I hate working out. I mean, I really hate working out. I hate being out-of-breath and would never add "sweating through my clothes" to my list of ... well, I'd add it to my list of things that are uncomfortable, and bordering on embarrassing. I also don't really like team things. And I don't have much good to say about over-enthusiastic people and their over-the-top motivational slogans, trying to fool everyone into "getting excited" about something crappy. Like working out. That being said, I love Kaia F.I.T. Love it. I was super unsure at first, but after even just the orientation, I knew it was going to be awesome. And horrible, because I really do still hate working out, and you do a lot of that, there. But I knew it was different than any other place I'd been to, so I was hopeful. I was worried about being the oldest girl in there (41). I was worried about being the person in the worst shape. About being the only one not able to complete the exercises. I was worried about passing out or throwing up or peeing my pants (six kids). But it turns out, it doesn't matter if I'm the oldest, or if I'm in the worst shape of the bunch. It doesn't matter if I am the Rock Star of Kaia, or a sweaty, vomit-covered pile of flesh laying in her own urine (too far?) - the girls there are awesome. And the part about not liking being a part of a team? I take that back. Just this one time. The other girls are so encouraging. And never make me feel like an idiot. Everyone cheers each other on, and that really does get you through that last little bit, when you think you can't hold that plank for even one more second. At orientation, Megan (I'll get to her in a bit!) said, "Don't worry if you're sweating or if your shirt rides up and your belly is hanging out. Nobody here is even going to notice, because we're all just focused on doing our best." Or something like that. I don't know, but the part about not worrying if your belly hangs out? That part I remembered, because let's be real: It's a legitimate concern. But to know that you can show up with no make-up, with wild hair and in a dumb t-shirt AND you don't have to worry about your shirt riding up during Standing Mountain Climbers? Prime. The workout is amazing, as well. I've lost 16 pounds (down to 140) and can DO things. I can do things I couldn't do when I started. I am getting stronger and more agile. I have energy. I feel really proud of myself, and I don't say that often. Or, really, ever. Each day is different. It's broken down into small chunks, so it always seems manageable. It's brutal, I'm not going to lie. I've never sweat this much in my life. Every session leaves me spent, but feeling - and I'm really going to say this - revitalized. This isn't a "Show up sometimes and eventually, maybe you'll see a little results" routine. This is a, "Commit to showing up, workout until you think you may actually die (maybe that's just me) and get amazing results" routine. Oh, and girls only. I love that. Fridays are Yoga, Wednesday is a running class (never gone, too scared), Saturday is a walk/run that you can bring friends and family along to. The other days are a boot camp style workout that will kick your (getting-to-be nicely toned) butt. Megan Powers is the owner and coach and everyone loves her. You can't not love her. Remember my earlier reference about the awful over-the-top, over enthusiastic, let's make everyone feel uncomfortable with my sugar-coated, sing-song voice? That's not Megan. Megan is funny and easygoing. Easygoing, but super motivating. She knows how to get the best from everyone, without making anyone feel like a loser. She puts everyone at ease right away. Megan has encouraged me to re-examine what I believed to be my limitations. It takes a pretty unique person and place for me to be comfortable enough to even attempt something that could very easily end up being incredibly humiliating. But I felt comfortable enough to try hard things and it turns out I could do them, after all. She's really knowledgeable about fitness and nutrition. My husband is a fitness and nutrition superstar, and she tells me the same things he tells me, so I trust her. Plus, you can't argue with results. I'm getting smaller AND stronger. And while I can't say that I bounce out of bed each morning or that I arrive to class thrilled to be moments away from a hard, hard workout, I can tell you that I really do love (and hate) each day there. At the end, I always love it. In the middle, it's a love/hate thing. But if it was easy, this would all be a waste of time. Kaia F.I.T will change your life, no joke. Being an athlete all of my life, I had difficulty acclimating to life with a sedentary job and no real outlet for activity. I mean, I hate the gym, I really do. Years of playing soccer, track, swimming, has wired me to be outside when being active not indoors on a treadmill watching someone else play sports. At this point in my life I really needed a change and was having a hard time sleeping through the night when I happened upon a Living Social deal at 2 a.m. for Kaia and I decided then and there to give it a whirl. Wow! I was so intimidated, Kaia F.I.T. is based on muscle confusion, so every day it's different and 3 months later, it is still challenging and fun. I don't respond well to drill sergeant type tactics, and Meghan is far from it she's absolutely AWESOME! She's encouraging without being overbearing and inspiring without being pompous. I have lost 5 inches overall and continue to stay with Kaia in an effort to be strong, not necessarily skinny. Since I work in the healthcare field and am working on becoming a clinical health educator, it is imperative for me to set a good example for my patients. Kaia is helping me to change lives; Meghan is helping me to