I have been dealing with Kal tire for years, today that has ended. My wife's car which has tires from Kal Tire had a nail in it, I know it's tire season right now but I left the car at the Richmond Hill store at 7:15am and went back after work to the Kal Tire store at 5:15pm. The acting manager Adam was out so I spoke to the technician who came to the front. He was never even told about my car. I didn't yell, I didn't make a scene I just asked if the tire can get done. I was told no. They were short a tech. While I was there there were 2 tech's one just completed a car the other one I was talking to was doing nothing but I was told sorry nothing I could do?? My car was there for almost 10hrs and a 30 minute tire repair was never done. As I was leaving the I told the tech "that's it, no help" I turned to walk out the door and he says to me "Go complain to HR"? I was not a Karen I didn't yell because that never works. I guess being courteous and hoping to get help in a type spot is something Kal Tire RICHMOND HILL doesn't care about. I don't like seeing anyone lose a job, but the 2 gentlemen I dealt with today do not deserve jobs. i took my SUV in to deal with a road noise issue that started at 60km/h. i told them it was either a bearing or slipped belt. Their guy said it was a tire issue and that all the tires needed replacing. Those Pirelli pzero tires don't last long. Went back and forth about replacing a pair but ended up replacing all four as suggested -but with cheaper Goodyear. So, $1700 later the car still has the same road noise starting at 60. No road test to confirm their work or was it ignored? But they can change and balance 4 tires in 30 minutes! Too bad I waited til 4pm to get the car. My original tires were nowhere to be found when I asked for them - off to the scrap yard. So I have 4 tires I didn't need and all sorts of excuses. The staff here are super friendly. What bothers me is that they promised me a brake inspection and yet the next day I find out I have zero brake pads remaining and the grinding noise is metal on metal. I almost caused major damage to my brake calipers. I would ask that technicians here inspect the vehicle better during servicing. Specifically, always do a quick road test, and always check the brake and wheel area for damage or important repairs. I do not know what to be looking for, and I am unhappy that these technicians focus only on the tires and that's it. I wish they provided more full service wheel inspections instead of getting me out as fast as possible. read more

Please, if you care about your vehicle and your safety, don't take your car here! One of their techs is extremely inexperienced and doesn't care at all. They stripped the posts on the hubs of my partners tires, told him to buy a whole new $400 hub and let him take the car. Unprofessional & just plain ignorant (in the sense that the tech was in a rush and just wanted to leave at the end of the day.) What tire shop gives their clients their cars back withOUT all the tires completely bolted on?! Luckily it was a free fix at another shop. STEER CLEAR of this place. EDIT: It's the customer service team who told us to spend an additional $400. We've gone to Midas, who fixed Kal's botched job and made our family vehicle safe again. read more

DISHONEST. They are not upright in their dealings. I wanted to buy tires and the sales person pushed for some tires telling me there will be a $100+ rebate. But now their website has gone dead on that option. I sent them via email my invoice but no one bothered to reply even after a month. Very dishonest dealing. read more

I made an appointment last week for a tire change. I came to the store at 11:55 and they were ready to start work at 12, right when my appointment was. When you make an appointment you have to tell them what kind of service you need, what your car, tire size, brand are. Guess what - you have to go through the exact same questionnaire in the store, because their IT systems can't communicate with each other. Why ask all these questions when you book an appointment then? The guy helping me out told me about a diner nearby - Stanfield Family Restaurant - where Kal Tire's customers enjoy a 10% discount. The food was awesome he said, and agreed to call me right when the work is done. I got my lunch - which was mediocre with poor service - and returned to Kal Tire. I was happy to find out that the car was done and the guy forgot to give me a call. I signed all the papers, and headed back to my car. On the way to my car I realized that they didn't inflate the tires to the right pressure. The guy tried to give me a couple of nonsensical excuses before he agreed to do the job right. Took my 2001 Cadillac in for an alignment after doing all 4 shocks and springs myself. I got there early on Saturday because I'm not a jerk and they had my car in and out in 40 min. The job was well done, the price was fair and tech was respectful. I'll be going back this week for an oil change just because it's a no hassle, no ego shop. read more

Hi so I've had good experiences with Kal tire on a previous visit in etobicoke, but this Kal tire was a completely different ballgame. I ran through a deep pothole, damaged my rim and tire. So I came here to get the tire and have it fitted to my car. Spoke to the customer service agent, he sounded very impolite and hurried, like he couldn't care to listen and do the job. Anyways, I just wanted everything done and also requested Wheel alignment as the pothole was deep. He said next available spot was a week later and alignment was on 'discount' for 89:99, guess I had no choice so I decided on that date. Come that day and I go, it took them only 10 min to put in the new rim and tire and it sounded suspicious how it was put on so fast so I asked if the alignment was done but it wasn't. Seems like one hand of this business doesn't know what the other hand was doing. The customer agent giving me the keys stated I'll have to come in again and they will give me a 'discount' for the inconvenience, which was the same price I was quoted before. I said no thank you as I would rather take my business elsewhere where they actually cared about it. Really disappointed with the service and lack of communication between the different agents. Will not do business again at this kal tire. read more

