She noticed my cousin needed some help with getting her blood drawn, so she was very accommodating and stepped out of her seat and came over to get that done. My concern is they have Flu Shot stations and people walking around in with a small caddy on wheels literally asking people "Do you have the Flu Shot" every employee in here is trained to ask you & persuade you to get the Flu Shot. I don't have to tell you if I've had or why I choose not to get it but when I go for something unrelated and I bypass all these stations and I'm already getting my vitals and the nurse tells me that I am feeling fatigue because I haven't had my flu shot its very questionable as a company. Even your past visit appointments. Refill meds available online and/ or by phone and just pick it up or have them delivered. Lab, they have appointment line, just call, tell them what time and day you want to come and they draw your blood right away. He found an empty wheel chair near the parking area and managed to use it to get around. That's how horrible the pain was. He was treated very kindly and efficiently by all Kaiser staff, but nurses Lizzy & Vanessa went out of their way to accommodate him by wheeling him around between urgent care, lab work, pharmacy and Ultrasound. KP ER is low maintenance , low patient care quality, low communication skills. The whole floor looks like those hospital in the movie that are going through zombie attacks, a holocaust. Patients are laying in the hall way like some experimental lab rats in front of exam rooms. Not only that, they come in & out of the room slamming the door constantly to make sure the patient who is laying in front of it CANNOT REST, no manners at all. No nurse would come to check on the patient c if they are Okee, if they r cold and even a word of comforting. No They are not busy though, there are at least 4-5 of them sitting around, standing around chit chatting, ignorance! All the nurses seem like they hate to be here, they hate to see patients who have no choice but to come here seeking for help and literally fighting to stay alive. No one wants to come here, we all know that but this is ur job, ur function as a healthcare worker. The pt absolutely don't want to be here either. This review is for the Pharmacy Room 111, near the piano. I came to this KP Pharma on my 1-hour lunch break because I work nearby. The campus is beautiful! However, inside the main building, the Pharmacy at room 111is not! The process is slow and led by an unwelcoming staff person who gives you a number after you check in with yet again another unwelcoming staff, and AFTER your name appears on the board. It was indeed packed with easily 50 patients waiting to get medications. Several patients just stand in front of the wide doors, but thankfully there are chlucshined seats/couches for folks. I'm not a hospital administrator but I highly recommend opening another location for Rx services on this beautiful campus if possible. This is so terrible that I will have to pick up my back at my regular KP Pharma :( read more

This organization is a joke. I regret choosing Kaiser as my health insurance. Constant road blocks to get medical care . If you need Emergency services or urgent care services good look !!! You'll die waiting . You'll have the door closed on you at urgent care and be told they are at maximum capacity or have your health be put at risk by having you wait 6-8 hours in the Emergency room. They will then tell you that there is nothing that can be done and hand you a grievance form and tell you to call member services and send you on your way. My daughter who had a fever of 104 with a severe cough was turned away at 5:30 pm on a Tuesday from pediatrics urgent care even though they were set to close at 7pm. I was given no other option besides to wait in the Emergency room that had a expected wait time of 6-8 hours. People were lined up outside the Emergency room . I had no choice but to go to my local hospital which was Alhambra hospital and was checked in, seen, and discharged all in 2.5 hours. My daughter ended up having pneumonia. Thank goodness for Alhambra Hospital. She got the care she desperately needed. Now I risk having a bill from going outside of Kaiser for care and Kaiser could care less. I can't tell you how much I hate this organization. I just called to get follow up care for my daughter's pneumonia and was told the soonest appointment was 3 weeks out. ::This review is labor and delivery only:: New and first time moms need to know some huge differences between choosing kaiser to delivery vs delivering at a smaller/community hospital. I've experienced both, and I know that if this was my first time delivering I wouldn't have made it. First off, expect to be moved around to different rooms while at kaiser. The room where they admit you, the room where you deliver and lastly the tiny room where you recover. This being my third child I knew to listen to my body and to speak up if something didn't feel right. After I had my third baby, I told the nurse I was still bleeding, she didn't bother to check me, she said, "that's normal". Mind you I know the difference, I know what's normal and what's not. What would have happened if I would have stayed quiet. My mother worked in labor and delivery for 20 years (not Kaiser) and always told me you have to be as descriptive as you can when you complain to medical staff. So in that moment as I was feeling faint and beginning to shake I said, "it feels like a faucet". That got her attention. I felt my body slipping. I felt the strangest frost come over me. At that moment I prayed to take care of my sons if I had lost too much. It was the scariest and loneliest moment of any delivery. And it is something I do not wish upon anyone. There are so many things wrong with kaisers delivery model. I could go on and on and on. I just want to warn new moms when selecting this hospital. There are better choices out there. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone else but just in case, be cautious. read more

