The weather was absolutely amazing while we were there. 50's at night and high 70's during the day. We were there in July 2022. The campground is about 45 minutes from the North Rim Grand Canyon. The camp ground was quiet and peaceful. The trees are abundant, nice area to walk the dogs, fire pits and picnic tables. Cons- -no Wi-Fi -you can literally reach out and touch your neighbor. the sites are ridiculously close. - one of the guys that help park people was rude. - fire pit was full of ash from the last camper Over all a nice place. Not sure I would stay again because of the closeness of the neighbor. read more

Great RV and tent camping site located about an hour North of the North Rim of the Grand Canyon! We had a pull through site, 50 Amp full hookups. No issues with electricity, water pressure or sewer. Hosts are super friendly and nice, and welcomed us to the campground. The sites are somewhat close together as others have mentioned, but I didn't have any issues with my 39 foot travel trailer navigating through the camp nor the sites. Overall, plenty of space between the sites. We usually frequent KOAs and KOAs are notorious for close spots. Here, however, they aren't as tight as KOAs and they've done an amazing job at not trying to cut down trees. The shade for the sites is excellent. Campground is peaceful at night, and overall, we greatly enjoyed our stay here. If you have a RV or travel trailer and can't access the main NPS sites, this is a great option. If we come back, I'll definitely stay here again. read more

We requested an available space on the map when making reservation. Even though it was vacant, we were squeezed into a smaller space with our picnic table seated next to our neighbors sewer drain hose.. yuck!! Our dog (labradoodle-on a leash), got excited and barked a bit when the very close neighbors arrived at their trailer after being gone. We immediately began calming, and quieting her. We realize nobody enjoys a barking dog. The man camp host ran over to our site, and started yelling at us to get that barking dog inside our trailer.. what? We told him we were taking care of it, but his aggressiveness now really had our dog barking, because we all felt threatened. We took her inside, and left a day early, even though we had already paid for this anything but relaxing experience. We won't be back! read more

The sites are small. The people are friendly. An older RV/camper place. The electrical hookup is in the entrance to your site. But they were very nice to let us borrow an extension cord. The Cell service was on the "not working" side until we were leaving even though we had a cell tower right there and 4 bars. So a bit of a pain for getting info for the area or whatever you needed. But the people there made up for the lack of data and gave us lots of tips on what to see. If you are looking to camp close to the rim, this is not the place. It is about 40 minutes away. But the views are great when you get there. We also drove to Kanab and had dinner, data, and a slot canyon hike which was great. read more

Beautiful Campground. The only campground on the North Rim with full RV hookups. About 25 minutes to the Grand Canyon North Rim entrance kiosk, and another 25 minutes to the Grand Canyon Lodge and canyon rim. The campground is quiet and secluded. Sites are rustic, surrounded by tall pine trees. RV sites are rather close together, and most don't have campfire rings or picnic tables. There is a common area in the center of the campground that has picnic tables and fire rings, but only 7 or so. There is a gravel road next to the campground, and although I didn't see much traffic, some pickup trucks drove by mighty fast, stirring up a big cloud of dust. I'm glad we didn't have a site next to the road. Also, no cable, TV or wifi. There is a nice mile long trail through the forest that goes from the campground to Jacob Lake Inn. Jacob Lake Inn has a bakery that sells some fantastic cookies. Worth the hike. (There is no lake, just a small pond with no swimming or fishing.) Note: If you stay in the campground, be on the lookout for the extremely rare Kaibab white-tailed squirrel which can only be found on or near the north rim of the Grand Canyon. I tent camped here for several weeks in 2022. It was such a great experience, and I would truly be remiss not to share. The campground was exceptionally clean with very low dust, I had no problem with rodents, and after 10pm, it is QUIET. As in pin-drop quiet. Their "no generator" policy (even during the day) was so appreciated. The porta-potties were always clean, there are outdoor handwashing sinks, a laundry room (coin-op), showers (also coin-op), fire rings and picnic tables at each site, a little store in the office for convenience items.....pretty much all that one could need (except wifi, but I had a decent enough T-Mobile signal for web surfing). The tent sites have trees for shade, also. I had a dog with me, and there were foxtails on the property which are potentially dangerous to dogs. I asked one of the maintenance guys (Ron) if I could cut them down (fully willing to do it myself), but he generously did it for me, for which I was so grateful. My stay was all-around excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to stay again. A big thanks to the owners, Shelly, Ron, Ginny and Alan. They all went above and beyond to make Kaibab Camper Village a terrific place to stay. :) read more

