things we hadn't thought of, picking up our master timeline, locking in call times and all details with vendors and pulling together those final touches. For those of you planning on having a wedding on Oahu, I 100% Love Letter Weddings. We did a destination wedding there(we are located in california) and Louise helped us navigate through all the details, kept us on track even though we can be very delayed, and gave us the wedding we could only dream of. Her pricing is more than fair and so worth it. Weddings are extremely stressful(understated) and her talent and organize allows for a smooth process. She keeps everything organized with a separate program that allows us to track guests, moodboards, budgets, events, timelines, as well as regular zoom meetings. This is great because my wife and I are both visual and auditory learners and having both really makes the process easy. Louise knows all the great vendors out there and with hawaiian time being a real thing, she is able to connect with them and make sure things happen on time. This to me, was one of the greatest benefits. Not living there or knowing who does what and having that all taken care of really brought our stress levels down. Her team is extremely talented and nice and they all make you feel so special :). I, as the groom, am not so plan-oriented compared to my wife and I know that drove her crazy but Louise was able to balance everything and keep me in check. We hired Love Letter Weddings to do the flowers for our wedding on Oahu and they were exactly what I dreamt of. I had a vision for a very tropical design and had already seen on their website and Instagram that they'd executed flowers just like what I was looking for. I had a call with the owner, Louise, and she was incredibly patient with me given all my questions and concerns about pricing and design. It took me months to make up my mind about specific design aspects, but she was super patient with me for months until we decided exactly what we wanted. In the end, we ordered a bride's bouquet, groom's boutonniere, 7 table arrangements, bride and groom chair florals, and some ceremony aisle flowers. We went back and forth on the Style Boards a few times until we were able to decide on the final design. I highly recommend creating a detailed Pinterest board to show Louise what you're looking for. The day of our wedding, Louise dropped off all our flowers on time and the final result was absolutely breathtaking. My bouquet in particular was pretty spectacular. LOUISE IS THE BEST! We could go on and on about why to hire Louise as your planner (we did consulting and month of package, and boy was it worth it). She and her team are skilled, passionate, organized, and have an artistic flare. More specifically: 1) Louise helps you focus on your priorities. She pushes you to think about what you care about most for your wedding, and then helps you figure out the budgeting and logistics and vendors to make it happen. She does not push you to overspend or overextend yourself, and she was always willing to guide us with her expertise when we felt stuck or simply didn't have strong opinions (her expertise was always right). 2) Louise is calm, organized, and detail oriented. When we did our "month of" transition call with Louise and Jen, we hung up the phone and basically said "hiring Louise was the best money we've ever spent." Weddings involve a lot of details that most of us ordinarily have no reason to think about and, after the wedding, will (hopefully) never need to think about again: how to structure the flow of guests during different phases of the wedding, cost-effective but atmospheric tent lighting, how to order rentals, etc. Instead of investing tons of time and energy in learning all of these things, we read some of Louise's blog posts, told them a few things we knew we wanted, and then basically followed their expert advice on everything else (again, the theme is you can't go wrong listening to their advice). 3) She gives great guidance about vendors. Every single recommendation she made-- from venue, to caterer, to DJ, to make-up artist to photographer-- was not only excellent, it was an exceptional fit for us. We loved working with all of our vendors-- they were talented, personable, and professional--and every single vendor we contacted was genuinely excited when we told them we were working with Louise. She clearly has great taste and a stellar reputation, which goes a long way. In fact, the only minor problem we had was when a vendor added on some extra charges, and Louise and Jen basically made the problem disappear through a combination of magic and their good relationship with the vendor. 4) Flower design! We gave Louise a shoe-string flower budget and a plea to help us make it feel like our wedding wasn't flower deficient. Somehow she pulled off flower arrangements that were so vibrant, unique, and beautiful that they were getting compliments all night. 