Basically everything at this hospital is bad. My wife just had a baby and I can say that we will not be returning to this hospital for anything. Our L&D room looked fine, but there was no warm water for my pregnant wife and when we asked about it so she could shower before going into active labor we were essentially told "too bad" in the usual professional manner that just passes off responsibility. The postpartum staff is demeaning and only cares about "checking off a box" and not caring for your well-being, and there was construction going on at 5:50 in the morning that woke our new born up. There was a lot more that I could say, but I don't feel like typing out the countless issues my wife and I experienced over the last few days. I would like to mention that the L&D nurses that we worked directly with were all EXCEPTIONAL, but despite that, this facility is without a doubt a perfect example of how to cover your liability as a business and not give a shit about actual patient care. read more

Compared to other hospitals/insurances, Kaiser is the most personalized and attentive healthcare you can get outside of private practices. Yes it can get busy, as does any hospital, but the staff always provides genuine and efficient care. Of course, I'm respectful and never rude with things that are out of their control. There was an issue with my medication, but the Nuclear Medicine department went out of their way to contact other locations and was able to secure a replacement from another hospital. I understood it couldn't be helped if my treatment had to be rescheduled , but they understood it'd be incredibly inconvenient for me if it was, and did everything they could to for me. I've been going to Kaiser since I was a kid... and as any veteran Kaiser member can tell you-- it's a lot like the Matrix: some rules can be bent; others can be broken. In other words, there are ways to "game" the system and make Kaiser work for you, instead of feeling as if you're dealing with a giant faceless HMO-like entity that treats you like the number printed on your medical card. I'll give you one: need an appointment, and don't want to wait a month? Set your alarm and stock the appointment center (phone number is on your card) right when they open. Plenty of folks cancel overnight due to last-minute stuff they forgot about, so you can nicely ask if there are any last-minute cancellations. More often than not, you can get in. Plus, if you're willing to see a doctor "other than your usual GP or DO," you're almost assured an appointment fast... yes, even with COVID rules at play. Baldwin Park Kaiser is a great facility. For years, we took the long drive to Sunset for Emergency and specialty services... thankfully, BP offers a lot of the same, and closer to home. Granted, the 10 freeway is a pain sometimes, and parking here is limited to a single lot, but honestly, I don't bother with the parking structure. Thankfully, I am ambulatory enough to park in the neighborhood nearby and hoof it a couple of blocks when the place is busy. With both a hospital and a "medical building" here on this campus, the place indeed can be busy. But for one-stop medical needs, you're hard-pressed at places other than Kaiser to have your appointment, get your X-rays or PT, and hit the pharmacy...and grab a Starbucks...all without moving your car. Nobody likes going to the doctor or the hospital. But I'm glad that this one is just a few miles away for those unfortunate times when we need it. read more

