Plus, his complaint about Kailua Cardiology not taking HMSA is bunk, as I have HMSA. He's about as petty as they come. That said, Dr. Markarian and her nurse, John, and the rest of the staff are hands down the best. Wouldn't trust my life with anyone else. Dr Markarian, her nurse John and the. Rest of the staff plus Dr Jodi have treated me very well for many years. I had cardiomyopathy and met Dr Markarian because I needed a great cardiologist and she took great care of me and I was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. Dr Jodi has an office at the same location and I began seeing her to learn what I needed to do to heal. I no longer have Congestive Heart Failure and I am no longer pre-diabetic and now I am living well. Thank you Dr Markarian and Dr Jodi and your entire staff. I can't give this place a zero. Sent in all my paperwork then they said that because I have HMSA they can't do certain things that are covered by insurance. So is it the doctor that's about money or the company she uses to get her clients? All I have to say it's pure garbage. read more

I was referred to Dr. Markarian because I was concerned about an old innocent murmur, by doc Jodi. Dr Markarian is such a sweet Dr. I love her and her staff. Super welcoming. Visited her 3x. She's very informative and takes her time making sure I understood her. Yes I love asking questions. She share an office with Dr Jodi which is amazing. Even if I live on the other side of the island I would still drive there and not complain how far it is. Which I do with my other appts with pcp, obgyn, dentist and etc which are only 15-25 mins away lol. Besides I love the scenic views going there. Who runs up and down that stairs to the office...? Dr.Markarian is a very caring and professional doctor. She was very attentive to my needs and very thorough throughout my entire stress test. She was encouraging and entrusting while I jogged on the machine. Dr. Marcarian is extremely skilled AND has a wonderful bedside manner (Yes, it's possible to have both!). She treats the whole patient, not just symptoms I consider her to be one of the more progressive cardiologists on the island, as evidenced by her wise choice to hire Dr. Jodi (also fabulous)! Dr. Markarian has been my personal cardiologist for many years. She also took great care of my father. She is an excellent listener with many years of experience who cares deeply for her patients. Unlike many doctors these days, she still accepts Medicare and Medicaid to help the people of Hawaii. She is definitely not "in it for the money." Additionally, she believes in pre-emptive care and preventing heart attacks, heart failure, and cardiovascular disease. It's a nice change from seeing someone who barely gets to know you then looks at your labs and prescribes medications without asking the right questions, which seems to be the premise of Western medicine these days. I've been gaslit by physicians before and I talk to people. So many of us are frustrated with the care we've received.
