Fate had us connected to Well Built and the rest was history! We had a simple garage storage installation that turned out being not so simple at all. In fact, our neighbors all have it done but everyone said it was a nightmare. The neighbors who did it themselves said it took them many hours and multiple drill hole mistakes due to beam placement complications in the structure of the house. Neighbors who hired other contractors also took a long time since it was tricky to figure out. So when we were looking for professionals, we made sure to pick someone with good reviews. And I'm so glad we found Well Built. Mycah carefully took measurements and took all precautions into account prior to installing, and communicated every step of the way during the installation process. He has great workmanship and was even punctual with his appointment time. If anything, we were the ones that had to keep rescheduling with him but he was patient and friendly with us the entire way through. He charges honestly by the hour and is super easy to work with. We had badly water-damaged baseboards and door jams in two locations. I requested hard wood to replace the damaged sections. Miguel measured and took extensive pictures. To avoid the cost of replacing two entire door frames, he offered to cut out the damaged parts and fashion replacement parts by hand. Same for the baseboards as nothing 'ready-made' from Home Depot even came close. Two days later they showed up loaded for bear. A large power table saw mitre saw, power sanders a bunch of other tools AND one mahogany plank. What I thought was a fairly simple job was actually quite complicated. They did a fantastic job! Miguel is a licensed contractor with much skill and experience. I was looking for a handyman, but got lucky and got a pro! Bottom line is you get what you pay for. I hired these guys to do some basic paining outside of my home and some interior doors. I was in a…read morecrunch due to selling my home, but they seemed like they knew what they were talking about. I was quoted what any other licensed company would have charged but I had no other choice. When they were here to work there was usually multiple kids here painting. Not adults. And not professionals. So I guess that's why the work turned out looking like kids did it. They didn't tape things off nor did they use drop cloths and was very vocal about not getting paint in the house or the rock beds due to the house being up for sale. Paint is EVERYWHERE and roller marks all over the place. On top of that they painted (or didn't I should say) the interior doors. They look worse than they did when I sent them with them. So if you want to pay professional rates, for Children's work, more work than you started with, and for shortcuts to be taken then these are your guys. Also after contacting them about the results after payment... no response.

Was not happy with Scott Minkler SFC Handyman due to the quality of work, undone work, damages,…read moremissing materials, miscommunications, unwillingness to recognize the obvious problems, pushback. Not enough pride in their paint work to do the basics despite it even being part of the scope of work. They obviously didn't patch, sand, prime, or tape where needed nor paint some of the required baseboards. Some of the baseboards they did paint look awful, way worse than before work started. I mentioned these issues that I observed to Scott in advance and that he needed to do a walk through himself to make fixes before my final walkthrough...but no, he wanted me to come in early on their last scheduled day and point out the issues to him. The issues were glaringly obvious to me but I don't think he had any plans to make any fixes unless I pointed it out to him. No pride in their quality of work. When I came in to point out the same previously mentioned issues from 2 days ago that still existed and I then saw what they did to my wall bed, I lost all confidence in Scott's abilities and asked him to leave the job. They damaged the ceiling when moving a queen size wall bed installed on the wall, not to mention uninstalling the wall bed completely weakened and damaged the wall bed. Scott could not get it re-installed correctly the way it originally was. This is how he wanted to present his work to me? Who said they should uninstall a gigantic piece of cabinetry in the first place?! I subsequently had to hire another crew to remove and trash my originally very expensive (now junked) wall bed! So many issues with Scott that I haven't even listed here that made this relatively simple paint job a nightmare for me, not to mention he was one of the most expensive bids. I heavily depend on reviews when hiring and although it's tough to have to point out the negatives about a person's work, however good-intended they might think they are, it's the truth that others deserve to know if they plan to work with him. They did me wrong and no one else should have to go through this. Scott (SFC Handyman) is a definite no for me, would not recommend.
