Doctor Kaw promised me that I would retain my close up vision (very important to…read moreme) after my cataract surgery and then she implanted a distance only IOL and now not only can I not see close up or mid range but I have imperfect distance vision too. When I wasn't jumping up and down and kissing her feet with joy and instead wanted to know why she did the opposite of what I wanted she physically turned her back on me. She refused to continue my treatment (and I was only four days post op). She left me with uneven sight, no referral, no medical records...nothing. I'm having to start over with another doctor. I will never be the same physically or emotionally. Now she says the outcome was as "intended" and is "optimal" which is ridiculous considering she did the exact opposite of what I wanted. She also says I should call for an appointment, as if I would ever go back there again after she kicked me out because her fragile ego was wounded after I told her I was unhappy with the results! Avoid this medical office at all costs!!! Edit: After more than a month I finally got my medical records and her doctor's notes are all lies and leave out her tantrums and the odd things she said to me like "why reach for high Mercedes when you can't even ride a Toyota" when I asked about Toric lenses. She will deny it but I can prove it.

There's not a lot of communication. My main concern was with the receptionist at the check in/out desk who was quite rude. I don't think a person with this kind of attitude should be in the position of greeting or interacting with patients. Generally the care I've received with this practice has been good. It was denied by my insurance company because they didn't send in the photos. I called the office and they kept transferring me to the person that takes photos so I could schedule photos but I already had photos done because they weren't listening to what I was saying. I finally got to the right person and they said they did send the photos so I asked them to just please send them again because they don't have them. Apparently they sent everything in as a new claim and it was denied because I already had an open claim. They also only submitted the claim for only one eye!! I ended up going somewhere else and was successful. Fast-forward to now, I went there for a certain issue. When I made the appointment I explained what was going on and got the appointment within two weeks. So I went there and they started doing their usual checking my vision, dilation, and when it comes to the actual eye test I was having a lot of trouble because I was there because I was having an issue whether I was wearing glasses or not. The technician got annoyed with me and kept saying I was being inconsistent and that she couldn't finish this exam because I was just being too inconsistent and I finally said well I'm not here for this anyway. I'm here because I'm having an actual issue. Apparently nobody told them why I was there. They thought I was there for a check up and some glasses. After almost 3 hours I finally got to see the doctor who started talking about glasses. Again I told him I am not there for glasses and told him what I was there for. He got a little flustered started throwing his arms up in the air he's like I just don't know and said a few other things and just left. Huh? He did order a test for my optic nerve which looked fine. He rescheduled me for two appointments. So I went in today for the first one and you know what it was for? Glasses! I asked even before I paid the co-pay what I was there for just to be safe and that's what I was told. They said sometimes prescriptions can change. And I said well it happens when I'm not wearing my glasses too so I'm gonna bet and say it's not the glasses. They still tried to get me to get the exam for new glasses! They do not listen to their patients. At all.

One doctor (Ebbing) says I need laser surgery to improve extremely blurry…read morevision in one eye several months after cataract surgery and then, when I make an appointment for the procedure, after collecting my co-pay and billing my insurance company, a different doctor (Zonderman) lspends about 3 minutes looking in my eye and says he doesn't see any need for the laser surgery.... and I apparently have wasted my money , and the insurance money, and 74 minutes of my time. Then, as he's quickly ending the visit, when I express a little confusion by this discrepancy, Dr. Zonderman is not at all interested in what Dr.Ebbing said 2 days before and kept repeating variations of "I'm the one standing in front of you." He spent the next few minutes in loud histrionics, began to walk toward the surgical room and then ultimately refused to do the surgery, even if I insisted on it, and stormed out of the area angrily. His behavior in dealing with, or even acknowledging, another Doctor's opinion was extremely unprofessional and his antics were incredibly silly. I would have expected more maturity in a middle aged man. I can only think this antic is reserved for older people (I'm almost 78). I have dealt with many doctors in many specialties and have never even heard of this game being played on anyone else. It's difficult to believe they really needed more money from me 2 days after my previous visit, since everyone always waits at least an hour to be seen, but I can see no other reason for scam.

I was waiting for him for another hour in a waiting room. When I asked why I was waiting for so long, his medical assistant told me that Dr. Zonderman didn't come yet (they didn't even noticed me that he's left). On my question what will happen if he doesn't come back, I was told that I'll be rescheduled for the next day. Eventually I was seen by another doctor. But finally I spent 3 hours and 20 minutes in the doctor's office.
