Came to ER tonight at 9 pm. I'm still waiting. Kaiser healthcare is a joke. You have to be a member before they will take you and the benefit is waiting in line for hours. Unacceptable I will be upgrading my insurance in the future to avoid dealing with them. Tired of talking to robots on their hotline and waiting forever in urgent care and ER. ER was a bad place to come. The check-in line was nothing better than DMV. Doctors were fast and friendly, but not the Nurses. They either ignored you or they talked too much to each other. It took me 5 hrs to get to see a doctor, 25-30 waited to pay my bill after I went to the work desk to ask for release. Then waited for another 30 minutes just to request my papers to get the hell out and go home, because I was in pain. This is a bad place to check-in, either they didn't see you there or they just ignored you. Sad. I would never come back here again. read more

This review is specifically for Dr Adrienna Boynton and the Labor/Delivery staff that we had. I've never had any children before my son being born so this was my first experience and it was quite the rollercoaster between what was going on in my personal life and what was going on with my son during the pregnancy, there were a lot of emotions and mental challenges. Shirley, Marrissa, Oshell(Shelly) These 3 are the absolute best at making sure that they not only do their jobs efficiently and but that they COMMUNICATE EFFECTIVELY. Brittany, our nurse when we got to the new mothers unit was absolutely outstanding. And Dr Boynton is an amazing specialist who pays special attention to detail and gives recommendations and instructions with care that are clear and easy to understand. And last but not least I am BEYOND grateful for the entire staff in the NICU. My son was in there for a few days but he seemed to be doing fine. One night at about 1am, I went in there to sit with him and hold him and then I had to put him back. While sitting there, all of a sudden it hit me that my son is really in the intensive care unit and immediately started crying profusely. Thank G-d for the mask mandate so that the nurses couldn't see my ugly face while crying. And as silent as I was, they could still tell something was wrong and made sure to check on me. I know we pay for the service with insurance BUT I want you all to remember something: When people are nice, they don't have to be nice to YOU. I highly recommend this staff. Thank you. read more

I understand Kaiser is still requiring Covid protocols but if you're going to make patients wait out side in the hot sun, provide shade, provide chairs, provide water etc. it's ridiculous that Covid has been going on this long and you're aware of how long of a wait urgent care can be and you still don't provide adequate accommodations to your paying patients who obviously don't feel well or we wouldn't even be at urgent care to begin with. I am giving this rating of 2 stars because of the poor accommodations. I find it ridiculous. However, the staff was very nice and I do appreciate that since I have witnessed poor treatment in the ER before by staff. I absolutely loved the Doctor I saw. His name is Dr. Cronin. He listened, was compassionate, didn't rush, apologized for the long wait (3hrs) and honestly was the only positive to the whole urgent care experience. His nurse Victoria was also very nice and caring and I appreciate the acknowledgment of the wait. I can only imagine how over worked Urgent care is because I see there line long from the moment they open almost everyday. I had tried calling to get a phone appt so I didn't need to go in to urgent care and was told there was nothing available. I understand it's a Saturday but all I have ever heard being a patient with Kaiser is "go to urgent care". Appointments book so far in advance. I can't predict when I will fall ill. There needs to be better responses and care in place besides pushing patients all to the same location where we must wait for hours not feeling well. Health care is such a shame to encounter. I have actually checked into urgent care and was told that I will not be seen till 6PM. It is 4:50, so I decided to go to the cafeteria since I am hungry. I do not normally hang out in hospital cafeterias, but I thought I would check it out. I saw the Chicken Adobo on the hot food line and thought it looked and smelled pretty good. I had been avoiding going in to see my doctor for anything for the past couple of years. Well I was having an issue that kept getting worse so I decided to go to urgent care a few weeks ago. The entire experience turned out to be not bad at all, starting with the helpful young man at the parking or information kiosk. We asked him if I would be able to get a wheelchair and he actually went over and brought one out for me. Every single employee that I encountered was very kind and there was no pressure. Brought my mother into the ER, she was showing signs of a stroke, the RN, that checked us in was not compassionate at all, she does not deserve to be called a hero or to have the title as a nurse, all the chairs in the ER we're taken, I ask politely if she could check if any chairs are available in the back, in the rooms, she didn't bother to get up and check, right away she said we don't have any, I told her my mom is weak and she cannot be standing long, again she said without checking she said there's no chairs, I told her it doesn't make sense how she put a FALL RISK wristband on her but no chairs, and her response was, " What do you want me to do, take someone off the chair". Baby Jill was born here. Was referred to Dr. Guberman due to my high risk pregnancy. Baby Jill was an IUGR baby with absent end diastolic flow that developed into intermittent reversals that required continuous monitoring in L&D. She was delivered at 28.6 weeks 560g by Dr. Kim. We were in NICU for 82 days. Dr. Mendoza was there that first night she was born and during her most difficult days in the NICU. She is a blessing to our sweet baby girl. Dr. Lynch and Dr Ahmad were also such great NICU doctors and we are so thankful for taking such good care of Jilly. Dr. Britt did the laser surgery for Jill's ROP. Although there were some bad weeks, overall Jill is a fighter. She is our miracle baby. There are no words for the level of care we experienced while in the NICU. We loved the nursing staff and the whole department so much. I would hate to leave out any names so I'm not going to try. But we think about our nurses all the time. When I look at Jill I see the hundred of man hours and loving hands that took such good care of her, my family, and me. Every time I hear the words love bug, booboo, Jilly... I think of our nurses. We miss them but happy we don't have to go there everyday anymore because Jill is at home with us. A million thank you from Kaiser's million dollar baby. read more