change lives. Kaia also incorporates nutrition into their boot camp and has three levels of nutrition to assist any to incorporate healthier food habits into their lives. I simply can't say enough good things about Kaia F.I.T. and what it has done for me. Come try it out you won't be sorry. Oh, and that insomnia thing? I'm hooked!!! This is the best decision I've ever made for working out. I love the fact it's all women...so there's no creepy feeling of weirdo's watching you while you work out. The hour goes by quickly and I feel so great after we're done. I've lost inches all over and have toned spots I thought could never be toned. I look forward to the mystery of the workout every day. It's always different so it's not the same old mundane routine. Megan is a fantastic instructor. She's so very knowledgeable, upbeat, and funny. She keeps you engaged and flows with positive energy that rubs off on everyone in there. The morning group I'm with is a quiet one...considering it's the 5AM group...but everyone is very encouraging and nice. This class just makes me want to show up everyday and I'm so glad I found this for my life. I've noticed such great changes in my body, strength, endurance, and energy. What a great way to stay healthy and get in shape. It is wonderful as cross-training for other sports, or just a workout on its own. A variety of exercises including a TRX class and outdoor run, jog for you, your friends and family. Challenging for all levels. You choose how hard to make it for yourself. I joined Kaia FIT September 2016. From my first visit I knew this program was what I had been looking for. A genuine program that supports the physical needs of women in a challenging and supportive environment. At 54 years old I am not at 'Kaia Level' but my progress and strength has improved tremendously under the guidance and leadership of their awesome coaches. I have been attending faithfully for almost nine months and I don't think the routines have repeated yet! There is always something new to learn, something challenging to try and more fun to be shared with non-judgmental, like-minded women that encourage each other. I've been taking the Kaia Fit classes for about 5 months now and I'm loving it! It is exactly the type of program I was looking for. The workouts are different every day which makes it fun and keeps me going. Kirsten and all of the other coaches are very enthusiastic and they're good about making everyone aware of the proper form for each of the exercises. Another great thing about Kaia is that you can go at your own pace. There are 3 levels of Kaia so you can go at whatever pace works for you and challenge yourself at the next level when you feel the time is right. The classes include yoga once a week and TRX a couple of times a week. It's great to mix things up! It's very well rounded program and I highly recommend it! read more

So I've been meaning to write this review for some time, so here we go. I've been with Kaia for about a year and a half now. I was looking for a new way to get back into fitness that I was not only going to enjoy but also not going to be paying personal trainer rates for. I wanted more than just a gym membership, where I had to motivate myself to go and come up with the workout. But nothing crazy like cross fit, which does scare me a little. My background: I have done personal training at multiple gyms, gym classes, weekly dietary support groups, and running groups/programs. I found with the above I would be very motivated at first and then when the newest and excitement died away so did my commitment. I needed a new experience. So I decided to give Kaia a try. It's a women's only for group fitness. Kaia makes working out easy and fun. It's all levels and ages. There are no mirrors so I don't stress if my shirt creeps up or if my hair is gross, and no one else cares either. Everyone I've met there has been very friendly and supportive. In fact I even did it while pregnant and could hardly move around at all, which was great until I got put on bed rest. There are the core coaches who lead the fitness classes and get to know you and your goals on a personal level. When they show how to do an exercise they show you modifications too, so you do what it comfortable for you and your body. And all the coaches are very friendly and supportive, they are all happy to help you to find a way to move and strengthen your body. I love that the weekly class schedule gives you everything you need. Here in Santa Rosa: Monday's are for TRX, Tuesday's are bootcamp with cardio exercises integrated with body weight or weighted exercises, Wednesday's are rest days, Thursday's are bootcamp again, Friday's are yoga, and Saturdays are rotational between boot camps, out door work outs or walk/runs (which you can bring your strollers, children and dogs if you need too, huge bonus). Sunday's are rest days. They provide all the equipment you need there, all you have to do is show up ready to work out and bring your water. Each class is a hour with a warm up at the beginning and a cool down/stretch portion at the end. Also although you do sign up for a class time to "belong" to, you can attend other class times on the same day of that works better for your schedule. I love this because sometimes 615a just isn't going to happen for me, but I know I can always attend the 8a, 445p or 6p if I need too and still get my work out in. The other nice thing is that the workouts for the week are all scheduled for Kaia, meaning that if I'm traveling and need to attend a another kaia I will be doing the exact same thing as I would be here. Kaia is broken down into 6 or 5 weekly segments. The 6 week sessions are called BRIK, these are focusing on your fitness goals. They weigh, measure, and get