5) Overall stress reduction. We have heard stories from our friends whose wedding planners added to or failed to alleviate the stress of wedding planning. At times we felt guilty discussing our experience with Louise with these friends, because it felt like bragging. The week before our wedding was honestly one of the most relaxing weeks of my life (we arrived in Hawaii early). Yes, we had some errands to do, but even those were either fun or basically painless (Louise even came with us to Costco to give guidance as we purchased our alcohol). We are so glad we decided to work with Louise and Love Letter Weddings! We got engaged in July 2017 and decided that we would get married in December, which was a pretty quick turnaround time. As some people do with a higher power, we put our faith, trust, passion and belief in Love Letter Weddings.... and were rewarded with Heaven! We began working with Louise over a year ago for our destination wedding in Hawaii. We of course had no idea what we were doing, and the clouds parted and gave us Louise! She made the whole process super easy... I trusted her to tell me what to do and when to do it, when she said jump I jumped! When I contacted her to help with day-of coordination, roughly four months before our wedding date, we had no idea what our wedding could look like under the applicable Covid-related restrictions and orders. Even with this great amount of uncertainty, Louise jumped at the chance to help. From the moment we met, I felt like we were meant to work together. I consider myself a pretty organized person, but Louise's planning skills and attention to detail impressed me to no end. Louise and her team were so knowledgeable, organized, and flexible that they could seamlessly work around any issues and iron out any and all details, even during the most stressful weeks leading up to the wedding when we had to react to the constantly evolving Covid rules. Louise has checklists for every part of the planning process, which meant that every single detail had been considered and planned in advance. Even though Hawaii is such a huge wedding destination, it was surprisingly hard to find a planner that would appease my type-A personality within my budget. I must have telephoned a dozen planners and e-mailed with even more. Finally, a very established wedding planner recommended Louise to me. After 10 minutes on the phone, I knew she was perfect for us. We spent a year planning a whole wedding weekend, and she kept in touch with me with whole way through, making sure that I hit all of the important milestones. I visited Oahu once for 2 days to check out the venues and meet some vendors. Before our visit, Louise arranged our whole itinerary so efficiently and handled any delays or bumps with such ease. I didn't have to worry about a thing, and if she was stressed out or something didn't go our way, I had no idea. A sign of a great wedding planner. I'm a little OCD (as I mentioned!) so that's why I wanted to meet the main vendors and venues, but now that I know Louise and her personality, I could have left all of those decisions to her. She has really great taste and has a knack of understanding what you want! Finally the wedding weekend came, and it all fell into place like clockwork. It honestly couldn't have gone any better! My husband and I wanted a small, intimate garden wedding at his parents' home. I really wanted a Style-Me-Pretty type wedding, but I am far too easily overwhelmed to take on anything with that level of detail. First off, let me just mention that a home wedding involves a lot of work... tables, chairs, food, servers, lighting... I could go on and on. Louise was an incredible asset in this respect. She knew exactly what we would need and how to find it. Louise would often send my husband and I examples of several options, and then once we made a decision, take care of making it all happen. She was also really creative when it came to helping us stay within our budget. For instance, we saved money on flowers by having her arrange all the table centerpieces and bouquets. And they were beautiful, I couldn't have asked for better. Finally, I have to admit, we were super picky about food. This is mainly because we had a lot of friends coming with dietary restrictions (vegetarian, gluten-free, no chocolate). Where do I start..... We will forever love and appreciate Louise of Love Letter Weddings for bringing our wedding vision to life! My wife and I are main landers (SoCal) that have traveled to Maui and Kauai in the past. We hoped a destination wedding would be an awesome alternative to a local, one night extravaganza. So, site unseen, we leased two 10 bedroom/1 acre homes across the street from eachother to house the majority of our guests and to serve as a venue for the reception. The homes are located in Hau'la, close to the North Shore of Oahu (about 45 minutes from Honolulu). We had 95 guests including children. My wife started interviewing wedding planners on Oahu about 6-7 months before our wedding date. Many were friendly and eager, but my wife instantly felt a connection with Louise and knew she was the one immediately after speaking with her. I am so grateful they found eachother! We opted for Louise's full service package. Not only did she provide all of the services she agreed to, but she went above and beyond our agreement in EVERY ASPECT. She started by driving to the venue to survey it for our event. We set a budget and Louise was incredibly mindful of it throughout the process. She is incredibly creative and crafty which helped a ton with overall costs. Most importanly, our wedding and reception were both absolutely beautiful and exactly what we envisioned- plus more! Having a full reception at a home is a much different venture than at a hall or restaurant. Basically you're starting from scratch, and creating the venue from the ground up. Louise accepted the challenge without hesitation and delivered a magical experience. She is incredibly detailed oriented!!! Louise provided many vendors to choose from and negotiated our costs/contracts with all of ones we selected. We were extremely pleased with all of the vendors (photo, video, catering, DJ, supplies, etc.), and would