WE LOVED IT HERE! They are old cottages that have been 'lovingly' renovated with modern fixtures. VERY clean with everything you want in a room: coffee maker, fridge, microwave. The first Monday of the month is a tsunami siren test (ask me how we found out). It's reasonable, close to Long Beach with it's various stores and restaurants and RIGHT NEXT DOOR to the Seaview Biscuit Company! I have a separate review for that, and YES, you have to try it! The Seaview Cottages is a popular place and because of that, we had two different rooms during our three day stay. One night with double queen beds, and two nights with a king bed. So make your reservations early! If we are ever in this area again, THIS is the place where we want to stay! It made me one GLAAAD SISTER! :D

The bathroom was a bit cramped but the overall decor and set up was really cute & had everything we needed. Surprisingly, there was a dishwasher, oven, crockpot, toaster, microwave and refrigerator. We would definitely rent again. A frustration was that the front door wasn't aligned making the door really difficult to lock from the outside. I saw this mentioned on other reviews. They really should repair it. We did have an issue with the dishwasher also. It wouldn't quit chiming after we opened it during the cycle. We turned off the breaker to try & reset it but it never happened. It would have been nice to have some instructions. Other than the that, it was a nice stay.

Oh bring a lock... no extra locking mechanism except for the typical hotel lock. 3 star due to the lack customer service. The front desk attendant displayed a noticeably standoffish attitude. Each time we approached her with a request, she responded as though we were inconveniencing her and often came across as condescending. She was unable to assist with our television issue, and when I asked about bottled water, she insisted that it was replenished daily. After repeatedly explaining that none had been provided, she finally, and rather begrudgingly, told me to take two bottles from the office.

I found their website reservation service worked just fine. Trying to contact them otherwise (by…read morephone or email, not so much...they didn't respond). I rented a condo thru their website. Several weeks after I had committed and a deposit was charged to my credit card, they sent me an email saying I had to sign an additional agreement required by the condo's homeowners association. This was not disclosed at the time of reservation. The agreement was written by some pinhead lawyer, so it was barely understandable to a lay person, but it involved waiving some legal rights that (apparently) otherwise would exist. Not a very friendly business practice. Since I was concerned that other desirable options I had originally identified would no longer be available (this was a weekend stay) I signed the damn thing. Disclosure-This was the first condo I have ever rented, so I have nothing to compare these procedures to. Condo was pristine, great view and reasonably priced (if you stay long enough to amortize the cleaning fee over, although they required the place be left pristine at the risk of any additional cleaning fee determined at their discretion). I think in the future I will stay in a hotel or motel where cleaning is part of the base fee you pay and they expect to clean up after you and no lawyers are involved.
