Newly opened. Minimal and simple decor. Rolls are fresh. Acceptable prices. Friendly staff. This restaurant replaced V Sushi. Would like to come back and try their bento items and chirashi. Not bad for a first experience here.

Gohan (cooked rice in Japanese) Sushi is a newly established Japanese restaurant just opened three weeks ago located right across the parking lot from In-N-Out Burger. Came by on a Sunday morning greeted very warmly by the owner/manager first off she offer a complimentary cup of tea along with a glass of iced water. Going over the menu I order the following items: Katsu donburi a popular Japanese comfort food consisting of a deep fried pork cutlets simmered with onions layer with drizzled fried egg beaten over a large bowl of rice. Second on the list: Five crispy takoyaki ball shaped street food layer with sweet sauce stuffed with creamy soft diced octopus topped with kewpie mayo and lastly Ramune a popular soft drink. Spacious dine-in a sushi bar great place to hang out with families and co-workers will definitely be back for fried oysters and sushi-rolls prices are more reasonable than other Japanese restaurants so support your local business as May is AAPI Heritage month.

I was really sad to see Vsushi go. When this place opened up, I decided to give it a try. They had just opened for a couple days, the inside is cleaned up and modernized. They had a bunch of options to choose from on the menu besides sushi. I decided to get some rolls, and I was not disappointed. The rolls were delicious and for the price you pay, you can't beat it. I enjoyed every single thing, and another thing is that they had fresh wasabi! Not a lot of places had fresh wasabi! You do have to pay for it but that's totally fine. I will be coming back again.

I think that I've come here about 10 times already and I've narrowed my favorites down to 3 items: Mark's Special ($16.50) for the scallops, Storm Bringer ($18) for the crab, and Pork Belly Bento ($21.50) a good bang for your buck, leaving us with leftovers to pack for lunch the next day! I've been to a good number of sushi spots but I always find myself coming back to Sen Dai because they just never miss. Must try!

The wasabi sauce was aight 10 pc sashimi combo - nice variety Beef bulgogi rice plate - kind basic but we ordered this for the SO (non seafood liker) Our order fed 5 people total and everyone definitely came out so full. I can't say anything about the interior since my sister picked up the order. She did say that after placing the order online, she received a call to confirm the order. I thought that was nice. Overall, Sen Dai would be my go-to for quality fish at a decent price.

And I've tried a fair share of omakase places. The prix fixe 9 course meal was $150 per person, and I personally feel the quality of the ingredients and overall seasoning of the dishes did not meet that price point. It was already a rough start with the appetizers. I'm also a texture person so maybe someone else would like these but I was not a fan of the vegetable jelly nor the goopy seaweed salad. Had I known this prior to dining I don't think I would have wanted to go with the omakase menu. The chawanmushi was very underseasoned and missing salt completely. On the menu it says it has crab in it but the only crab meat you get with it comes in a tiny claw that you have no way of digging out The nigiri, which I was most excited for, fell VERY flat. The fish wasn't particularly fresh and I found a bone in my nigiri. (??) The rice was also really dry and mushy. I was genuinely so disappointed at this. Miso sea bass was overly sweet which didn't really work with how fatty the fish was. It was too much. Also found more bones in the miso sea bass but that's less gobsmacking than finding it in your nigiri. The dessert, matcha tiramisu, just tasted like straight up cream and not sweet at all. I don't have a sweet tooth by any means but this could've used sugar. I didn't feel very good eating this, the fattiness of the cream plus not having any flavor ruined it for me :( Overall, the main theme is just the lack of seasoning in any of the dishes plus ingredients not being fresh. I know it's Kaiseki style, but the dishes also seemed very uninspired and plating was kinda messy. When I looked closely, the plates weren't clean and there were marks.. Maybe I'm being nitpicky but at a price point like this, the details matter. Word of advice, if you live in South Bay and want omakase, just take your $ and drive an hour up to SF. My bf took me here to celebrate our anniversary and I feel awful about how bad it was.. +1 star for the friendly service.

It was an hour before lunch closing but the waitress brought me to a table without any hesitation. I thoroughly enjoyed everything I ordered! Oyster special: packed with umami! The melt in the mouth roll doesn't actually melt in your mouth unfortunately and it was close to $20. Still tasty but a bit underwhelming. The messy roll was solid. Also enjoyed the hamachi kama. So good with that sauce and lemon! The service was quick and friendly. The place itself was pretty spacious and clean with somewhat dim lighting. Would be back if i'm in the area craving sushi.

I ended up ordering almost the entire menu because I hadn't eaten all day and work completely took over my life. I got two Lion King rolls, a salmon skin roll, and baked mussels. The baked mussels were the standout--really delicious--but definitely on the heavier side. Overall, everything leaned rich and sauce-forward, which I realized was partly my fault since I focused on baked rolls instead of lighter options like sashimi. If you're not into baked rolls, they can be a little intense, so I'd make sure that's your thing before ordering. The salmon skin roll was a nice reset--more traditional, not overly flavorful, with just enough sauce to balance things out. In the future, I'd probably ask for less sauce overall, especially on the mussels, because it bordered on too much. That said... the value is insane. My total, including tip, was about $64 for six sushi items (including mussels), which feels like a steal. I personally found it a bit too flavorful, but my boyfriend thought it was amazing and was beyond happy--so clearly this place hits for the right audience. Would I order again? Absolutely. The deal alone makes it hard not to.

The takoyaki was good and tasted like traditional takoyaki. We ordered the sushi pro roll, the unagi pro roll and BB roll. They aren't very accommodating for change as we asked to substitute unagi for salmon (as the salmon was raw, as mentioned earlier, needed fully cooked) and they delivered the roll without the salmon and nothing as a substitute for the missing salmon. If I knew that I would've just ordered a different roll as the price didn't change. Rolls were okay but overpriced at $18 per roll. And even more so with my missing topping. I'm happy that they didn't put sesame on the rolls as we have an allergy.
