Stopped in for breakfast one day and it was so good I came back again the next. Easy access off I-90 and plenty of parking too. Was seated immediately and greeted upon entrance. First day I had the corned beef hash and it was awesome, included toast and I chose rye which is always a nice option. Day 2 was the Wet Bonner Burrito which they have a dry version as well. It is huge and very good. Just enough spices and Chalula and all condiments already on the table with bottles clean and full. This is a reasonably priced restaurant with generous portions. I will be back when in the area and highly recommend this nice and friendly spot. Bonus is that it shares a parking lot with one of the best truck store in Montana with a full store and competitive gas prices. read more

My meal of Shepherd's pie was hearty warm and satisfying. My server, Oracle was a delight. I love the river themed decor and the cleanliness of this place. It's really homey and welcoming place. I hope I don't have to wait so long to return next time. Oh! I almost forgot- if you're a fan of homemade pie then you are in for a real treat. Get the Strawberry-Rhubarb pie a-la-mode. I went here as a guest with a local who says she eats here all the time. She said the service is always great and the food is always good. It wasn't any different today. She also warned me that the servings are very large and splitting is the way to go. So she got a side of 3 scrambled eggs with salsa and then we both enjoyed my tots and toast. Even with sharing there were leftovers. This means great value for my money! I really liked the flavor of everything and appreciated that they got the tots extra crispy as requested. Stopped here traveling through Montana. Excellent food, and very large portions. The cinnamon roll will easily feed four people. Everything was fresh. It's definitely a diner cafe but it has some very cool old pictures. Service was very friendly and good. Definitely would stop again. Wow, that corned beef was probably some of the best I've ever had. There's not a lot of places around the Missoula area that I consider good or even rave about but they are doing things right here. Huge portions, I had to stop myself from eating all of it so I could have the rest for breakfast tomorrow morning. The blueberry muffin that came with it was also delicious! We're staying in Missoula overnight and if you ever find yourself in Missoula looking for great sandwiches, good variety, huge portions and amazing service, get the heck out of town and drive down to Bonner! Comfort diner food in a convenient location with great portions, good value, and friendly service. It's a pretty massive intersection, and the gas station is huge and busy. This is right next door and a pleasant break for the weary traveler. I got the River Scramble (breakfast served until 2 pm), which is a great skillet breakfast. She clearly had several tables and could have used some help but little to none was coming from the hostess. One waitress did very little in general the entire time we were there. 4 1/2 out of 5. The Matador was as good or better than the last time we ate it. The tomato soup is chunky goodness at it's best. If you are traveling Highway 90 stop at the River City Grill at Bonner. The food is home made delicious. The building is historic with photos of the area. The staff are warm and friendly. I highly recommend the banana bread French toast, and ham, egg and biscuit breakfast. If you are here later in the day the desserts are made in house. You have to experience the German Chocolate Cake shared with a friend. read more

So glad we decided to stop here for an early lunch. We were traveling south for the Winter and we'd skipped Breakfast. Can't say enough good things about this Cute spot. The Customer Service was excellent and so was the food. Prime Rib French Dip and Reuben Sandwich we're huge. We are half and took the rest to go. Holy buckets of yummm! I have been in Missoula for 5 years and have never heard about this place. Boy, was I missing out on the good stuff. This is the place to go for what I like to call some good ol' home cooking. First off, it isn't located in Missoula so maybe that's why I haven't heard about it. It is just a short 10 minute drive to the Bonner exit. My friends, do not let this location fool you. I promise awesome food waits behind those doors. Service was super friendly. Not just our server BUT every server. The place was packed for a Friday night. We are talking like groups of people not just tables of 2 or 4 here. We are talking groups and large families and even a party. This is what I would call a hole in the wall (except it's out in the open haha) and literally everything on the menu is going to knock your socks off. Seriously go try it. read more

I found this place here on Yelp because I want to try a new restaurant close to the Rattle Snake road. We met with friends and we have the total of four kids. We were seated in the back of the restaurant and the table was half booth, half chairs what works great for a large group. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side of a biscuit. My husband ordered the bacon burger which he was not very satisfied since the meat was not from a fresh gourmet beef but a pre-made patty. My dish was very good and I like the amount of sausage gravy I got. My biscuit also came with gravy which is a plus :). Daughter and I got breakfast a few Saturday mornings ago.enjoyed what we got.she couldn't finish hers.i was Happy to and have mine as well.the building reminded me of a old train station that was converted into a restaurant leaving old artifacts inside for decor.the only thing missing between that place and your place.the other place used to have a Wurlitzer jukebox and the other business closed down and became a different restaurant altogether with a Starbucks next to it.glad your place is still around.we will be back. read more

What a delightful, hidden gem, tucked in between trucker stops and gas stations just east of Missoula in little Bonner, MT. A very warm welcome greeted us as soon as we entered the charmingly decorated little restaurant. There is obviously a good deal of history there, and that in of itself is enjoyable. We had breakfast that included chicken and waffles, chicken fried steak and the wild rice omelet. Everything was absolutely delicious, and very hearty portions! The servers were lovely and everything was fast enough, but not too fast as to rush you. Thoroughly recommend River City of if you're heading in or out of Missoula. read more