This is the only campground with full hookups on the north rim. We stayed 3 days and had a pleasant stay. It was pretty quiet and although the place was full, most people were out exploring much of the day. One thing to note is that each site does not have its own dump station. Only some sites have dump stations. The park is down a dirt road about a mile from the highway to the Grand Canyon. So it feels secluded amongst the pretty pine trees. They have laundry and showers on site. I would have given more stars, but the toilets and showers left a lot to be desired. The toilets are porto-pottys. The showers were old, musty, and moldy, plus they cost $2.50 per 5 mins. Also the sites are very close together. You get minimal privacy from the neighbors. read more

When we arrived to the campsite we were so disappointed! The "cabin" was very poorly maintained and old. It was not a cabin, it seemed to be a room and bathroom apart of an old trailer home. We had to use sticks and hangers to open the windows. For $105 a night, we should have stayed up the street at the local motel (for $128). Our room attached to the laundry room and restrooms for the campsite, in the storage area of the campsite. Very noisy! Awful views. No area to sit outside. The location of the cabin was terrible. Management was not understanding the need to leave early. No refunds. Go elsewhere!! The pictures posted on their website are misleading. read more

This review is only for the cabin they have there. The cabin itself is I'd say a 3/5. Nothing special but it gives your a roof over your head and a bed to sleep in if you need one. Negatives is it's in the corner of the camping area and in between a massive garage and is linked to the shower/laundry building. So when you're in the cabin, your hearing the washer and dryers running. Go outside and instead of looking into a nice meadow, your looking right at a garage, a bunch of trailers and old port o potties. You might even see a few people walking in/out of the shower nearly naked because you literally are right next to the showers. You are out in the corner with no place to grill, make your meals, or be outside relaxing and enjoying nature. Literally surrounded by trailers, and garages. Incredibly disappointed because they charge you $105 a night for the place and don't allow any refunds. Was hoping to be gone all day hiking/exploring and coming back to being able to cook my dinners or food on the grill in peace, quiet and hopefully not next to anyone but nope, you get none of that here (at the cabin) Camp ground for tent camping looked decent though! They also (at the time when I booked it) had some very misleading pictures of the cabin and the area surrounding it so I blame myself for not looking more into it I guess. It's Just simply disappointing and couldn't get a refund (I didn't stay more than 20 minutes before we decided to leave). Please offer a refund policy, especially if your pictures are misleading and put your guests in the corner near your storage facility. read more

I just got home from a long weekend stay. The hosts were very pleasant. Tom led us to our site. He gave us a choice, but we followed his recommendation. We have an overlanding trailer with a rooftop tent and an annex with an awning on the opposite side of the annex. We were worried about space, but we got the perfect site. We quickly set up and Tom checked in on us. Very enjoyable stay. The showers were fine. I heard reviews that they were gross, but they were as clean as could be expected considering they are "public" showers. I would reccomend this place. Very friendly and helpful staff. Tom even recommended places to stay for when we do some dispersed camping. read more

This was a very nice campground. We stayed at a tent site, so I can't speak about the RV sites. We had our own picnic table under pines for shade, and had a fire pit. (Fire restrictions prevented use, that's a National Forest mandate; but we had our own so in the future we will have a fire.) I can't understand the bad reviews about the campground, maybe there have been changes, because it was everything a campground should be. The bathrooms were clean port a potties that were emptied daily. The showers must have been renovated, because it was clean with hot water, and it looked new. There's even a huge handicapped one if you need more space. There was plenty of space at our campsite. It was quiet and we had a view of the forest that was peaceful to look at while drinking our morning coffee. The Grand Canyon was less than an hour away so it was a great place to stay and day trip to the canyon. The staff was friendly and helpful. They even had a selection of ice cream novelties that helped for the hot summer afternoon. And there was a trail from the campground to a cafe and convenience store just a mile away that weaved through the forest and made for a nice walk. I will be returning and enjoying this campground for years to come. read more

The campground is about an hour away from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon which was nice. The only complaint we had was that the spots were too close together, but sometimes that's expected in an RV Park! read more

The sites were super close together. The picnic tables were communal because the campers were too close to put them between them. There was not enough space to even put lawn chairs out. The people in the office were not nice. We left and went to the campground at Jacob's Lake. The hook-up for electricity was not worth being that uncomfortable. read more

Enjoyed a few days here while touring the North Rim plus Antelope Canyon near Page, AZ. Laundry facility was fine. Hookups good. In the middle of the Ponderosa Pines on top of the Kaibab Plateau was wonderful. Campground quiet. No outside firewood allowed and not all sites have fire pits. Area in center for public fires. Dog runs were great. Didn't use the paid showers but seemed adequate. read more

After reading some negative reviews I was apprehensive to stay here but went ahead and booked...and we're glad we did! We had a terrific time! The two gals in the office were very helpful and had a positive attitude. We were treated like we mattered. They guided us into our space and were very patient. The sites are even (bubble on) and lined with Pine trees. We asked for a pull-thru site with full hook-ups and that's exactly what we got. The weather was great - 72 degrees. We even spotted the elusive Kaibab Squirrel! We stayed 3 nights and would definitely recommend this campground. read more