Today I had a appointment for a heart scan in the nuclear medicine department. My scheduled time was 11am, I was instantly greeted & checked in. I was called in and treated by Van. He was so helpful and put my at ease with the process. He asked if I've gone through it before, which I hadn't. I explained my anxiety with needles (whose ever ok with needles ? Lol) but most of all how I mentally and physically felt today. He spoke to me the entire time and taught me a few things about my internal organs and how they function through the scan. He was sympathetic to my situation. I've always had such a great experience with Kaiser. I've given birth twice with them. I've experienced Covid with a new born baby at their facility & they were amazing at treating us both. I'll be experiencing Treatment very soon at this facility. I had my 3rd C-section done but spinal anesthesia seemed not quite successful. I felt the pain during both anesthesia and C-section procedures and that horrified and left me speechless. They made me sleep and asked my husband to leave the operation room when my doctor left a laceration which is so close to my son's eye. And doctor said she's sorry and she explained it was because my uterus is so thin. We know fetal laceration rarely happens but seems I'm the one to blame. Does it make sense? We expect Kaiser Permanente provides good quality of service but we're quite disappointed. Compared to past 2 c-sections at Huntington Memorial Hospital Kaiser isn't doing so well. read more

I felt so helpless knowing all I could do is drive my mom to the ER knowing she's gonna put up a fight if I dialed 911. Even when I was driving she kept insisting that she felt better after I gave her aspirin and her heart medication and that we didn't have to go to the hospital. So headstrong, this diminutive yet bossy and stubborn parent of mine. But I am more headstrong, bossy and stubborn, plus I got 2 whole inches on her. Anyways, we got to the parking lot around 2:10 am, there were a few parking spaces available. Some idiot parked a transport chair in between two spaces that I had to get out of the car and move it out of the way. The two words that gets instantaneous response from the hospital staff and something you don't kid about is what has kept me awake 27 hours. The workers were fast but professional and explained the procedures to allay my mom's anxiety. After the initial EKG and triage, my mom was wheeled to a room. The doctor was already there who began the history taking after introductions. Medications, Blood work, X-ray. Done, done and done. My mom had a nice "room" right next to the nurses' station. It was hard for her to sleep because of the hustle and bustle but at least we had a privacy curtain. Some patients weren't so lucky having to occupy just a gurney in the hallway. Finally, we were told that she needs to be admitted but since she doesn't have kaiser they're going to call her insurance to find out what the next step was going to be. All throughout her stay in the ER, the doctor, nurses, technicians, case manager always explained procedures and gave us updates. By 7 am she was on a gurney to be transferred via ambulance to the hospital continuing her care. The upside, I had reception and wifi was free. We are an ACLS provider and per protocol, had our patient on a cardiac monitor. When instructed by Christine to provide the vitals signs, we did. She stated that she didn't see us take vitals. Our patient was on our monitor. Her tone and rolling of the eyes was not professional. She acted like she was upset to be working. I go to Urgent Care arriving about 9:00AM The whole campus is packed, parking spaces full, people wandering about. There is a line out the door to get into Urgent Care. I am just too sick to wait in line I decide to leave, but decide to take a photo of the line so that my family member knows why I left. I had previously put my Kaiser card in my shirt pocket so it would be handy and unbeknown to me, it fell on the ground when I took my phone out. I walked back to the parking lot and drove home. Halfway home my phone rings, it is Vanessa a clerk at Urgent Care. Someone had found my Kaiser card and turned it in. Vanessa's boss gave it to her to follow up and return to me. I explained that I must have dropped it and that I had gave up on UC. She said "NO! if you are sick this is the best time to come in, it is our slowest part of the day". I told her that I would turn around and return. She gave her name and said to see her specifically when I got back to the BP campus. Halfway back to the BP KP campus, my phone lights up on the KP app. It shows an appointment at UC(?) I didnt even know you could make an appointment for UC. (Vanessa made an appointment) I Park my car. walking toward UC and my phone rings. Vanessa is calling asking if I am back on campus yet. I told her that I am almost there. The line is shorter now and I am at the end of it but still in the doorway area. A voice calls out my name, It is Vanessa, looking for me. I skip the line go directly to her window and he has me halfway checked in already. Within moments I am directed to the UC waiting/exam area. I was shocked at the level of service Vanessa gave me. I was sick and in no mood to put up with the nonsense that I had expected. Vanessa smoothed the entire process and really made my day. I dont know what made Vanessa want to go so far to help somebody but I really needed it and was thankful for it. Thank you Vanessa, my faith in the health care system might be reconfirmed after the disruptions that was COVID. Maybe we can return to normal. read more

