I've been going to Dr Chui's office for various procedures (cosmetic and medical) for years. The staff is very friendly and efficient and the office with all of Dr Chiu's collectibles from travel, friends and otherwise makes any sort of wait pass quickly. Dr Chui's professionalism, experience in various procedures and approach to care is appreciated indeed. Never felt rushed and always felt taken care off. The septoplasty/turbinate reduction she recently performed on me was painless and the setup for outpatient surgery and follow up went smooth. read more

I called the office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Chiu. The office manager/receptionist was problematic from the start, including questioning why I would call Dr. Chiu about auditory processing. I gave her a number of reasons including a severe ear infection, as their website says that Dr. Chiu is an audiologist. After a couple of hours she called me back. She said the doctor says we don't treat or test for the majority of what is listed on the website and definitely not vestibular issues (see enclosed photo.) Perhaps its time to take down or update your website then? read more

I had an appointment at 2:00 and ended up being seen an hour later...when no one was even being seen as thats the time they reopen. Not only that, the receptionist is very sweet but does not do well with organization. She lost my documents, forgot the time she scheduled me for, and just made up the cost for my co-pay, literally! The most disheartening part was that the doctor was demeaning. She questioned my health conditions and didn't believe I had what I had listed. She made assumptions about the issue I was seeing her for without even looking at it. I wrote in the questionnaire what my pcp believed it was and she disregarded it, telling me it was something else. Until she looked at it and my pcp was right. It was rather an unwelcoming and draining experience for my first visit and I will be searching for a new ENT doctor. read more

Experience, professional, personable - a complete package. Often when we need to see the Dr we don't have the medical terminology to explain our symptoms. Dr. Chiu took her time listening to the issues, asked questions and diagnosed through conversation as well as examination. It's rare and wonderful not feeling rushed in an appt. Scheduling the referral appt can get complicated, but Gayle was an absolute whiz! I would highly recommend this office. read more

People who know me well, know that I 1) hate going to the doctor 2) am particular and hate finding new doctors. That being said, it was time to get established with a new Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) specialist, a task that I had been putting off for 2 years. The catalyst for my seeking out Dr. Chiu is that I have recently moved work locations to Kailua, and I'm within walking distance of oodles of professional & medical offices. When my former ENT recommended her friend, Dr. Chiu, I was happy to know that first of all, my former ENT recommended her, and second, that they are friends. That speaks volumes to me. Of course other Yeeps' reviews also helped. When you first enter Dr. Chiu's office, brace yourself: she must be an avid collector, because the entire space is a collectibles showcase. There is SO much to see that you won't need any reading material. If you're a collector, you'll want to go to see the doctor just to check out all the stuff!! While some might consider the "museum" of collectibles to be stimulus overload. I say "What better way to distract you from what ails you?" So much to see, so little time!! Alana, the receptionist, is very friendly. I wonder how often she has to look at side or back of the patients' heads when she's talking to them, since they're so busy looking at everything around them! But really, she's efficient and professional, as well as friendly. Dr. Chiu is very warm, down to earth and easy to talk to. She has a way of explaining things that isn't dumbing anything down, but makes sense to us lay people. She was also excellent at reading my "Hah??" expressions and backed up to explain her reasoning without my needing to ask. My first visit yesterday was simply to get established, so that I can just stroll across the street to see her when I have an ENT need. Being super thorough, Alana and Dr. Chiu had noticed from information in my paperwork and from observation that I have some cold symptoms that still haven't quit for over a month so the good doctor also treated me for those. After my appointment yesterday, I was so happy with Dr. Chiu that I told a couple of friends, and it looks like they'll be scheduling appointments with her as well. I love when I find a doc that I like and am happy to recommend to others! read more

Went to Dr Chiu's office yesterday morning after work to establish care and for some dizziness issues. I was referred to Dr. Chiu by several friends and family members. They all raved about Dr. Chiu. Being from the medical profession, I can appreciate a great doctor and great care. Dr. Chiu far exceeded this! Best ENT I've ever been too hand down! I went in for a nose bleed she did a thural check of my Ears, Nose and Throat and found I had a large goiter. Dr Chiu ordered a cat scan and found that my goiter was so big it was pushing against my wind pipe. I was in shock we scheduled my surgery date with her and she took care of everything from then. I can't say how happy I am to have found a dr who actually cared. I will recommend her to EVERYONE! read more

Terrible Doctor: we were referred through our health care network. First, the doctor's affliction with kids toys is really bizzarre. Then, you will notice tons of medications and "snake oil" type of remedies she is selling. But, in our case, she pushed medicine prescriptions on the patient in our family who had very adverse reactions and also: after seeing another physician - we found out that the medicines she prescribed were dangerous and not indicated for the symptoms our family member was experiencing. We had severe medical inconvenience because of this doctor, and she responded to us with a lack of confidence and with attempts to cover her tracks. Very bad doctor, our issue came around Holloween and I could only thing of her as a witch doctor!! read more