We made reservations 6 months in advance. A few weeks before we camped, they called and told us they were moving us to different sites. We ended up in Sites 1 and 2 so every vehicle that came in passed us. It rained a lot too and when we backed our trailer in, everything was covered in mud due to the lack of gravel that was in other areas. It is quiet, but not impressed with sites. There was no dog walk inside of campground and no fire pit on own site, although with fire restrictions, couldn't use them anyway. There were no play areas for children either. Was told not to put water into our holding tank. Why? Not sure. We paid for water but were not allowed to fully use it. Best part of the park was it's proximity to the North Rim Grand Canyon. Temperatures were great although it rained almost everyday, but then, it was during the monsoon season. Man in office was full of information about places to see. Used his knowledge of the area to take additional side trips. We probably would not stay there again if we were ever to go back to the North Rim. read more

They advertise full hook up but will charge for water to fill tanks :( Two washers & dryers. $2.25 for shower but one was not in service and a couple who attempted to use shower said it was COLD. She was NOT a happy camper. The sites are very close together with minimal privacy.... Think getto RV where you can peek into other RVs because you are wedged in so close to each other. Also, we wary of the portapotties because I was trapped in one the first time and the next time, the faulty bolt did not function correctly when another camper pulled on the handle. YIKES! All things considered, I'd recommend the Forestry Service RV camp over Kaibab. We were told that Kaibab was the only dump in the area but found out later that DeMotte has a dump station. read more

Not very impressed or unimpressed with this place. The pro is that it is the closest full hook-up RV campsite to the Grand Canyon - North Rim (42 miles from the park). The sites are too close together compared to most any other place I have visited. Literally, you step out the door of your RV and your practically on top of your neighbor. Beyond that, I like to use campground showers and toilets and not use mine when possible, but their toilets are an unwelcoming step above a port-a-potty and they only have two showers, which can be a wait with more than a couple of people wanting to take showers at the same time. The campground is clean and the staff were very helpful. We did not like all the gunfire in the morning and it concerned many campers on the campground. I would stay here again if there wasn't anything else available, but not my first choice. read more

Visiting the North Rim? Need a place to stay June 1st? Stay at the Kaibab Camper Village on us, as we've been charged for the night with no chance of a refund even though we've canceled more than 2 months out from our scheduled visit. Read further to get the details... We booked two spots a month or so ago for a June 1st visit. Then, unexpectedly, we adopted a dog. I did some research and found out that dogs are not allowed at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We don't feel good about boarding our new rescue as she'd been shuffled around--from shelter to foster home--before we adopted her. So, we obviously need to change our plans. The South Rim of the Grand Canyon allows dogs into the park and on at least one trail. I checked RV resorts near the South Rim and came across a place that will hold a spot with NO CHARGE with the requirement that you cancel within 72 hours of your reservation to be given a full refund. Very reasonable. Excellent policy. THE KAIBAB CAMPER VILLAGE (UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT) AT THE NORTH RIM WILL NOT GIVE A REFUND, NO MATTER WHAT. No matter that it's about 2 and 1/2 months out before your scheduled visit and no matter that they are the only RV park near the North Rim with full hook-ups that can undoubtedly fill your space with other visitors--especially if given 2 and 1/2 months to do so. I'd left a message detailing the reason for our need to cancel--that we adopted a dog and that the North Rim doesn't allow dogs--and received a return call. I was informed that they can adjust our reservation if the date doesn't work, and that their campground is dog friendly, but that they will not refund the first night. The person who left the message also said she had no idea if the North Rim allows dogs (which I didn't ask, as I already did the research). Here's my reason for the one star review. Their no refund policy is simply A VERY BAD POLICY. They can have that policy because they have no competition at the North Rim. I would urge the new owners of Kaibab Camper Village to change that policy to be more customer friendly. People make plans and things come up. That's life. A 72-hour policy is very reasonable. Even a two week policy would be reasonable. But 2 and 1/2 months is not. ALSO, I believe it would be VERY UNETHICAL for Kaibab Camper Village to rent out the two spots they will not refund us on for June 1st. If they won't refund, then the spots are ours whether we show or not. To double book would be totally dishonest. So, I offer up our two spots--BI, 32 R and PT, 42 R--for the night of Friday, June 1st, 2018. Just direct Kaibab Camper Village management to this review and the spots should be yours for the night. Stayed here early part of September and highly recommend it. It is the only campground in the area offering full hook-ups. Grounds were maintained and staff were most helpful. Within 1/2 mile walking distance to the Jacob Lake Inn and market, also has a Chevron station.This campsite is an ideal location for visiting the North Rim and surrounding areas. One thing to keep in mind is that Jacob lake is more a POND than a lake but the three horses grazing around the pond were friendly. If you prefer to Boon-dock the national forest land in the surrounding area offers many places to set up camp and has a 14 day limit. Recommend Kaibab Camper Village and will stay again when in the area. read more

