There was major construction work being done next door but this was explained to us when we made the reservation and work stopped early enough in the afternoon to be an issue. Our room was spacious and quiet with antiques and a beautiful 4 poster bed. There were trees outside of our large windows and jazz playing on the radio. Although we knew that there was only one bathroom to be shared on our floor when we made our reservations, there was no problem with availability and we had a sink in our room. The shower was antique so water pressure was as strong as expected for fixtures that old. The only issue we had was the smell and scratchiness of the towels and wash cloths. It was almost as if they hadn't been washed between guests. The soaps seemed old and were pretty used up.

The rooms are small, there's no denying that. And community bathrooms may not be for everybody. But it was like being back in a college dorm without all the craziness (and with your own bedroom). Took 1.5 hours from the time I scheduled my pickup to drop off, for a typically 45 min drive, but I was only in the car for about 45 min (ie the first 45 min the shuttle was picking other people up before me and I could see that in the comfort of my hotel). I've used supershuttle twice in recent years to go to ny area airports and both times have been seamless. Perfect for when you are not in a rush. Update: tried this service again and it took 2 hours to get to the airport with many delays. Pickup was about 40 min late so I'm reducing this to 3 stars. So definitely for when you are in no rush at all.

We didn't stay at the location listed here, but at another location along the 120th Street. Email correspondence is the best way to reserve a room or have issues with the rooms. The owner, Georgia, was very responsive via email. She was also really nice and friendly to talk to in person, especially when giving advice on what areas/attractions to visit. Georgia decorated all of the rooms with her artistic talents. Each room has a different theme, and they either have a shared bathroom or a private bathroom. The price of the room came with daily housekeeping, wifi access, and breakfast. The breakfast was amazing since you received a variety of delicious pastries, breads, cereals, coffee, and tea. In addition, you could use a communal computer. I would definitely stay here again! Plus, the location of the B&Bs are not far from the 116th subway lines.

The hotel, in general, is in a great location with easy access to food and the train, and you can find something late at night to eat for some reading. During my last few stays, I arrived late at night. I did stay in a room that has been upgraded, and I like the changes. Especially in the bathroom, but the smoke smelled on and off throughout the halls. Entry into the lobby area was sometimes too much, and just easy access to walk into the hotel for guests and nonguests. The late-night staff is always welcoming and helpful during my visits.