Today I went to urgent care I wasn't feeling good thought there would be a long wait. But instead I had the greatest time there. Dr Baker Your expertise and exceptional care have made a real difference on today's visit .Thank you for being an amazing doctor. I am grateful for your exceptional care. Get there at least 20-30 minutes before appointment time. The parking can take some time to find a spot. The line to enter the building was quite long due to covid symptoms questions then they give you a bracelet then allow you to go to your appointment. read more

Very early in the morning I felt very bad. My husband took me to urgent care because it was Sunday. It was crowded, but all the personnel were working fast. The receptionist was very polite and professional. The nurses and RN were awesome. Doctors amazing. Everyone was taking good care of me. I was sent to the laboratory and to the X Rays department. All of them are very professional, polite and they don't waist time. All the work was very good coordinated. Everything was done perfectly fine in a shorter time than I expected. I had to have Nuclear Medicine Imaging for the first time today. I was a little nervous because I have never had this done before. Van Ngo provided me with excellent care during my visit. He explained step by step what was going to happen and did everything he could to make me feel comfortable. He asked if I had questions or any concerns before and after my procedure. His friendly demeanor put me at ease and I had a great experience. read more

This center has provided great care for my family- including labor and delivery, orthopedic care pediatrics and internal medicine . The 24 hr pharmacy is convenient and **most, not all, of the employees in there are courteous and effective and efficient. It is no accident that those front line workers with Regina George attitudes in the 24 hr pharmacy wear their badges in a way that you cannot read them- I've noticed this across several visits- I can handle them, including the lady w sunglasses and minimal communication when she has to break the intake counter- but I feel sorry for the little old ladies and men just trying to get their meds- I would never send my mom to their 24 hr pharmacy unescorted . I also am impressed w all the pharmacy staff that manage to keep good energy and service in an an attempt to compensate for the toxic inadequacies of their peers. read more

My opinion of Kaiser has done a complete 180 from when I was a kid. The agony of being in the waiting room was equal to whatever ails I had. I hated them so much so, that as an adult, whenever I was needing to pick a healthcare provider, I would steer clear of them. Always. Fast forward to the past few years where this time, I've had to visit family at this Baldwin Park location and recently had to go to the Sunset location. Now, I honestly cannot praise them enough, starting with the staff and nurses here. Their amazing patient care far exceeds the care for their patients and has extended to those of the loved ones. I've experienced compassion, empathy and understanding that I really didn't expect, considering my preconception. The nurses, the staff and doctors are seriously amazingly. They are so comforting, professional and just extremely human and caring. They've eased my frazzled and frantic behavior, the overly questioning, overly protective and obsessive concern. Getting me to trust them, eventually being able to relax and even smile due to how contagious theirs were. This has not been a one time situation either. I've thought maybe it was just that one time...but if it was just that time, it was that one time that mattered. Thankfully the times I have had to return and have had to go to another Kaiser location, it's been consistent in the quality of care. Again, I cannot give enough praise to this organization in which within it's industry, can be so desensitized. And given the chance to pick a new PPO/HMO, without any hesitation, I'd pick Kaiser Permanente. Side note: the logistics...parking, organization, pharmacy, check-ins...easy. Minimizing any added stress that would of been an onset to having to go to a hospital in the first place. The food at the cafe here...well that is a different story. read more

This second visit to urgent care was so different because I got a doctor who actually cares and listened to me. I got excellent care and was given antibiotics, and other medications I needed for my throat and body to heal. I feel frustrated with that last visit on Monday when I could have been treated well by the previous doctor that did not have time to connect with me. The doctor I would like to give my gratitude to is Dr.Josie Radames Plascencia and Nurse Sarah are the best and provided the best patient care at the Kaiser Urgent care. Also for Vanessa the receptionist who really showed she cared about my bad past experience and wanted to make sure this second visit was a success for my wellbeing. And now I feel so much better with all my medication that was prescribed appropriately for my needs and healing. Thank you DR PLASCENCIA and Nurse SARAH!! If I could give 20 stars I would. Thank you for bringing my trust back into Kaiser Urgent Care. read more