ER REVIEW: It's 2:00 a.m and you find yourself driving a loved one to the ER with chest pains. Where do you go and what do you do? If you are insured, you go to Kaiser-Baldwin Park and that's what I did. As soon as we arrived at the Kaiser Baldwin Park Medical Center we felt safe and we knew that we were in good hands. The ER is a bit difficult to find but it was easy for me because I had been here before. We were quickly admitted and the treatment we received was first rate. Thankfully, the chest pains ended up being nothing more than a torn muscle. I appreciate how the entire staff here responded quickly and professionally to our medical emergency. If i can im not going to give a single star for this hospital. ER Department are the worst. Before you can even enter the department theres this guard who tells you right away that only patient are allowed to go inside the department. They need to understand that this patients are anxious and they need emotional support from their family. Were on our 6th hour of waiting...... still waiting for doctor to see my daughter. No single staff even bother to go out in the waiting room to update patients of their waiting time. My daughter is the one approaching the 3 information windows several times they dont know any answer and looking annoyed and pissed at her inquiries. She already told them she has not eaten since midnight and now its almost 5 pm and feels dizzy already but no one cares I guess. Our frustration for this very unpleasant service and situation is beyond words. I just moved to the area and while I've been spoiled by the newer, cleaner OC facilities where I used to live, this place isn't bad. Mind you, it's older, so don't come in expecting newer decor or cleaner floors: it shows it age. However, aesthetics aside, the staff here are very competent and caring. The LVN who took my vitals and did the initial intake seemed interested in my condition and had a charming sense of humor. My physician, who was all business and made a point to acknowledge my noticing his hand washing, said Kaiser encourages patients to call out practitioners on their infection prevention. He quickly diagnosed my condition and did a complete history with me to go over any other conditions or ailments I might have. He was really thorough and seemed to care about my history. So, for care and personality, it's a strong 4 stars. For physical environment, its a weak 3. But the location and ample parking and super friendly staff make this a 4. read more

