We went to Kaiser Tiger at 1pm on a Saturday, expecting a relaxed, family-friendly experience, especially since the place was mostly empty. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. For a restaurant that markets itself as family-friendly, you would expect the manager to at least like kids. Instead, we were approached multiple times in an aggressive tone and essentially scolded for letting our children play in the game area with other kids. GREAT bar food! Came here on a random Sunday after a west loop flea market. The bar food cannot be beat. Genuinely some of my favorite fries that I have had in the city. The pretzel and popcorn chicken were also great and they have an insane amount of dips that you can choose from. Great service and overall a wonderful experience. I liked the Asian crunch salad but they could have made the dressing with a little less soy sauce and maybe more rice vinegar ginger and garlic. It was a little too salty. The sausage and cheeseboard was good but there were only a few little slices of crunchy baguette so a few more would have been better for a good ratio of cheese to bread. We went to the Kaiser Tiger before a Blackhawks game & had a great experience. The food was exceptional & our server was so nice and also exceptional ! I got the turkey Rueben with soup & my husband got the Italian roast beef with fries. Both were very good . The beer selection was great but we chose an 'Irish wristwatch ' - Guinness with a shot of whiskey for only $9! They also provided free shuttle service to the United center! We will be back! We saw that this place has bacon, sausage, and cheese and we decided that was the place for us. We went a few hours before a Lady Gaga show at the United Center and saw that they do free shuttle service to the United Center for concerts and Blackhawks and Bulls games. The shuttle service started at 6 p.m. and we weren't there long enough, but what a service for an establishment with craft beers to have. Even if you don't need the service it's very walkable to the United Center, btw. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We started out on the back patio. Great atmosphere and very cozy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We did end up going inside to the bar due to mosquitoes always thinking I'm delicious. I got the Beer & Bacon sausage which was absolutely delicious. Huge chunks of bacon, house made beer mustard, and crisp red onions topping the sausage. I'm not usually a mustard fan but the beer cheese mustard was delicious and I love beer cheese. Definitely hid the mustard flavor, or at least neutralized it. The crispy red onions added the perfect amount of crunch, making each bite satisfying. My husband got the crispy mac and cheese bites, which comes with chili and beer cheese. The chili sort of reminded me of Cincinnati-style chili, which I'm not a fan of (sorry!) but the cheese bites with that delicious beer cheese really hit the spot. The bites were the perfect crisp level. We got the Kaiser Tiger/Dovetail Hefewizen which was easy to drink and amazing on a warm day after walking around. I then switched to the Kaiser Tiger/Dovetail Pils which was perfectly smooth and dry, again perfect on a toasty day. Now for my favorite part of the experience: DAN! When we arrived hardly anyone was there (they'd just opened and it was a Wednesday afternoon) and Dan was the bartender/server. He was so nice and answered my questions about the patio cat aptly named Bacon (cute!). When we went to the bar he was so nice and personable. We told him we were from the Nashville area and we talked about the cesspool that is Broadway, hockey, indie movie theaters in Tennessee and Chicago, and movies (he has great taste). The service. Party arrived for an office going away party at 2pm on a Tuesday. Walked in and as they were looking to grab a table an employee ran over and said - "hey hey hey hold up a sec. Do you have a reservation? ". We looked around the bar (place is huge) and counted 4 people in entire place. We said no and were told that they would accommodate us this time but to be aware that since this was World Cup the place could fill up (I assume with reservations) nearly instantly. They then made a show of looking for a table that would accommodate us. Did not ask party size just saw 6 of us and assumed that was it. Made us wait a few minutes - then let us go sit at a table that in no way had been set up or cleaned in that time (table was clean just seemed like they had us wait to wait). Ordered so drinks and apps at regular price. No complaints on food or drink they were fine. About an hour later 2 more people show up. We are at a picnic type table that wouldn't fit six so they grab a couple chairs and set up at end of table. Plenty of space. They commented on how someone tried to stop them at door about reservations, mentioned they were part of a group already here and just walked on past. About two minutes later the same reservations employee came out and loudly was like "No! No no no. You can't sit there we do deliveries and need this lane clear." One of our party offered to stand if that was a problem and jokingly said they had been standing all day. The employee was like "No. That's not gonna work. This lane needs to be clear for deliveries." To be clear this table while next to a wall/fence and a door it was in the middle of what could be a very busy bar and no signage or anything. Just felt weird. So the employee made us move to another corner of restaurant. Ok. No problem. Weird but no problem. Server came over a few minutes later to grab some more food and drink orders. We ordered a bunch of apps. Dude seemed annoyed that we ordered off the happy hour menu - during happy hour. Made a comment about how we got there before happy hour and that our other apps were regular price. Ok. Yea that's how it works. No problem. Food came. Again no complaints. Ordered more drinks as time passed. About an hour and a half later server comes over and says he's been cut and wants to know if he can close us out. I don't want dude to get hosed on tip so say we can close out but we aren't ready to leave yet so will want to probably order more. Server says that we should just order with him now. A couple people do order but we say we're not quite done so gonna hang. Server seems oddly annoyed by this. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Maybe 20 minutes later the speaker next to us is cranked up in volume. We had a couple people go to restroom and take different routes and it appeared only our speaker was turned up[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. One of the people in our group (who had brought their baby -who never cried or did anything other then quietly snuggle- was like "well I'm out of here" and left. We all were kinda done so started doing the goodbye dance and a couple went to use restroom. They were stopped on the way back and told they could no longer use the main entrance to the area they were in due to a private party. Now to be clear. Maybe ten people have come into this place since we sat. This place could seat a couple hundred. There is NO ONE in the private party area. Oh and that delivery lane? The only people who have walked through that door were two employees who looked like they were leaving for the day one of whom was the original employee who moved us. She was carrying a small box so I guess I get it. Safety first. Then the employee who stopped us from using the entrance started putting up que line poles but only by our table. Overall just a weird experience. I think the employees came off as snobby, entitled (the fact that someone said out loud - you do know this is Kaiser Tiger during World Cup right?). It was obvious they needed us to clear out probably the table we were moved to was needed for private party. The speaker thing was a jerk move. All of it alone was no big deal but as it happened over and over it spoke volumes about the staff and I'm not that shocked that the place was dead. Fire lanes and speaker shenanigans aside place looked cool and food wasn't bad but you couldn't pay me to go there again with the service received. It'd be different if we were loud or obnoxious or even somehow killing the vibe by bringing a baby to a bar. But this place was a ghost town and we were a pretty subdued group of 8 just talking. We went here before a concert at the United Center. They have a complimentary shuttle to the center which was extremely convenient. We didn't make a reservation because we came from 3+ hours away and weren't sure with traffic when we would arrive. They thankfully had a spot open in their uncovered beer garden. [[HIGHLIGHT]]As parents of a baby who recently started walked and very excited about it we usually try to go to places where we can let him walk around safely.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Theres a few patios that are our go-to because of their baby-friendliness but we decided to try something different today and come to Kaiser because they have a huge patio that's usually empty. Big mistake . [[HIGHLIGHT]]As expected , there were only two tables (including us) on our side of the patio, shortly after we arrived we were told "it would be better if toys were not on the floor because someone could trip" (the toys in question were one Lego piece between two tables, ours and the one next to ours that was empty)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. We promptly picked up and shortly after another concern about our child was brought upon. This happened two more times for other reasons that are not even worth mentioning . [[HIGHLIGHT]]We do understand children are not welcomed in most places, that's the reason why we are very selective about the places we go to.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Before entering any establishment we typically say , we have a baby with us , is that okey ? Because we think that if children are considered a big liability or a major inconvenience it should be disclosed before seating a guest.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My issue is my experience today is that we were told coming in with a baby was fine but our experience during the stay was stressful due to the constant remarks of the staff (not our waiter , he was amazing ) If you have a baby with you and want a more relaxed experience we recommend , Diego or big star a couple blocks from Kaiser. We started with the giant pretzel and a large plate of fries that came with 5 different sauces. My favorites were the beer cheese, garlic aioli and rosemary aioli. Highly recommend sharing both these with the table! For my main entree I got the quinoa salad and it was so good!!!! Very fresh and not a boring salad at all! My husband and I stopped by while we were in the area. This restaurant has a good beer and cocktail list. They also have many food options to pick from as well. I had a feeling that the sausage would be a safer choice, but I ordered the smash burger instead. The size was good, but the burger was pretty flavorless. The aioli was my favorite ingredient on the burger. With so many better burger options within 1-2 miles, I would skip the burger here. The hand cut fries were excellent. My husband also loved the sausage sandwich he ordered as well. I was slightly distracted during my meal on the patio by the squirrel sized rat that kept running by (I know that this is outside of their control), but I would probably stay away from the patio next time. read more

Had a great time here this past weekend. The fries with all the sauces were a great experience. I really liked trying a bunch of different sauces and deciding on the best one. We grabbed a quick bite and went curling on a Sunday. The food was alright. We got the sausage and cheese board. Can't really screw those up, so no complaints. I ordered a gluwein and it was served at room temperature. I was very unimpressed. The bathroom was very disgusting. There were both caked floor drains and air vents. It was clear it hasn't been cleaned, likely for days. The curling was fun and a clever idea. They have 2 lanes outside with 2 different weights of stone. Ok it's Friday. I walk in at 2:45 and am the only person at the bar. Shortly it starts filling in for happy hour. At 4:30 I'm told I have to close my tab and go upstairs as there is a private party that rented the main bar (first floor) out. I square up and walk up stairs. Guess what? As u watched all these people come in and go upstairs wondering what was upstairs they took every seat at the bar. Upon explaining my situation to the very rude little troll she says she has a solution. Comes back several minutes later with a chair and expects me to sit in the corner. I walk downstairs and express my disappointment to the bartender downstairs who never mentioned this to me. He says "I got you bro. Have a seat". Well ten minutes later I get the "Hey buddy you got 5 minutes." This was my first and definitely my last time in this place. That little troll who I was told was a manager couldn't have been ruder. Let's get this out of the way up top. If you are reading this, thinking that they still have the infamous bacon bomb, I have good news and bad news. Bad news first; no bacon bomb. Good news is that they have lots of delicious things that could (should!) be more compelling! We had a few of their boards; the bacon board (delicious), sausage and cheese board (good and great), fries, beers, and dessert. The only overwhelming thing were the desserts... deep fried cheese cake was VERY rich. Order half of what you think is enough. Good tho Service was great. He also let us know that if we had plans to go to the United center for a show, they offer a shuttle, which is a nice perk!