Stayed here in the end of July on a weekend and there wasn't a lot of campers. It was a beautiful campground surrounded by large trees. Full hookups and fire pits available! Only 40 minutes from the North Rim Visitor Center. Very peaceful and clean vacuity u. They have showers, a laundry room, and a mini store for campers. I recommend staying here and I know that we will definitely return soon! read more

Stayed early sept. Staff was awful, they put us in a spot right next to a staff members permanent spot, We had their satellite dish in our campsite. None of the hookup sites have fire pits, community pits only. Old guy in a golf cart yells at you every time the flames are over 2 feet out of the pit. Dirt road that you come in on and that runs behind the campground has constant traffic and dust. We will not be back. read more

We stayed at Kaibab Camper Village on August 6th. At this very same time, there was a group of young people staying in the tent area. When I tried to use the laundry area, they were all crowded in there, some were sitting on the washing machines and dryers. I tried to use the showers and they kept knocking on the door, sort of a game? The noise they made all night long was deafening. The onsite owners don't seem to care. I would probably not return to this campground if these are the kind of "guests" they approve of. read more

Stayed here 3 nights in July. Nice campground at a reasonable rate. Had to park the truck next to the trailer but didn't matter. Spots plenty big enough. Didn't use the public showers or laundry so no comment on those amenities. Office staff nice. Office sold ice and other needed items. We left a day early as the north rim had a fire and was mostly closed and we headed up to Zion. read more

Very clean, very well situated for exploring the North Rim area. The staff really went out of their way to make us comfortable. Horseback riding right across the highway, great restaurant and gas station within a mile. For those dry camping bring a flash light, the very clean porta-potties are a bit dark after sunset. Lots of trees and full hook-ups, fire pits and firewood is available from the hosts. read more

We stayed here for one night with the purpose of visiting the North Rim and doing a bit of hiking. It's a nice, pretty campsite with adequately spaced sites in a serene setting. It's about 40 minutes from the North Rim so perfect if you want to take the day to explore the park but not necessarily stay there. We had plenty of time to hike, visit the old lodge and drive along to the various breathtaking sites along the rim. Pack a lunch and plenty of water. There's also a nice mile walk from the campsite over to Jacob's Inn, a quaint historic old inn worth a stop into. If your purpose for traveling to this area is like ours, Kaibab Camper Village is just right. read more

This place is beautiful and quiet. Easy to find right off of hwy 67. We had reservations and got a great lot. Everything worked great. Most sites have full hookups. Some sites have fire pits. The whole park is shaded by tall pines....just beautiful! I'd stay here again. read more

We were very happy with this campground. We stayed for 2 nights. There is a small campground before this one and we almost stopped there and decided to drive on! The other one had no shade or privacy, this one is in the woods and is very private and there is a little store and a lending library! The bathrooms (outhouses) are pretty clean and there are showers and laundry if needed. It was $18 for a tent spot, which we felt was very reasonable for what we got. It is about 40 miles from the rim and there is also a little cafe and bakery/store right down the road. Its a great place to stay when going to visit the North Rim. We did not make reservations and there were plenty of spots available. read more

I stayed here for 10 days in early July. The manager, Mike...but you can call him Fred if you wish (g)...was super friendly and helpful. My site was spacious and the other campers very friendly and courteous. A very cosmopolitan clientele from all over the world. Made some nice friends there...a Romanian couple from Las Vegas. I planned to stay 2 weeks but left early on account of the frequent monsoon rain. All in all a very pleasant experience. read more

This is the only rv friendly park in the north rim area. We stayed there in july 2011. It is a nice quiet camp ground with lots of trees and full hookups. We will go back - great atv trails right from the campground. Some of the sites are small and close to the dirt road. read more

Janet wears the pants, what she says goes and if you don't like it, get out and no refund! store if you want to call it, food if found check the code date before buying, camping or r.v. items don't expect to find. plan ahead because if you don't you will be running to kanib, Utah for needed supplies. showers and bathrooms, have not been updated for at least 30 years. it seems as tho that they like charging expensive prices and no interest in updating anything for the campers. nice area but the worst campground ever stayed in! again if you are not happy with your site oh well! no refunds, just leave! these people are so cheap they will not even supply wi-fi for the campers. sites are not level, most sights are so small it is hard to back in. electric is so old good luck with appliances 30amp only, water is mixed with bleach bad tasting. stay at the Grand Canyon on the north rim or the other two campgrounds on the plateau, yes dry camping but nicer campgrounds. they also hate anyone on a motorcycle! so go luck read more
