Super disappointed with this place. Waited on the wait list for my safety and I finally received a call to get my safety done. The person that does it was SUPER rude. My tint was peeling a little bit towards the rear and they said you can't see through it, there for we can't pass the car. Like... you can clearly see out my window just fine. The owner always treated my uncle with the utmost respect and compassion. Often giving him something to drink. He also takes care of my son's truck. Trick or Treat! It's Halloween and I got me a low air tire! Not sure if I have a flat tire or just low tire! After work, this is around 6:25 pm, I headed to Kaimuki Auto Repair. This is not my first time here but I'm always happy and leave this place with a smile. Tonight, I was serviced by Kekoa. Super friendly and attentive. He checked all four tires but the light was still on. I showed him the light and he realized it wasn't just the four running tires but also the spare tire. He didn't hesitate to go underneath the car and filled the spare tire with air. I appreciate the service Kekoa provided me. I'm sure most would say no need since it's the spare tire but he just got down and went for it. Thank you, Kekoa, for your amazing service! I'm happy! Fantastic place to take your car for servicing (and gas). My only issue is that if you're new, you don't know where to pull in because if they're busy, someone may not come to you right away to assist. So fyi, just pull up to the service side and wait for your turn. Once someone is able to assist, it's smooth sailing. Everyone is super helpful. Notes: I always call to schedule for servicing. Went to see about a safety check. parking is tight so not really knowing where to park my boyfriend just parked and I ran in to see how long it would take. Another guy was waiting and the worker came in told him to go get his registration and number and come back. the guy left and I was the only one standing there waiting and the worker just left. No acknowledgment no asking me what I need. I stood and waited for a few minutes the other guy came back and the worker came back in took his number and said he would call him when he was ready. 2 hours after we dropped off the car for service, they called to say they lost the keys and could we drop off another set. So I had to inconvenience a family member who was busy herself, and ask her to drop off another set of keys while I had to watch my elderly parent. Weʻve been told that this repair shop loses invoices etc, although their mechanics are good, and the shop is trustworthy. One family member no longer brings her car for them to service because she found some place better and not so hectic. There are so many cars coming and going because many peeps go there for safety checks, and gas so if you prefer just a one stop mechanic - perhaps not the best place for you. It's so nice to have a neighborhood service station that can do safety checks! Fifty years ago, there were service stations all over Kaimuki. Now there's hardly any that sells gas, does repairs and safety checks. The safety checks are done on a first come, first served basis. Since there's limited space, they take your contact info and will call you when they're ready to inspect your car. It's very convenient since there's so much to do in Kaimuki and you don't have to wait around for your car. Alan, the owner, is always very friendly and welcoming. I also fill up gas here whenever I can. It's just so convenient to be able to do all this and they're only 5 minutes from my house. I hope they'll be around for a long time! read more

At 9:30am I went in for Safety Inspection. I did not make an appointment and would wait my turn. Warren was doing the inspections so showed him my car registration, current safety inspection and current auto insurance card. Since lack of space in the service station lot, I drove to park my car nearby to wait 24" until he called me. Had to wait another 20 minutes and it was done. Amazing service is what you will get at Kaimiku Auto Repair. I brought my car in to diagnose an ongoing issue that I had with my rear brakes which started after I had my brakes replaced at another auto repair shop. The other auto repair shop who did the work could not address the ongoing issue with my brakes so I brought my car to Kaimuki Auto Repair for a second opinion. The Owner (Alan) did a test drive with me and confirmed where the noise was coming from and what the issue could be. He wrote a thoughough summary of the issue and what could resolve it. I took my car back to the original auto shop that did my brakes and they replaced it with no additional charge for parts and labor. While I was at Kaimiku Auto Repair I observed how the staff were always attentive to the customers and explained what each issue was with their car.
