She stocks everything for the stay from TP to drinks to goodies, breads, sweets,fruit , left in the microwave, on dishes, including anything and everything you would need to have a wonderful stay. That's where the good ends. The bathroom isn't great, there isn't a light over the shower so it's quite dark in there, plus it wasn't draining well so our showers were turning into baths. Room was pretty nice overall. We signed up for SUP, and it was my girlfriend's first time ever doing it. We expected someone from the resort to be there to show us the ropes and give us some information...there was absolutely nobody. We went searching for people, and the maintenance people didn't really say much of anything. We went into the Kahaluu bay area and I fell off my SUP once and ended up scratching up my leg and foot pretty bad...would have been nice to know the bay was only a few feet deep in some parts, with rocks on the seafloor to avoid. We also signed up for their big Saturday "Paradise Bay Experience Package" out to the reef to snorkel and to the sandbar to walk around. We signed up for a 10 am departure time. They called at 9:50 am to double check we were still going on the experience and I confirmed yes to checking out and yes to the experience. We went upstairs to checkout a few minutes later, and it took us a few minutes to do so because they said they wouldn't trust us to not return our towels and car parking pass after the experience, so we had to grab them RIGHT THEN. Okay fine, we bring those to them and notice from the front desk the boat for the experience literally leaving the dock at 9:58 am...WHY?!? I ask them and they say it was our fault, and we were supposed to be there at the boat 5 minutes early...NOBODY TOLD US THAT! Not when we signed up for the experience, and not in the follow-up email we received about it, which I'll attach below. So then they rush to call the boat captain to say to come back to the dock. You JUST called me 10 minutes prior and I said we were going on the experience, did you not communicate that with the boat staff? Clearly not. We end up jumping on the boat at 9:59 am after it had returned, so after all that hassle we were a minute early. No sorry from anyone, not even any acknowledgement from the boat staff. Long story short, this could easily be a 5-star hotel and experience if the hotel had a completely different staff, filled with people with more compassion, customers service skills, and a greater care for hospitality.

The small unit has a queen or king size bed, a mini kitchen, no oven, microwave etc. It has a full size bathroom, and it accessible. I would say the small unit is for two people, ike a couple or a small family with one child. I would 100% come again! You should definitely stay here!

Checking for availability was a simple e-mail inquiry, though I could have called as well. Response was prompt and concise. Reserved room through e-mail and called to give them the credit card info. There are two units, both sectioned off from the house with private bathrooms, one with more space and a kitchen. We chose the smaller unit which was cheaper, only $75 a night for the end of January. The place is two blocks from the beach and there are two beach access points nearby. I was nervous, given the low price and my unfamiliarity with Kailua. All my fears were gone the minute I saw the place. A large bed, a private bathroom, a mini-fridge, microwave and toaster oven. Even a television with cable and room for our stuff. While not top of the line, the room was everything I expected. Barbara and her husband were gracious hosts. We had immediate answers to any questions and a nice patio with a pool at our disposal. Bottom line: if you want a nice, simple starting point for your daily excursions, check into Auntie Barbara's now. For the price and amenities offered it can't be beat. It missed four stars for only one reason: parking. The house is set back from the road down a narrow driveway flanked by a concrete wall and a fence. Parking next to the house and getting back out is a nightmare. Thankfully we were able to utilize street parking and walked down the driveway to our unit after the first day.

Hogan answered my emails & basically gave excuses why the washer was / dryer is occupied - no time or when the washer & dryer will be emptied. I find this 100% bad customer service No one is on property - i don't like being ignored - just words up - keeping Yelp customers informed - Big Complaint Mrs C disliking Payapa Paradise - and - unhappy - I still need to wash/dry only one load.

The unit was mostly clean , the kitchen well equipped , loved that there was a good coffee maker and rice cooker. We felt safe in the area. The little Waikiki market next door was convenient but is very busy and a meeting place for homeless and others hanging out. They were very responsive to our needs and quickly responded to fix a couple issues. communication was excellent. the beds were comfortable but the other furniture was not. a wicker settee with a thin, worn and well used seatpad was the only seating except for two plastic molded chairs. we found the area noisy , busy ,a route for fire trucks, police and emergency vehicles . however it is very close to restaurants and all the life Waikiki has to offer if that is what you are looking for. the condo and area would not be our choice again but thats just because of what we enjoy and would want next time not because there was any problem with Ali'i Rentals. We would like to look at their other properties and have no hesitation renting from this company again.

It's a holiday weekend and they demanded a response the same day. We replied the following morning but were told they already cancelled our reservation. Wouldn't we just book again at their new price that's $1,500 more? Talking to them to try and resolve, it was clear they just wanted more money. There was no urgent issue, they never called, they just decided they could get more money than our reservation. So be warned if you reserve with them... they may leave you hanging. EDIT: The owner left a response citing verification processes. We completed everything asked for on booking and NEVER received any communications on August 28 or 29. I have the message receipts and can gladly share. Our only message was Aug. 30 and we responded within a day, despite the holiday weekend! The property was still available. They just wanted to jack the price over $1k.

To me these cottages are great…read more I'm in 1610. It looks like it's been renovated since most of the Yelp Reviews. It's a 2 bedroom 1 bath with a sitting area and a dining table. It's advertised as a full kitchen but be prepared you get a single pan, toaster, random cookware, and a grill. If you read the occupancy its mentions 6 or maybe 7 can stay here? I have no idea how that would be possible as I am here with my wife, daughter, and mother in law and daughter is sleeping on the couch. All this aside it's still decent for the price. I am giving 2 stars mainly for the housekeeping people. They come at random times and maybe not at all? I have taken my own trash out several days because ants are common in Hawaii. I was stationed here and gave my family the info on that. The main issue is we have had 4 towels for our stay and these housekeepers have not changed them for a days. We even left them on the floor in a bundle in an attempt to make it more obvious they need changing and they still disregarded providing fresh towels. They have also provided 2 rolls of toilet paper for a 14 day stay. I expect things to not be provided by virtue of spending a career with Marines so we preemptively bought toilet paper at 9 pm on the way back from day adventures and thankfully we did or we would be out of luck because housekeepers didn't check that. We also have not had our sheets changed once in over a week of staying here. We were able to book the 7 days for myself (active duty) and my wife got her 7 day stay (also active duty). When the housekeeper crew shows up while we are here and knock on the door, I politely answer with "hey good morning come on in" And the lady looks at me like I'm some Kind of jerk off. Gives me a sense that she expects me to hand her the trash rather than coming in and getting it (like she would do if I weren't in the unit anyway). I think these units being further from the base gives the cleaning crew a "out of sight, out of mind" feeling? Or possibly that the price point on the unit becomes a "well you get what you pay for" type service. I have no idea. I'm looking forward to speaking with the front desk when it opens in the AM. Maybe it will be resolved.
