Meanwhile, for her prior 6-month cleaning, they charged $250, which was already way higher than any other dentist we've encountered. However, the reason I'm leaving this review isn't because of the price gouging, but because we discovered that they charged our friends only $169 for their similarly aged child's cleaning. And when I called their office pretending to be a different patient, the receptionist also quoted $169 for all the same services we paid $400. Worst of all, when I contacted their office requesting a refund, they came back with a patronizing response claiming they charged us extra because they had to use a special tool (a scaler) which is the standard tool every dentist we've ever witnessed has used to clean plaque during cleanings. We're obviously not returning to Main St Pediatric after their discriminatory pricing practices, but I also wonder how many other out-of-pocket patients they've decided to charge 2-3x their standard rates.

I like the fact that I can sign forms digitally and well ahead of time before the appointment as having a 1 year old sit still for x amount of time is impossible. They were mindful about that and I really appreciate it. After the visit was done, we even celebrated and my lil one received a balloon like it's a party! I loved that everything was personalized and well-thought out. From the office decor- the lego business card holders, the hungry caterpillar themed room that we were in and the toys for him to play and the board with his name on it. It was so sweet! My child had developed eight cavities and two that needed either root canals or extraction. We found Dr. Nerad after I called Kaiser to get a list of recommended dentists for general anesthesia. When Dr. Nerad took x-rays and examined my child's mouth he was both gentle and firm - which I appreciated since other dentists had just gotten frustrated or given up when she started getting worked up and resisting. Dr. Nerad talked me through the options for oral surgery and we felt confident that he would make decisions that were in the best interest for my child's oral health. He even stayed late one day when I called the office a week before our scheduled surgery when my child was screaming in pain. He calmed her down and checked to make sure everything was okay - which it was! I'm not sure what the other reviews are a saying about the cost. Our bill ended up being less that we were quoted. And the best part is that my child gets a healthy mouth and a fresh start! She even feels much more calm about going to the dentist. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I originally requested a specific appointment day, but they were fully booked, so I asked to be added to the cancellation list. I didn't expect much, but they actually followed through and called me when something opened up -- that small act alone made me feel like they truly care about their patients. As someone who works Monday through Friday, their schedule is a huge plus. They open as early as 7:30 AM, they're even open during my lunch hour at 12 PM, and they offer one Saturday each month, which makes getting care so much easier and less stressful. I have pretty significant dental anxiety, so going to the dentist is never easy for me. From the moment I walked in, though, I felt understood instead of judged. The first visit focused on X-rays and high-tech photos, and everything felt very thorough and thoughtful -- like they genuinely care about the health of your teeth rather than just rushing you through. My hygienist, Angela, was incredibly kind and personable and made me feel comfortable almost immediately. Dr. Shaghasi also took the time to talk with me and reassure me that my fears were completely valid. That meant more to me than I can explain.
