Yum! I really enjoyed my dinner. I came for dinner, party of 2, on a Thursday night. Not many people in the restaurant at that time, maybe 2 additional tables. The restaurant was clean, the service was great; we were served by a kind lady. The food was yummy and filling. To drink, we ordered makgeolli, this was bigger than I expected and the yuza yakult makgeolli; delicious. For dinner we had the KFC, my husband thought the crust was a little to thick for his liking and Cheese katsu. All the side dishes were delicious and we appreciated how the server informed us about each side dish. I was worried we'd have to look for street parking, but the restaurant is right next to the parking lot; we didn't have any issues. This restaurants is worth a try.

Rice Junky Katsu is a new Korean katsu specialized place in San Jose. It features 8 types of katsu meal, of which we tried: - Pork tenderloin katsu + banchan tray set ($25): breaded tenderloin katsu with cabbage salad. Tenderloin was a bit hard to chew, and not really tender at all. Banchan was generous, with stewed ribs, kimchi, pickled cucumber (2 styles), and potatoes salad. - Gyukatsu + premium banchan tray set ($41): breaded beef cutlet with cabbage salad, served likely raw with a grilled pan and butter for you to cook it yourself. Beef texture was also not really tender, maybe because they chose the very lean part of the beef. Banchan was similar, had kimchi, pickled cucumber (2 styles), potatoes salad but added 2 premium dishes - shrimp ceviche and smoked salmon. They also have some side dish options on their menu, of which we had the soy marinated salmon ($19). It was surprisingly my most favorite dish. The salmon was very savory, served with wasabi mayo and onions and went really well with white rice. Super addicting! This experience was not impressive enough, but I still want to go back and try the king tiger prawn katsu. Hopefully it will be better next time!

Service is great here! They're attentive and checked in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. We got the perilla noodles, pork katsu, gyukatsu, and 2 cocktails. One of the cocktails was sold out so we got a diff one on the house! The makgeoli cocktail is creamy and so refreshing. I loved it and would order again. Perilla noodles were okay. We didn't expect it to be so vinegary. Perilla flavor isn't really there which was disappointing. The katsu was super crispy and worth getting! Gyukatsu is okay, I wish the cut was thinner. It's quite pricey for what you get.

Lunch date with mom was another success thanks to this restaurant. The food: The cheese katsu was cheesy and the side dishes were yummy! My favorite was the buttery, savory clam soup: perfect for a rainy day. The ambience: Though it is not really big, the beautiful wall paintings and framed photos make the place special. The service: I loved how our servers were so caring, accommodating and attentive to my elderly mom. They served ice water at first but seeing my mom, they knew she rather have hot water and brought her hot water in a cute mug. We would definitely come back with friends and family.

Saw a lot of buzz on social media about Rice Junky has a new location opening, so we waited for a few weeks for the traffic to die down. Went there on a weekday at noon and there weren't yet a lot of customers, the place is very nicely decorated and it has a Korean nightclub vibe, the staffs are very friendly and fun to chat with. We ordered a couple sides with one Pork Katsu plate, they all came quickly and the Katsu is HUGE! so if you go with a couple of friends, it's probably a good idea just to share one Katsu or you'll bring a togo bag with you when you are done eating. The Spicy Beef Brisket Cold Pasta is also meal sized, it's in Korean Italian fusion style and we really like the twist, goes great for a hot day.

Great new spot! Seoul Classic Pork Cutlet was very good, although... next time I will ask for the sauce on the side - pouring it over the cutlet was too much and not well balanced. Cutlet was cooked to perfection - the breading was light and crispy.. not at all greasy. So delish! Staff were very nice ... they did mess up one order but they duly corrected the error. Its a small place... so get there early. They have plenty of parking ... so that was nice. Would I go back? YES! More dishes to try.

Yeah I have unfinished business with Rice Junky Katsu. I like the original rice junky, rice junky katsu isn't open late, and specializes in katsu. In my opinion, katsu has a relatively low ceiling. I've never had truly incredible katsu. Needless to say, this katsu was quite nice, but didn't really blow my mind. What I really liked was the amount of banchan/side dishes that the katsu comes with. Some standouts are the pickles and the mushroom soup. It is really expensive though. Back to the unfinished business. I came here to try the gyukatsu, only to find that it's only served for dinner, not for lunch. I'll be back. Looking back, the ambiance of this restaurant was quite nice, and the parking wasn't too tough either. Enough talk.

