So we've eaten here 3x, and all 3x the food and the service have been good to excellent. The food has been top notch each time. The sushi made fresh and the ramen have been high quality, rivaling many of the Japanese restaurants I have been to. The service has always been good as well, though on occasion the servers disappear. Now this review is based on being in Montana. There is not the same selection amount as you would see in Portland or Seattle. Quality wise though, they match up very well. I can honestly tell you I was so pleasantly surprised the broth for the Ramen could've have been better, I enjoyed the broth up by itself. The Ramen was nice all the toppings made it better. For ramen in Montana, especially in a smaller city like Kalispell and not a bigger city like Missoula, I was pretty delightfully surprised! I definitely did not come here with superbly high expectations but the food was pretty solid. I came in with a large party of 6 and the servers were quick to take our orders and it did not take very long for the food to come out either. We did come in on a weekday afternoon so perhaps it was more quiet. There was ample seating as well. I got the pork chasu don and I liked that the rice was a little on the more moist/wet side. The pork was chopped into cubes and there was a perfect mix of fatty and lean meat. The sauce on it was also a very yummy savory sweet soy sauce concoction. There were some pickled radish? and also some bok choy. I wished there were more veggies but I can't complain too much as it was still very yummy. I tasted my friend's ramen and the broth was subtle but still very savory and hearty. Noodles were nice and chewy. It reminded me of elevated ramen packets I have eaten as a child (in a good way). Did not have high expectations coming to a Ramen restaurant in Montana but was pleasantly surprised. Note that most of the negative reviews for this restaurant are related to the slow service. I did not have a negative experience with the service so am basing this purely on the ramen itself which was pretty decent. Would I come here if I was in a larger city that had multiple options? Probably not. Would I come back if I was in the area for a week and wanted ramen twice? Yes. The ramen broth is creamy and tasty. Not as hearty as some of those places where it feels like the broth has been boiling for 24 hours, but savory enough that your taste buds will appreciate it. The toppings aren't bad and the chashu is balanced in flavor (albeit a bit overcooked and just a bit too tough). There are ample noodles so you don't really need kaidama / extra noodles and I'd recommend holding off on ordering upfront to see if you still need more after finishing your bowl. I ordered a side of seaweed salad and half of it was frozen but that didn't surprise me. Overall a fine meal, would come back if I was in the Flathead area. And...it was pretty darn good! $15 Tonkatsu Ramen...pork broth ramen is my favorite! This broth didn't have the thick, creamy richness of the best tonkatsu ramens I've had, but this was satisfying enough. The marinated egg and pork slices were tasty and generously portioned. The noodles were a nice al dente texture. $5 Seaweed Salad...just as good as any seaweed salad, but but the portion was huge! About 3-4 times larger than what I normally expect in California. Not the best ramen, and maybe a bit pricy, but still satisfying nonetheless during a chilly Winter day. Friendly service all around. read more

The food is affordable and decent sized portions. The service has always been wonderful, the people working are very pleasant. The ambiance is casual and relaxing. I eat here once a week. But no name, personality and while he was friendly, he seemed very overwhelmed. I was completely surprised by the food....I'm a snob and wasn't expecting the best Japanese food in Kalispell. But the hamachi jalapeño and tantanman ramen were outstanding. I would come here again for those two dishes and the broth really was similar to what I've had in Japan. If I could give one tip: please learn how to carry and serve the ramen. Seeing multiple servers putting them thumb on the rim of the bowl and sometimes INTO the bowl gave me the heebie jeebies. We love this place!! They are Open on Sundays which is perfect place for after church. We always get a bowl of Garlic Tonkatsu and a sushi roll or two but always the salmon lover roll. I think they have some of the best sushi imo it always tastes so fresh. The staff is super kind and always quick to bring out food. Unfortunately this Ramen place fails on many fronts: 1:Ambiance rather utilitarian no Asian vibe at all 2: Service most servers are high school kids and are poorly trained. They still have their fingers in your ramen when they place the food (not a new complaint). 3: drink. Soft drinks only " still waiting for a liquor license" no Japanese beer (previous reviewer was told the same thing almost a year ago. 4: food; 2 of 5 in taste. The ramen was great. I always get the same thing at a new ramen spot to test it out. Spicy miso ramen. The broth is the most key factor to get right, and this was the 2nd best broth I've had. Rich, flavorful without being salty. The toppings were great, but it was weird it didn't come with a pickled egg, so I added it. I can tell you, add the egg. It's great with that miso broth. I was really excited to finally have a ramen place in town. Unfortunately we got takeout from here and my husband bit into an actual metal staple. The restaurant made me go back in person so I could get a refund and I had to fight them to refund me for the entire meal instead of just the one dish. They didn't call me to apologize or see how they could fix the problem just gave me a 3-hour window in which I could come and get my refund. When I did finally go into get my refund they didn't seem to care that this happened, the manager wouldn't even make look at me or make eye contact. I even asked him to have his boss call me to better reconcile the situation before I wrote this post, but they didn't care to reach out.