Cannot recommend. Feel I was treated very dishonestly. This one is near my work and my normal shop is near my home, so I thought I'd give them a try. Made an appointment to change my snow tires off in the spring as I have both sets on rims. Arrived on time. It took them 45 minutes to get my vehicle in the shop while I waited despite there being only one other bay occupied. When they finally got the wheels off they said ALL the wheel nuts had been over torqued and two studs were broken (impossible). In the end - remember, they had my vehicle hostage on a lift without wheels - it took nearly $300 and 3.5 hours to switch my rims. Insane. I'm reporting them to the KAL tire head office and the Better Business Bureau. I will NEVER do business there again and am advising everyone I know in the area. SCAM SCAM SCAM read more

this is a total rip off business.. sold me tires and did an unasked for tire alignment .. front end needed work before an alignment should be done... wheels were flopping up and down needing tie rod ends ! not only this but sold me tires that were inferior to ones I asked for...both were Michelin but the ones I wanted were not the ones I received .. charging me the same for an inferior tire .. I called them and asked them to redeem themselves .. I would buy another set of tires if they would do an alignment at their cost since they ripped me off last transaction .. told them I would leave a bad review if they would not . seems they care nothing about consumer ... Previous experience with Kal Tire on Stanfield in Mississauga was so good that I often recommended it. My friend needed replacement tires so I took her here expecting the same good experience. Did not get it. We arrived at 2:15. The waiting room was very cold. Yes, it is winter but we should not have to sit indoors with gloves on. They started work on the car more or less on time so that is good. However, it was not clear to me what happened but somehow the tool that removes the bolts on the tires broke and they had to send for a part from some place nearby. Really! They only had one to these things in a place devoted to tires? We sat patiently for an hour. We pointed out to the service rep that even if the part comes now, there was not enough time to mount the tires and do the alignment. He suggested that if the part came soon, they could mount the tires and we could come back for the alignment. Not much of an apology and no offer of a discount or other compensation. This was completely unacceptable. There was no way we were driving that car without the alignment in current winter conditions. It was now 4:20, we gave up and cancelled the order and asked for the car back. Service rep was indifferent. Full marks to the mechanic who offered to stay after hours and do the complete job. By then, it was almost closing time and we did not want to sit and freeze for another 2 hours. read more

We purchased our tires here because the prices were reasonable. When one caught a nail I called to get an appointment and order a replacement. I was hung up on twice and later told that it happened because it was "just 15 minutes after they opened." When I finally got to speak to someone they said they would order the tire and call me back that day. I never received a call. The next day I called and I was told by someone else that they tire wasn't ordered, but they would call me back. They again didnt call. The third day that I called they said the order had arrived and they booked me an appointment for the following day. Of course I show up for the appointment and they say I'm not booked in and will have to wait double the usual time. Plus the person helping me tries to skirt around the warranty and I have to point out the policy to him. Very poor customer service. read more

I went to Mississauga branch of Kal Tire here because I wanted to put on all weather tires on my son's car and the Nordman seem to be a good value choice. Everything seem to be good, the service desk was very accommodating and helpful. Then the big disappointment came when I saw the technician was not balancing my new tires. He was just mounting it in the balancing machine, closing the shield cover but I looked at the tires and it was not spinning at all. He was just mounting it on the balancer for show. I waited until he did three tires before I asked the service desk if the machine is broken because as I did not see the tires spin during balancing. The service desk asked the technician to redo all the tires and in those times, This time I saw the tires spin during and the technician put on some balancing leads. I was very disappointed in the fact these technicians owe their job to the customers that buy their product but instead of appreciation, they spit in our faces while they take our hard earned money and don't feel any guilt about it. People, you don't have to take my word for this but all I ask is that you watch your vehicle whenever you have it there or anywhere else for service. I few days ago I called the Mississauga location on a Monday (Jan 01, 2016) to inquire if they carried the tire I was looking for and told them the brand, the size, and the amount of tires I needed, the sales rep on the phone told me to come by the store as they have it in stock. I arrive 30 minutes later was asked about my info. Then the sales rep who I spoke with on the phone told me that he will have the tires ready for Thursday. I asked him you could have told me to come on Thursday ans it would have saved me a trip since I live west end of the city. The sales rep, told me that they had to see me in person to take my order. I told him, I could have given you my info and credit card number, then he said It's just the way we do things here. I just told him to forget it and left. I called the Brampton location and was told that I could have ordered by phone and they would just call me when the tires arrive. I find that the Sales rep at the Mississauga location are very unprofessional and immature. I would not recommend this place read more