Another TikTok viral spot. I know there was a Rice Junky open somewhere in SJ but never got the chance to try it so was glad to see they opened a new one which seemed to be a little more contemporary menu and higher scale based. You can miss the restaurant as it's on a busy street with the parking lot on the side including the street parking. The windows are kind dark to see through as the blinds were down because the store does face the sun, so when we walked by we originally thought it was closed. It is a very intimate restaurant but nonetheless a bunch of seating inside. Menu is quite short and sweet but we ordered one of the Katsu sets and the Shrimp Katsu. I would say that the shrimp katsu was on the bit pricer side and I would probably pass on it and stick with the chicken/pork options. They also have a spicy noodle challenge for any contender to take on which I thought that was fun as there was a pair of guys that decided to try it. Service itself was great. Both waiters were very welcoming and attended to our needs as such.

I have recently been on a katsu kick and was please to find out that there was a new restaurant that popped up. My husband and I stopped by around 5:30pm on a Saturday. The private parking lot was cracking and the restaurant looked really busy, but luckily we were able to get a table for 2 without waiting. I remember Doordashing from Rice Junky when it was focused on street food. One of the servers explained that they still have the same owners but were offering a different cuisine concept. In addition to katsu sets, I saw that Rice Junky still offered unique dishes and snacks. We shared an order of the brisket cold noodles and the gyukatsu (beef cutlet). The brisket cold noodles dish was tasty. It consisted of thin rice noodles and thinly sliced vegetables, making it also very refreshing. My only complaint was that I wish it had more slices of brisket. Rice Junky's gyukatsu is nothing like the gyukatsu I've had in Japan, which is honestly better, but I would still eat Rice Junky's. I felt like the pieces were too thick, so they didn't sear quickly. Also Rice Junky's beef cutlet wasn't seasoned. In Japan, they give you salt and sauces to dress up the meat. I did enjoy a couple of banchan in the set. The creamy mushroom sauce was the best. It was so good that I used it as the sauce to dip the meat. I was also a big fan of the salmon slices with pesto. The pickled cucumber and kimchi radish were what I expected. It also came with a dish of marinated pork, which I didn't eat since I don't eat pork.

We liked it so much that we brought some other friends to experience this menu of Korean-style Katsu. My wife and I, each ordered the Seoul Classic Pork Cutlet. Flavorful and just a huge piece. I love it. Our group of friends also got different kinds of katsu and enjoyed it. So, hopefully they can add it to their dine-out options.

Went during the soft opening. There was a wait for the deals. Luckily we got to put our name and number down for them to contact us. Their estimate was pretty good too! I got the pork katsu and the table shared the crispy pork belly. Presentation was nice, I liked the variety of sides, and flavor was good. Loved the crispy pork belly! Service was nice, but something happened with the kitchen and staff so our order got lost = waited awhile.

The Katsu Tenderloin set was perfectly cooked and moist! I tried some of my friend's Katsu Cutlet and found that to be really good too. Very crispy! If you're a big eater, portion size could be a bit small. But it's a decent portion overall. We came during their 50% promo but still found it pretty pricey. The menu was a bit confusing, but the price you see is the price you pay. It's pretty pricey if regular price is $52 for the Tenderloin Katsu ($26 promo) and $39 ($19 promo) for the Katsu Cutlet. But if you have the opportunity, check them out. Rice Junky Katsu is one of the better katsu spots in the area.

Stuck for jury duty or are just in the area? Have no fear! Rice Junky Katsu is here! When I came, I didn't see that many people come here for lunch but let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were sooooo sweet! I can be a bit picky with my Katsu since my mom made it all the time for me, but this place reminded me of home. The katsu was crispy, the portions are massive (and I could eat a lot) and I had enough to save for dinner! At the end of the meal, one of the kind looking aunties offered me a small iced coffee drink, which was just a perfect way to end the meal. Would absolutely come back, even if I wasn't in the area! (P.S Go into the bathroom and take some pics the room was so cute!!)

