Working near the "International marketplace" means most of clients are from other countries with exquisite cuisine. I had a hankering for Jollof rice and this did not fill the void. wow!! First of all, they got my food wrong. I ordered Egusi with beef and I received mystery meat that I can't identify. I ordered 2 fried goat and I got none. Next, the Egusi was unpalatable, never tasted anything like this. the color was not what we Nigerians are used to. The moi moi, you could tell was not fully cooked and was definitely powdered bean flour. You guys need to be ashamed of selling under par food. What an interesting food experience! I have a friend from Nigeria who eats here once a week. He cane with me and my ethnic dinner club to help us navigate the menu. For appetizers we had the suya and nkwobi. The suya was AMAZING!!! Some of the tastiest meat I've had. You have to try it! It's their version of BBQ'd meat. The nkwobi had a very rubbery texture and I was not a fan. It's the skin of a cow leg. This is a dish for adventurous eaters. Most of the meat here is smoked. It is not what most Americans are used to. It is very tough and dry. The rice dishes are served with this type of meat. The Jollof rice was my favorite. Very flavorful and good. The location is a little oddly placed. The inside is dimly and some may think the music is loud. Not sure why I got a plastic bottle of water when I asked for water. I'm sure it's a better fiscal decision to just serve it in a glass and obviously better for the environment. I ordered the goat steak (Asun) and plantains under the assorted meat section of the menu. Not sure how in the world they get goat in Indianapolis but wow they make it super well. One of the employees warned me that it was spicy and although it was, it's not the kind of spicy you get in American food that hurts and hits you all at once. This was a nice slow burn with flavor. The meat was nice and tender and paired well with soft and sweet plantains. My only issue is sometimes I would get gristle and/or meat that would not get off the bone without excessive force. The same employee was telling me that they have a huge block party sort of thing on Sunday with a ton of people? Not sure on all the details but it seems fun. Passing through Indianapolis and Google searched "jollof rice near me". This establishment popped up. I was impressed with the professionalism, decor, and customer service provided. The food was delicious and well priced! Jollof rice was on point. Fried yam was as it ought to be , moi moi and plantain were all consumed in record time. I came here with my husband and friends when we arrived the place seemed to be disorganized. After standing there for a while we found ourselves a place to sit. The table was dirty and wobbling......we asked a waiter if the table could be can..... she said with an attitude "You guys already sat down and I'm not doing any extra work". We told another lady in the restaurant and she said that she would talk to the waiter and have our table cleaned. The service was extremely slow we got there around 9:30. Our food came out separately two of us ordered the fish and that was the last thing to come out around 12. They didn't even put the fish on a plate they pack them to go. Absolutely love the Amala dish as it satisfies my occassional cravings for Nigerian 'swallow' dishes. The Amala is fluffy and well made. However, quality control could be better on the stew. It tasted different the 2nd time I ordered it. Would be nice to have a consistent recipe. I did not like the jollof rice. Did not seem like restaurant quality as I could cook it better at home. It lacked depth of flavor.So that was disappointing. Another let down is how they often times don't have a lot of the items on the menu(e.g meatpie) They shouldn't be on the menu if they're never available. I suggest maybe have days for those items if the demand is low and let customers know e.g Meatpie Monday or just take it out of the menu altogether. I went a while back during the month of December, and none were wearing masks despite the city requirement and having a sign saying masks were required for entry. To make matters worse, their " fried plantain " was literally heated up in their microwave (I could see it being " cooked "). The plantain may have been hot but it was tasteless, stale, and hard. I have order 4x from here. The first time was amazing! I ordered the pounded yam and egusi, asun, jollof and chicken wings. The second time I ordered pounded yam & egusi and jollof again which tasted horrible and the meat was tough! The rest was fine, the suya, ofada, and plantain. The third and fourth time ordering was horrible. Again I tried the egusi and was disappointed. The plantains tasted hard and tough as if cooked in a microwave, the jollof tasted like a Spanish rice uncle bens packet, and the ofada had only bones and tasted terrible. This was our final and last time ordering smh. If you try this place make sure to check your food because you'll also be missing side orders but still charged smh. read more

I purchased the BBQ Chicken dinner ($34.00) on a Wednesday and the result was inedible - the skin was rubbery; the meat was old and dry; chicken leg quarter looked like a thin rabbit leg. It is my understanding the chickens are grilled on Sunday and then sold throughout the week. The meat is not the highest quality, either.
