View from the North Rim
Gerri B.

The weather was absolutely amazing while we were there. 50's at night and high 70's during the day. We were there in July 2022. The campground is about 45 minutes from the North Rim Grand Canyon. The camp ground was quiet and peaceful. The trees are abundant, nice area to walk the dogs, fire pits and picnic tables. Cons- -no Wi-Fi -you can literally reach out and touch your neighbor. the sites are ridiculously close. - one of the guys that help park people was rude. - fire pit was full of ash from the last camper Over all a nice place. Not sure I would stay again because of the closeness of the neighbor.

Closest Full RV Hook-up to the North Rim, yet still about an hour drive to the North Rim Visitor Center. Quiet. Shaded. Our Site (27) Backed up to trees, so somewhat secluded.

The sites are small. The people are friendly. An older RV/camper place. The electrical hookup is in the entrance to your site. But they were very nice to let us borrow an extension cord. The Cell service was on the "not working" side until we were leaving even though we had a cell tower right there and 4 bars. So a bit of a pain for getting info for the area or whatever you needed. But the people there made up for the lack of data and gave us lots of tips on what to see. If you are looking to camp close to the rim, this is not the place. It is about 40 minutes away. But the views are great when you get there. We also drove to Kanab and had dinner, data, and a slot canyon hike which was great.

Beautiful Campground. The only campground on the North Rim with full RV hookups. About 25 minutes to the Grand Canyon North Rim entrance kiosk, and another 25 minutes to the Grand Canyon Lodge and canyon rim. The campground is quiet and secluded. Sites are rustic, surrounded by tall pine trees. RV sites are rather close together, and most don't have campfire rings or picnic tables. There is a common area in the center of the campground that has picnic tables and fire rings, but only 7 or so. There is a gravel road next to the campground, and although I didn't see much traffic, some pickup trucks drove by mighty fast, stirring up a big cloud of dust. I'm glad we didn't have a site next to the road. Also, no cable, TV or wifi. There is a nice mile long trail through the forest that goes from the campground to Jacob Lake Inn. Jacob Lake Inn has a bakery that sells some fantastic cookies. Worth the hike. (There is no lake, just a small pond with no swimming or fishing.) Note: If you stay in the campground, be on the lookout for the extremely rare Kaibab white-tailed squirrel which can only be found on or near the north rim of the Grand Canyon. We saw several in the campground.

Cabin entrance on the left, showers/laundry on right, can't access the back side of building.

This review is only for the cabin they have there. The cabin itself is I'd say a 3/5. Nothing special but it gives your a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in if you need one. Negatives is it's in the corner of the camping area and in between a massive garage and is linked to the shower/laundry building. So when you're in the cabin, your hearing the washer and dryers running. Go outside and instead of looking into a nice meadow, your looking right at a garage, a bunch of trailers and old port o potties. You might even see a few people walking in/out of the shower nearly naked because you literally are right next to the showers. You are out in the corner with no place to grill, make your meals, or be outside relaxing and enjoying nature. Literally surrounded by trailers, and garages. Incredibly disappointed because they charge you $105 a night for the place and don't allow any refunds. Was hoping to be gone all day hiking/exploring and coming back to being able to cook my dinners or food on the grill in peace, quiet and hopefully not next to anyone but nope, you get none of that here (at the cabin) Camp ground for tent camping looked decent though! They also (at the time when I booked it) had some very misleading pictures of the cabin and the area surrounding it so I blame myself for not looking more into it I guess. It's Just simply disappointing and couldn't get a refund (I didn't stay more than 20 minutes before we decided to leave). Please offer a refund policy, especially if your pictures are misleading and put your guests in the corner near your storage facility.

The amenities alone stand out--clean, well-lit facilities, warm showers, and even heated floors (yes, heated floors!). Everything is thoughtfully provided on an honor system, which adds to the welcoming, trusting atmosphere. When we arrived, we realized we had accidentally booked our stay one day too early. Instead of turning us away, they graciously offered us a boondocking spot and invited us to a once-a-week complimentary dinner for all guests. It turned into a wonderful evening around the fire pit, connecting with fellow travelers. Meeting the owners was an added highlight--they were as warm and inviting as the meal they shared. We feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled upon this special place in the middle of such a beautiful desert.

This the coolest, cleanest, most well put together campground we have every stayed in. Not to mention the amazing views. The shared area for lounging and relaxing is so well appointed and just kind of magical. The owners are just terrific, friendly people and made us feel so welcome. I was about to pay for my ice-cream and the owner who we were chatting with said NO it was on him. There are so many little touches and thoughtful things at your disposal. They have really thought of everything. We are coming back in late fall for an extended stay and can't wait.

The pull through were really sizable not a problem to get in and out of with plenty of room. Picnic table was metal and plastic topped and was sitting on cement which was great. It has a fence all the way around the property and it was located a little bit on the edge of town, which is nice. We like those kind of RV spots. The water was really good. It did have a lot of pressure (which the RV company makes mention of so that you're prepared and if you do not have a water pressure gauge, they have them but you would need to be to their office before four when they close) so we just used our water pressure attachment to the spicot and everything was fine. It's a very doable problem. I would rather have too much pressure than not enough. we were just passing through and we spent one night but it was very pleasant. It was quiet, but it was quite windy. That's for sure but I think there's a lot of wind that comes through that area anyway we would definitely stay here again.

From my experience as a licensed pool operator this would be the temperature without any heating with an ambient temperature in the mid 90's. I was told that without heating the pool temp would be in the 60's. Oh, really? Clearly, this was all an attempt to reduce operating expenses during the off season.

The bathrooms are truly top-of-the-line--spotless, modern, and better maintained than many hotels. The entire property is incredibly clean and well cared for, which made the stay that much more comfortable. The RV sites are spacious, well laid out, and offer a beautiful view that really elevates the whole experience. One detail I especially appreciated was the kitchen sink area for washing dishes--such a simple feature, but so convenient and thoughtfully provided. What really sets this place apart, though, is the host. They were genuinely kind, welcoming, and full of great recommendations for things to do in the area. That personal touch made all the difference. And the value? Unmatched. With prices starting around $30, it's hard to believe you're getting this level of quality. Honestly, this campground surpasses any RV site I've stayed at. I would recommend this place to anyone, anytime. Already looking forward to coming back!