I'm glad I did and was definitely delighted by the experience. Hot Stone Bibimbap 5/5: There was a review on Yelp saying that there was no crunchy rice at the bottom and that it was bland. As a fellow Korean, let me give you some advice. Wait a few minutes and let the rice cook more because the stone bowl is still hot. lift up the bottom until you see crunchy bits and then you could start mixing. Excellent mix of seasoned vegetables and rice. They give you the gochujang bottle sauce on the side. you can adjust it to your level. Soon Tofu Soup 5/5. I've had a lot of tofu soup of what I like about this one is that it had a good balance of tofu, kimchi was not super sour like some restaurants and they give you an egg on the side. Very clean finish. Banchan 5/5: The highlight for me was the banchan. I went with a very picky eater friend and she really loved the kimchi ,the cucumber kimchi ,the fish cakes, japchae. They put a lot of effort into making the banchan - which I recognize right away. They also fill up if you run out and the dishes are larger than normal restaurants. Amazing. You read my mind. Interior 4/5: It is a smaller, more intimate seating.( about 25-30 people) . It still has the vibes of of a Korean eatery with K-pop music playing on the TV screen, wooden benches and chairs. You'll have to wait a bit if you go during peak hours and parking is a bit difficult. I suggest going within the first hour they open up when there's less crowds.

The beef soup came boiling, and there was a generous amount of beef, mushrooms, and tofu. The only complaint I have is the soup ratio was less than what I'm used to so about halfway through the pot there wasn't much soup left to pour onto the rice the way I normally do. But that's not a bad thing, means you're getting more protein! Service was great, but it's a bit expensive from what I'm used to so I docked a star. I'll check out other places and see if this is just the normal pricing for the area.

Went to Jeonju yesterday with a couple of friends to grab dinner. We must've went on an off day,…read moresince about 30% of the menu was sold out! This wasn't too much of an issue, and we ended up ordering cheese corn, pork tofu soup, and the galbijjim. Though the wait staff was a one-man show, he was efficient, kind, and attentive. Kept us stocked with water and got us whatever we needed right away (ladle, bowl, etc). Banchan came out almost immediately after ordering. The food was really yummy. One of my friends and I are sensitive to spicy foods, so we were a bit intimidated when the food came out RED. However, the spice level was truly mild and just a little kick of heat. The galbi was extremely tender and everything was well seasoned. My only other issue is the prices are a bit high. You can get similar food for a couple bucks less at spots in Santa Clara. Overall, a great experience and I wouldn't hesitate to come back again!

We ordered the Iron Plate Seafood Pancake, Seafood Bibimbap, LA Style Grilled Beef Ribs, and Grilled Beef Brisket. Overall, food was decent but I felt like the ingredients did not taste especially fresh or of high quality compared to their other location in Milpitas. Super busy atmosphere when we were there and customer service was substandard. Although we didn't have the best dining experience, I'm sad to see this place go!

Came to Danbi around 730pm on a Friday night and there were maybe 3 other parties inside. It's…read morebrightly lit inside, with plenty of tables and a rather open space. Service was brisk. We were just looking for some quick bites, so we ordered a seafood pancake and meat jun to share. Both of these were very generous portions. The seafood pancake had a nice light crisp, and was full of seafood and green onion, while the meat jun game on a bed of fresh cabbage and was full of tender, sweet and flavorful bulgolgi. We really enjoyed both with the banchan! Danbi has some great offerings, and I'll definitely try to come again to try some of the entrees and other things when I'm in the area and looking for a full meal!

I would have given 5 stars but knocking off two stars due to poor service with one of the servers…read more I've been coming to this restaurant for many years, dating back to the previous owners, who were always warm and welcoming. I have many fond memories of dining here. The food is still excellent. We ordered the tofu and chicken bubbling soup along with the bibimbap, and everything was delicious. The quality of the food is definitely a reason I would return. Unfortunately, the service was very inconsistent. There were two servers during our visit. One was incredibly kind, professional, attentive, and welcoming. She checked on us, offered more side dishes, and was very sweet with my six-year-old son. I even thanked her personally at the end of the meal because her hospitality stood out. The other server, however, made the experience uncomfortable. From the moment we arrived, there was no warm greeting -- we were simply asked how many were in our party. We were seated at a very small table, and when I politely asked if we could move to a larger one since we were ordering multiple dishes with sides and I had my young son with me, she looked visibly annoyed. Throughout the meal, she kept making faces when I asked normal questions about the menu or requested an extra to-go box. These were simple customer requests, and her reactions felt rude and unnecessary. I also noticed that several other reviews mention a woman making faces during service, and based on my experience, I believe this may be the same server. That kind of behavior really affects the dining experience and should be addressed by management. Hospitality matters, especially in a restaurant setting. Good food is important, but customers should also feel welcome and respected. Overall, I would come back because the food was delicious, and the other server was genuinely lovely. However, I hope the owner takes the service concerns seriously. If I return, I would likely ask to be seated with the kind server who made us feel welcome.