First I am going to say I always regarded Dr. Chiu as an Excellent Doctor and was happy to find her after my regular ENT, Dr. Dierdorff retired. I have been a Patient of Dr. Chiu's for Over 10 Years, and actually went to her for all my sinus problems, and colds, because I would get Chronic Sinus Infections for being Highly Allergic and also Asthma problems. In fact I was seeing just her for those exact reasons, which brought me in more often than others! Don't know what happened but I was eventually told I needed to see my PCP and not see Dr. Chiu all the time for those specific problems, even though I had that Highly Allergic problem and she Knows my History...I felt bad but I listened. Fast forward to present...it has been 3-4 years since seeing Dr. Chiu. I have retired, and my union put me straight into HMSA's Akamai Advantage Plus Program, and here lies the problem...because I haven't seen Dr. Chiu in that time, and a few months ago and again today, 11/22/19, I tried again to make an appointment with Dr. Chiu, and again as the other time, I am considered a "New Patient", even though they're the ones that told me to see my PCP?! And, because of "New Patient" status, and that I am now on the "Akamai Advantage Plus" Medical coverage they are Denying me an appointment, "...we don't like using the Akamai Advantage...", that was per office and I think from Dr. Chiu also?! What if they hadn't told me to stop seeing Dr. Chiu for my Chronic Respiratory problems those years ago? What if I had been an ongoing active patient, which I would have? Would they deny me once I went into the Akamai Program after retiring? This is why it's so frustrating...I thought we had a great Doctor/Patient, friends, relationship. I had to write this, I'm so disappointed! She's an Excellent doctor that knows my history from being her patient for such a long time...and now I have to search for a new ENT?! An ENT who treats migraines too? Awesome! Dr. Chiu is amazing! I was looking for an ENT for my allergies/sinus problems, which I thought were causing severe sinus headaches. A friend of mine referred me to Dr. Chiu. She was so thorough and really made an effort to understand my history, symptoms and what my headaches were like. She concluded that my headaches were actually migraines. I doubt there are many ENTs who treat migraines. I'm grateful that Dr. Chiu didn't say that she couldn't help me and refer me to another specialist. In fact, it was just the opposite. Having had several patients who had been misdiagnosed with sinus headaches when they were actually experiencing migraines, Dr. Chiu took it upon herself to learn about migraines and how to treat them. She had me start a migraine diary, so I could track my triggers and avoid them in the future. She also prescribed medication, which has helped tremendously with the pain, as well as changed my nasal spray. I continue to see Dr. Chiu for my allergies/sinus problems as well as migraines, but I must say that she's gotten them under the control. read more

Dr.Chiu is awesome. Her and her staff make you feel welcome as soon as you make the call. When I walked in the office I was a little thrown off by all the collectibles. But it made the wait more enjoyable. As soon as I was taken into the back she made me feel very welcomed and answered all questions I had. Went to visit my favorite ENT on the planet, Dr. Linda Chiu MD. I forgot to mention that when my asthma was out of control, she was the only doctor that noticed and made sure that I was using my inhalers properly. She is so smart. Even though that was not her area of medicine, she knew that could be part of my problem with breathing in addition to my nasal congestion. She is incredible doctor, and a life saver. If I had any type of ENT emergency, she is the one person, I would want to take care of me. Incredible and excellent ENT. The best on Oahu. I have met other people from Oahu who went to the Mainland who were patients of Dr. Linda Chiu as well. They also raved about her. Small world! :) read more

I will only go to Dr, Chiu for my recurrent vestibular meniere's/ vertigo. I was living in a literal "hell on earth" until I met Dr. Chiu. She has been the most helpful doctor I have seen to help treat my disease. Very well spoken and educated, yet is able to make me understand what I need to do in order to be healthy. I am now a productive citizen again. I cannot thank her or her wonderful office staff, like Okahi, enough. If you have ear, nose and or throat issues, this is your last stop. read more

Every single time I've seen Dr. Chiu, she has seen me 45 minutes to one hour behind schedule. The last appointment I had began 45 minutes late, and instead of prescribing any medicine for a raging sinus infection, she spent 20 minutes asking me the same questions I'd filled out on my forms on my very first visit, correcting data-entry errors in my grandparents and parents illnesses. When I called back a few days later to tell her I was indeed hacking up yellow stuff and indeed, I needed antibiotics, her office assistant promised me she would call me back by 5pm that evening which was a Friday. Never heard anything. Ever. I still have a sinus infection that keeps coming back on me. I do not recommend this doctor. She seemed irritated that I refused a flu shot. I guess the most insulting part is that all six of my visits over the past three years have been sinus infections she has treated with antibiotics in the past. Why she didn't trust me to know my own body is mind-boggling. Linda, you might try actually listening to your patients in the future. And refrain from asking if the data-entry person knows maternal means mother in front of clients. Sheesh. Three hours of wasted time. read more
