Nice and clean water fountain - and its free! I hate when studios try to sell you water, give me a break.

She's fantastic!…read more I am not someone who loves to work out, yet ever since I started going to Rei Pilates a few months ago, I find myself coordinating my calendar around how many times I can get there in a week. Something about the tone and vibe of the place (and Rei herself) is energizing. The workout is awesome. I've take pilates at numerous other studios and Rei's classes are the best. Her techniques and moves are fun, efficient, and effective. She switches it up and has you do just enough reps where you feel it working without pushing it to be painful and unpleasant. I've seen more results going to her classes for 6 months than I have in years of going to other studios. And she plays great music which makes the time fly by! The studio itself is clean, modern and bright. She has the new reformers which are sleeker and easier to use than the chunky older ones at other places. (She also stocks the cutest athletic clothes, which are fun to browse after a good workout.) Highly recommend!

She was so helpful to my daughter…read more(who's in great shape) and me (not so much) and was able to provide us with a routine that was both challenging and safe despite our dramatic physical differences. I also brought a girlfriend from out of town who's been taking pilates classes for years and she loved this one! Rei was very patient and very positive and provided me with information about how I should modify certain exercises based on my (hopefully temporary) physical limitations. I feel that with a couple more duet classes I'll be ready to join a regular class which I'm sure will be equally great. Thank you Rei Pilates!

Even though I moved…read moreacross the county several years ago and other Pilates studios are now closer to my house, I continue to come here. The atmosphere is very low key and friendly. The the instructors are dedicated to making the Pilates experience a good one. The studio is well-equipped, and in good, clean condition. And the owner is professional and accommodating. On the rare occasions when there has been a glitch in the service provided, she has made it right. The staff here are encouraging to newcomers to Pilates, but experienced enough to take more advanced students to the next level. If you have specific physical injuries or limitations, they work with you on modifications to the exercises. I have had private lessons with many of the instructors over the years, and almost all of them have been excellent. Classes are small (8 people maximum), and the instructors do their best to offer variety so you aren't doing the same exercises every time you come. There is much hype about Pilates, with claims that it "transforms your body." I'm not sure that Pilates alone will transform your body. Diet and cardio exercise are important, too. But I can say that adding Pilates twice a week to my fitness program over the years has made a huge difference for me-- my muscle tone (especially my abs), my flexibility, my body awareness and my general fitness have all improved as a result.

I'm primarily a Bikram…read moreyogi, so I was excited to see on the bio page that their instructor "Jimmy" managed the Bikram studio at North Beach in San Francisco; Bikram Choudhury's first yoga studio in the U.S. But twice I tried to attend his class and twice he was substituted by someone who was not a certified Bikram teacher. I don't want to ding the rating of the studio too much on a substitute, but 70% humidity at 105+ degrees was beyond what most students could handle and in both classes, the majority of the students left early. I didn't know what was the normal temp/humidity for the studio, but when more than 3/4 of the class walks out, they're not getting what they're paying for. I stayed in because I'm stubborn, but I really slacked off. Despite it being called a "Bikram" class, the order of the 26 postures was not followed; hopefully the regular instructors follow the script better. The other classes I took was a hot vinyasa class by Bryony. I liked the temperature there much better and even though I did not know all the postures, I was guided through them and corrected when needed. Bryony has a pleasant rhythm and walks around to check on everyone's progress. The studio has a women's and men's restroom with a shower. There are no lockers for your things, so don't bring in anything too valuable (even though this is a very quiet and safe area). Water and liquids are for sale, towels and yoga mats are available for rent, though first timers get a complimentary loaner set. It's a bit hard to find since the studio is at the side of a building, on a main road but in a section where the driver can only enter the lot from one direction.

I feel so good during and after the class! Diane is a wonderful instructor, very experienced and has an approach for different levels of students. She teaches Anusara Hatha yoga which connects asanas with spiritual aspects of the practice. I've been attending her classes twice a week for 3 years now.

I feel…read moreI am among friends while there, and my wife and I have made some good friends over the past few years, thanks to our association with the Yoga Station. In addition to Char and Ravi's classes that they personally teach, there is a good mix of instructors that naturally have different styles, so no two yoga sessions are the same. I would like to see more classes offered, particularly on Friday evenings, and also more of the restorative yoga, that is currently offered in only one slot on Wednesday evenings. I encourage more people to come here so that can happen! If you like yoga, you'll love the Yoga Station!
