I've literally been with the same accountant all my life; the same one my parents use. However this…read morewas finally the year I had to find someone else to file our taxes (And No, I'm never going to file my own. I've heard that advice before "just file your own, it's easy.) I contacted 4 different local accounting service businesses and ultimately decided on Hongda & Gil Tax. I made an appointment and drove down at the end of February. Since it was my first time, they did have to get copies of our Drivers' licenses. I came alone, but happened to have a photo of my husband's and emailed it. During the initial set up, I waited in a common break room. They had water, coffee and vending machine if you wanted any snacks. After waiting about 10 minutes, I went in for my actual appointment. Everything was fairly quick, I was asked a few questions, provided advice on things to change on our W4, and told how much I would get back and what I owed. I checked my direct deposit a couple weeks later and saw I had already received by money back from the State! LOL The fee was also reasonable; just a tad higher than what my previous accountant charged, but the processes was really smooth and so fast. Definitely coming here again next year.

I scheduled my tax appointment in early February, but as of mid-March, it has still not been filed. He is the accountant for my husband's business, which is why we went to him for our personal taxes, and it has been nothing but a joke. He is asking for information he should have as our business accountant. We have called countless times, and he REFUSES to call us back. My husband just gets emails saying he will file everything soon but gives us no real update or an actual date to when he will file. We can't even file with someone else because he still has not given us our K-1 form from the business. This place is awful, and I would recommend looking for someone else if you are looking for an accountant for your business or your personal taxes.

Took our taxes to Fox and Stephens as per their advertisement says they're combined years of…read moreexperience is at least over 30, so I figured I was going to be getting some professional service. We had several personal issues and needed to get our corporate taxes done quickly. Granted we had three years worth of taxes to catch up on and we were assigned to Matthew Holland. Things started out OK at first, but then went downhill. Long story short, we went to their office a minimum of two times and when we got on the phone with the IRS, I found out our taxes were never electronically filed. When I contacted Fox and Stephens they said it was because we did not sign the forms. I had also assembled all documents for them to process everything correctly. They were to enter all paperwork etc., which I had meticulously put in labeled hanging file folders and in a bankers box. After all that work, I had their employees calling me asking where certain things were. I told them to look in the box I had assembled everything and they have every receipt there is, plus they had access to my QuickBooks account as well as my bank account. Then with the last year due, Matthew told us their company upgraded their system and our Windows and QuickBooks were too old and we would need to upgrade our hard drive, windows and QuickBooks version. We upgraded everything (NOT CHEAP). Found out later our hard drive was more than adequate. Also found out they entered NO CUSTOMER ACCOUNT INFORMATION INTO QUICKBOOKS, no bank reconciliations were done either. It should have been a red flag when they asked for payment up front too. When I kept asking for the information they just kept sending the completed tax forms when I was was waiting for the QuickBooks data. Matthew emailed stating he didn't understand what I needed, so I gave up. If you don't want to have to end up doing the work you pay somebody else to do, do not use this company. They are the worst accountants we have ever used and do not recommend them to anybody. If we could give negative zero stars we would. VERY DISAPPOINTED.