They do not have a fast track They do not do lab screening as you wait like other KP, ER's they seemed to be backwards. We waited for 7 hours, I guess she had to be literally on her death bed to get any attention. Within the 7 hour wait no vital screening. I would never go here or recommend this ER, I rather go to Anaheim or Downey. *As I was waiting, I met a young lady who's pregnant and was bleeding and she had been waiting 2 hours. I've used a variety of services at this location, and I think I've been very lucky. I really didn't have a favorable view of Kaiser while I was working in the healthcare field. Now that I'm using them, I turned over a new leaf, somewhat. I still have had my fair share of disappointments. Let's start with the ER. I've never utilized this service but my dad has. He was finally diagnosed with cancer after a few visits to the ER. I just don't feel that they don't practice defensive medicine here. Don't just discharge someone and claim it just a muscular injury. My dad was in the ER for hours, and I think it was around 6-hours total, even though he was already informed hours ago that he was going to be admitted for observation. And, this ER can get packed and busy, even though there's an urgent care on property. The urgent care here gets packed! I do my best to steer away from the ER and urgent care here for my own personal use. I've actually used facilities closer to work that are far better than this place. So what has been good for me is the laboratory, radiology, and urology departments. When I've passed by the laboratory, that place can be packed. Thank goodness I haven't experienced that wait cause I've been smart about arriving during non peak hours or just using the local laboratory where I love. With radiology and urology, I've had appointments. I'm sure those appointments are helpful in ensuring that they don't waste the patients time. Both times I was in and out within the hour. Parking here is horrible during peak hours. One time the parking structure was full and their parking attendants are just waving the traffic through. They're not even looking at the cars driving up cause their nose is deep into their cell phones. I didn't understand why they were pushing people into the structure when there's no space. Why was I driving in circles from floor to floor. Then there's a couple rows of empty stalls going up from the first floor that were blocked by stanchions. I asked why and the excuse I was given is that they're blocked off. Well no poop, obviously! No reason why and off I went to circle around the block 2 times, just to return to the structure again to finally get a spot. That took about 45 minutes away from my life. The service inside is a bit more pleasant than the outside. Thank goodness. My advice for this facility, make an appointment when you can. If you make that appointment during peak times, make sure you arrive at least an hour before your appointment. I was almost late to my appointment cause it was first thing in the morning. Try to set your appointments during non peak hours. If you're not sure, ask when you make the appointment. read more

I already live in Baldwin Park so it helped that I left my house at 7:30 am and got there to see the line of cars forming. BP police were only allowing cars to line up from Baldwin Park Blvd and Bess st. So I made a left turn on Amar and then made a u turn to get on the middle lane to turn left. I made sure to have no space between cars because you ll have other cars trying to get in. By the time it was 8:15 am I was along side of the parking structure. While I waited there was a older lady walking and got my attention. She asked for me to give her a ride inside the parking structure to get a covid test since she doesn't have a car. I felt bad for her and I politely told her I couldn't take that risk. Maybe Kaiser should have a walk up for those patients that don't have cars. Well it's 8:58 am and still in line, writing these review. I can see that I'm almost at the top of the parking structure where the covid test are being done. Wish me luck! read more

To whom this may concern. My daughter was brought in by ambulance on a Monday night. I did notice the emergency room was busy. My daughter had a horrible reaction to two new medications that were given to her by her Kaiser doctor,when she came in she was vomiting and in so much pain It was our First time ever in the Kaiser E.R What a awful experience ever ,I'll never forget and I will never go back even though my insurance is through Kaiser. The Paramedic guys were Instructed to take my daughter laying in the ambulance Gurnee vomiting to the waiting room to wait with the others . I couldn't believe what I was seeing ,she was never seen by a nurse to make any observations of her condition. I went back to the nurse station and asked two nurses why was my daughter to wait in the waiting room vomiting in front of the Other patients waiting and a Hispanic nurse advise cause they are busy and it a Monday . I told her I'm sorry your busy this is a emergency room and I didn't mean for my daughter to get sick on a busy day like Monday. She told me if I didn't like it I can check her out ! I couldn't believe how unprofessional she was and the way she spoke to me ,considering I'm feeling helpless cause my daughter in pain and I don't know how to help her. He found an empty wheel chair near the parking area and managed to use it to get around. That's how horrible the pain was. He was treated very kindly and efficiently by all Kaiser staff, but nurses Lizzy & Vanessa went out of their way to accommodate him by wheeling him around between urgent care, lab work, pharmacy and Ultrasound. Even asked for assistance for him to get back to his car in the parking lot. They are excellent staff with a huge heart who take pride in their work. I filed a complaint through the appropriate ladder, and trust me, they take my complaint seriously. My husband got lab drawn and being called by his primary MD the same day for critical lab values and advised him what to do next. When I needed something about my kids health paperworks, I just emailed them and they sent it to me through mail or I can pick it up. You can view all your labs and upcoming appt online. Even your past visit appointments. Refill meds available online and/ or by phone and just pick it up or have them delivered. Lab, they have appointment line, just call, tell them what time and day you want to come and they draw your blood right away. I found it very disturbing when people talked down for healthcare professionals and saying their loud, unprofessionals and English learners. They work hard, long hours and trying their best to help patients and safe some people's lifes. They passed national boards for a reason. If some staff are rude, well maybe it is true in any other occupational fields, there are some people whose nice or not so nice right? And again, you always have option to request to talk to the supervisor. And for someone whose saying '"They only hired minorities and English learners", its a bit ignorant dont you think?