baseline measurements (plank time, mile time, etc depending on the focus). They also provide dietary recommendations, sample weekly menus, recipe books, etc. Plus each class they check in with the group and discuss barriers, ideas, etc to make you successful. BRIK is five days a week workouts scheduled. They will do a mid point and then end weigh in and measurements. Also during BRIK normally they offer cooking class or classes to expand your knowledge and cooking skills. I learned how to make a yummy cashew cream one class! This was all included. The 5 week session is called CORE, this is in between BRIK and is four weekly classes (TRX isn't included in CORE unless you decide to become a VIP member, then it's always part of your weekly workouts regardless of what session they are currently on). I would highly recommend Kaia to any woman looking for a supportive, caring, nonjudgmental workout environment. I find for myself I need to have the accountability of kaia and also I know that if I'm sore or if I slept wrong on my shoulder, I can still go and get a great workout with modifications from the coaches without judgement or pressure to try something I don't feel my body is ready for or can handle. They offer free classes to try it out, I would recommend for anyone even a little curious to come try it. Oh and just for reference I had lost about twenty pounds and 17 inches with kaia prior to my pregnancy, now I'm back working off the baby weight at my own pace and it's been great! read more

Hmmm where to start?? I first heard about Kaia through a friend,she was so pleased with the class and her results.Soon there after we met up for dinner and I was so shocked with the great results she achieved I had to give it a try. I've played sports my whole life,worked out and been in multiple boot camps,college work out classes etc and was getting tired of not seeing the results I intended on getting especially for the price.Same with the gym,I was getting sooo incredibly bored going to the gym every day,doing a little of this and a little of that and not ever seeing a change. I started Kaia 4 months ago,and It was the best decision I've made. Megan the teacher is so inspiring,positive,encouraging,supportive and such a pleasure to be around.She is never pushy, and you never have to do anything you dont feel like doing or cant do.there are different levels of intensity which is what makes this class so great.You can be any age and any fitness level to join. The class incorporates all different exercises to keep your body guessing so that your body is never getting used to the same old work out.Which was one of my biggest problems!! This class is absolutely amazing.I have showed along with everyone else in my class great results!! I don't even know where to start, Kaia F.I.T. is amazing. I do not work out...well rather I did not work out. I always hated going to the gym, I tried countless other exercise videos, classes and programs...and I didn't stick with them for more than a week...or really a few days. I was reluctant to try Kaia because I was afraid I'd be embarrased by just how out of shape I was, and that I would never be able to keep up. But I bit the bullet and took a one class trial, and after that hour I was totally hooked. Yeah maybe my legs ached for days, and I realized how many muscles I hadn't used in years...but it was an amazing feeling. A feeling of accomplishment...and I still feel that accomplishment after every class...just with less soreness....not none but a good sore now. I would have never thought I'd say that....but it's true. Pushing yourself for one hour, and realizing how much more you are capable of than you'd ever thought is amazing....and there is NO way I could do this without Megan ( the coach and owner). Megan is flat out amazing, she motivates you without ever making you feel bad about how much (or little) you can do. She is always helping with accomodations for those who are not comfortable pushing things that far. She inspires us with her abilities and fun up beat attitued...even at 5 AM. I mean really, who is that chipper at 5 AM. Having an amazingly supportive group of ladies encouraging you to push through and complete the work out is key, and Megan has fostered that relationship for us. I honestly can say that I have NEVER stuck to a program like this, I look forward to the classes, I'm a bit sad when it's over and feel great. It really is amazing how Kaia has changed me and continues to change me. I've always exercised but never been so physically addicted to it. I am depressed if I have to miss classes. I am a single mom, have a fulltime job, and in two bands. My schedule is insane, but I've found a way to make room for Kaia because I don't want to be without it. I was also always a pretty healthy eater but my relationship with food is changing too. My body craves nourishment from healthy foods more than ever. I'm addicted to greens, water, etc. If I don't have vegetables at every meal, something feels wrong. Don't always feel the need to have carbs ( even good ones). The girls and the comraderie are like a triple bonus. Not only can we not get enough at Kaia, we all sign up for extracurricular races together. The classes are full of sweat and laughter, it's the most fun and challenging thing I've ever done. My favorite part about the workouts themselves are that they are never the same. It never gets boring which is CRAZY. It's exciting too to see the changes in my muscles, your endurance, etc. Basically, I feel like a badass ( most of the time ;)) and there's nowhere to go but up. Last but not least, our 6PM coach Julia Page makes the workouts that much more fun with her adorable and outgoing personality. Perfect blend of goofiness and pushing you to workout harder.
