Super affordable hidden gem for sushi lovers. Tasty, generous rolls and an All-You-Can-Eat option that gives you amazing value. My takeaways from this place are: - Tasty Rolls: Delicious, creative options like the torched Kakuna Roll and specialty rolls stacked high with fresh fish. - AYCE Option: Great value if you want to sample a ton of different rolls, nigiri, and appetizers in one sitting. (See menu photo for that - it's the white paper) - It's Super Affordable!!: budget-friendly prices without sacrificing quality or fresh flavor. Friendly staff. Clean and quite place. Giving 4 stars bc the miso soup was not good at all - tasted like soap! ‍

Second time coming here. Fish is super fresh. I chose to order the Sashimi Deluxe over the AYCE. It is relaxing here with no rush from the staff. Dining area is clean, spacious and airy. I definitely recommend

Not sure what roll this was but it was good. Waiter wasn't sure too but here you go. Lol

Great food. Quick service wish the menu had names next to the rolls of the pictures. They have an all you can eat menu but we were full off of 3 rolls and 10 nigiri's for a group of 2 adults and 2 kids and we had left over hamachi Kama and half another roll. Hope this helps.

Friendly staff, duy anh was very helpful and offer to recommend items for me since it's my first time here. Good and fresh fish and lots of interesting rolls both hot and cold. Reasonable priced. Big space in a small striped mall in middle of Milpitas.

Multiple locations throughout the Bay Area. I guess people come here for the deals and overall affordability. The interior is no frills with bare walls. My bf and I ordered a few rolls to share. They were decent but nothing stood out. This place really loves their tobiko (tiny orange stuff on top of the rolls pictured). There were also remnants of it from the previous group that sat at our table.

An ayce and a la carte casual sushi spot. They have more interesting rolls than most other spots. Quality is solid. Had tried gaijin roll and nut cracker roll before and loved those. This time tried the boujee roll and the mukbang roll and was less impressed. I ordered this thru delivery and when the stuff that was tempura came it was a bit soggy. For the mukbang roll, I feel like the seaweed gives the poke a weird taste. It was ok but didn't love it. Overall, love that they have crazy combinations for rolls and they got a huge variety. Quality is consistent with what a casual sushi spot puts out. Prices are comparable but I think the ayce price probably really good if you want to try many different rolls

Absolutely loved my experience at Kakuna Sushi! Everything we ordered was fresh, beautifully presented, and really flavorful. The sushi had great quality, and there was a nice variety of rolls and options to choose from. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere was also really nice--casual, comfortable, and perfect for a sushi date or dinner with friends. Definitely a spot I'd come back to when I'm craving sushi. Highly recommend giving Kakuna Sushi a try!

I'd give this a 3.5 stars, but since the pricing is reasonable and they have happy hour specials I'm rounding up to a 4. I come here at least once a month sometimes more often for their take out happy hour. It's a good deal with two rolls for $11.99. They aren't speciality rolls, but it's still better than your grocery store sushi. I've also gotten their chicken teriyaki on happy hour. It's mid, but when I want to eat healthy since it isn't greasy it does the job. After restaurant prices are getting expensive, this is my go to when I want something healthy but on a budget.

Service was great. There are a lot of options on the menu. The staff members are really nice!

Kakuna Sushi is one of the places that does change my mind about rolls. I usually don't go for rolls, but I do find myself coming here when I want something more indulgent. Their rolls are huge, really good quality, and priced well. Everything is super flavorful and they come up with unique combinations that actually work. It's a great takeout spot or quick dine in option. Service is fast and gets the job done. Inside can get pretty noisy and it does kind of smell like mop water the times I've gone, which is why I usually prefer to take it to go.

Sushi well worth it. Very fresh and delicious!!

Fresh and delicious! Quick seating , and great service. I would definitely come back again!

Worst AYCE sushi. Undercooked and gross rice. My cousin and I both got diarrhea after and this was all we ate

THE WORST AYCE SUSHI I'VE HAD!!! Are the 5 star ratings fake???? They offer free coconut jelly dessert if you give them a 5 star rating; sign posted on their wall. I went here for my birthday lunch on Sunday since I saw all the "great" reviews. It's $47.95 per person and our entire party was incredibly disappointed. We had to force ourselves to finish all the sushi because if you don't, they charge you $1.50 per piece left unfinished. The rice was the worst rice we've ever had. It was stale, old and undercooked rice. For a sushi place, this should have been an easy thing for them to do. The rolls were not good. The only roll that was ok was the orange blossom. We regret coming and spending our time and money here. The service was also so bad. My cousin and I both ended having diarrhea after eating here and we didn't eat anything else. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

Kakuna sushi is a local favorite - I used to drive all the way up to Fremont for this, and I'm grateful now there's one in town!

As of July 2026, how much is the all you can eat (AYCE) menu for lunch and dinner? Thanks

Do they offer a baked seafood dynamite? It’s not the dynamite roll but more a Baked dynamite seafood rice appetizer baked in a casserole, ramekin or foil tin that’s on the menu, secret menu or by special request?

How much for toro and uni?

I believe they're market price, so better to ask them on the day you plan to go. There was no price tag on the menu for them.

What are the days and hours?

You can order by the server or tablet (if it's on the table), they're very accommodating to requests and substitutions. I got the Tonkatsu Ramen with a less salty broth and my friends got the regular broth. With the less salty broth, you can tell it's diluted but the flavor still remains. The regular broth keeps it creamy. Both are savory. Noodles are soft and well-cooked, love how the meat is balanced with the fatty parts, and toppings are well-proportioned to the noodles.

In terms of price, this place is very affordable, with each bowl costing under $20, which is not expensive. The only downside is that the space inside is quite small, so you may have to wait if it gets crowded. However, overall the restaurant is very clean, the broth is solid, and the thick noodles have a great chewy texture. Next time, I'll probably try the thin noodles. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys ramen. Overall rating: 4.5 out of 5.

This is your traditional ramen with a broth. When I want to eat ramen, this is exactly what I imagine a bowl of ramen looking like. The spice is perfect and the broth is so flavorful. The only issue is you can't really drink the broth after you finish the noodles because it is a bit spicy and salty too. The noodles are the perfect consistency and the fixings are also so good such as the egg and the seaweed. I've also gotten the Tsukemen before and I love that you can get the broth added at the end to drink the dipping bowl. The service is good here but if you come at a popular time there may be a wait.

Since it was our first time, the staff took the time to explain the menu and walk us through it. One item from our order was missed, which was the only thing keeping this from a full five stars, but they handled it well and brought it out right away. I like that you get nice chunks of Char Siu, Bean Sprouts, Kikurage Mushrooms, Green Onions and Kamaboko (Fish Cake) too. You get a good amount of food. They use an oil hot sauce, which my son and I prefer, over the powdered type other Ramen places use. The oil is spicier than the powder. My wife enjoys their Hawaiian dishes.