reccomend all of them for their specialized services. Our day came together flawlessly! I can't imagine the work she put in, but Louise and her crew made it happen. It's truly amazing how kind and patient she is. I emailed and called her TOO MANY times, and she enthusiastically replied each time, and calmed my nerves when I needed it. She has a very magnetic energy about her, and it's obvious in watching her deal with her staff and the vendors. We hired her for service and though we were doing much of our planning from Canada, we enjoyed lots of the excuses we made to come more often for tastings, venue visits and opportunities to work with her responsive team. In the end, every recommendation was so spot on that we ended up pulling out all stops with our ceremony in Loulu Palms, but we added a rehearsal dinner at Waimea Falls, an activity at Kualoa Ranch and breakfast following at the Turtle Bay Resort. Louise works with fantastic vendors who enjoy working and collaborating with her to move our looks and feels to a story board and into a dreamlike wedding. It's taken almost a month to shake the cobwebs off of our dream wedding. Our February 2020 wedding was blessed with rain all morning until 5 minutes before the reception, and then magically stopped. Even if it didn't stop, Louise and team were moving things out and in of tents, everything was wrapped and taped down and every contingency was contemplated with solutions ready to go. Okay I can seriously write a book on how INCREDIBLE Louise is. Get ready for a long post!!!! When we decided we wanted to have a destination wedding we knew we needed a wedding planner to make things run smoothly. I had spoke to about 4 other wedding coordinating companies until I found the one and only Love Letter Weddings. Let me start by saying, JUST HIRE HER NOW LOL!!! When calling other companies it took days to hear back from them or I would speak to 3 different people and the conversations didn't get super personal. Right when I left Louise a voicemail she called back within minutes!! We spoke for a few hours the first time and I explained my visions, expectations, budget etc. Which was great to be able to FINALLY talk about what I wanted. She has this calmness about her that just makes you feel like you have found the One ! She made the process SOOOOO EASY!!! Her organization and professionalism is truly one of a kind. Louise is extremely good at what she does. From the beginning we had a checklist of things we had to get done, payments, timeline etc. She is soooo great about staying within the budget and is honest about what things we should keep or do without. I had a zillion ideas of what i wanted but had no clue how to put it together...BUT Louise knows! She knows everything! Things i mentioned one time (that i forgot) on the initial visit she remembers a year later! All the vendors she recommended were Unbelievable and just as professional as she is. She is so creative and really listens to what you want and don't want. Whenever I had friends ask "How's wedding planning? are you super stressed?" my answer was always "Nope not stressed at all, I have Louise!!" We went out to Hawaii in September 2015 (wedding was Feb 2016) to do a food tasting, cake tasting, and other wedding details. She drove us around the island and was there every step of the way. I would text her all the time at random hours ( sometimes 1am lol) and she always wrote back! Thanks Louise :) . She never makes you feel like your requests are outrageous. She does anything and everything she can to make your day absolutely perfect. I can honestly say my wedding was the most perfect day of my life. The day of, I was not stressed a single bit and got to enjoy getting ready with my girls and family knowing that Louise is doing an awesome job. Even in moments of panic she was there to calm my nerves. Like pulling up to the venue to get married i forgot the marriage license in the hotel room but obviously didn't have time to go get it since i was about to walk down the aisle. One of her amazing assistants went and got it and by the end of the ceremony the certificate was there ready to be signed. These things I'm mentioning are only a small description of how great of a wedding planner and person Louise is. I feel like I have found an amazing friend in her :) EVERY SINGLE GUEST was like "Oh my gosh, your wedding coordinator is amazinnnngggg". She always prepares for any situation. During wedding photos i fell in the ocean (woops hehe) and Louise was there with towels to clean me up! And drinks when i needed a refill :). I'm so happy to be married but sad I won't have Louise there to help me with just life stuff lol!! We miss you already Louise. Where do I even begin? How about simply Louise is AMAZING. From the very first Skype call with her, I knew I was in good hands. Her calm demeanor and ability to think through every little detail is such a blessing during what can be a stressful time. Even when our linens didn't arrive from Seattle, she was able to keep me stress free and have new ones delivered in no time. Not only did Louise coordinate every detail flawlessly (seriously, every one of my guests said it was the most seamless wedding they have ever been to), she was able to execute my vision perfectly. She both coordinated AND designed all the flower arrangements- which were so beautiful, they brought tears to my eyes. I mean, this girl spent hours hand stitching the draped greenery for the centerpieces that I desperately wanted without complaint and still showed up with a smile on her face the next day.
