BED BUGS!!!! Do I need to say anything else? We stayed one night on a cabin without bathroom, I think it was #2. It was not super dirty, otherwise we wouldn't have stayed. Next morning we woke up and hit the road towards Denver. A few hours later the bites started to show. Long story short, we went to the doctor and gave us a cream to mitigate the itchiness. That was 4 days ago and the itching still on. I've contacted KOA corporate to inform them of what happened, but they washed their hands saying it's independently operated. Please, do yourself a favor, never sleep at this place

Buddy site. You share this with your neighbor.

Keep driving! It's not worth the $50 plus nightly fee. EXTREMELY SMALL SITES not to mention they are almost all buddy sites, which was not mentioned on the website, nor when I called in to make the reservation. There's about an 8 foot wide by 40 feet long that you share with your neighbor. Who wants privacy anyway right?? We literally had neighbors either at our front door or under our bedroom slide! Unbelievable. The "premium" sites are very small but do have a private green space (which is normal for sites at other RV parks), but they are more expensive and only a small number of sites. The electric hookup was not properly working and the maintenance man said it wasn't the box, instead it was our surge protector. After checking our surge protector on three other boxes he finally agreed that it might be their box. He even mentioned that a few other sites had RVs completely burn down because of their boxes, but he was pretty sure ours was ok enough to use for our stay. We sat in our truck for 3 hours while trying to get another site but they were completely booked. All surrounding RV parks were full. Finally Brad, a worker at the KOA, on his off day, offered another site in their long term area, since the person was gone for a few weeks. He was the only person there that was willing to find a solution for us! We were very thankful for Brad's help but won't stay there again. Sites are dumpy and fire pits and tables are old and broken. RVs are packed in like sardines. Pool was also closed for Covid. It's very sad because it could be a nice place. Lots of trees and grass.

Friendliest KOA staff ever! We stayed for 7 nights and had a great time. Not a fan of buddy sites but we met some really nice campers.

Clean and straightforward. I really enjoyed the front desk staff. My kids loved the playground. What more could you want?

Hands down a great first experience and would absolutely return again and become members. They have weekly activities as well, so I suggest you check the website first.

Our 3rd nudist resort stop was at Prairie Haven, in Scranton, KS (about an hour outside of Kansas…read moreCity). It was remotely located down a gravel road, and had a beautiful welcoming front entrance. The whole grounds had lovely old trees which gave it a beautiful natural feel. We chose to stay in a small bathroom-less "cabin" rather than tent since it was going to just be a quick overnight stay (and forecasted to rain in the a.m.). As with the last two places, this was an AANR nudist resort, not clothing optional. It was perfect weather so we took a dip in the in-ground pool and met some lovely members. The hot tub was hopping & we listened to stories & shared ours. Only one couple had been to any FL resorts or any other nudist resorts. It is in a pretty remote area. They had a second above-ground "activity"pool reserved for lap swimming, aerobics, and pool volleyball. Both pools had newer deck areas around them & the sunning deck had new colorful chairs & umbrellas. The rest of the facilities were quite a bit older (probably original from the 70's) & starting to look & feel a little sad and in need of some structural & esthetic updates. Same with our "cabin" - it was a small structure divided into two bedrooms by a flimsy, thin wall. That's all we're gonna to say about that. The small, stuffy clubhouse has a fully stocked community kitchen. It doesn't look like it's used for anything more than that. But it was clean & functional & appreciated. There was also a large covered pavilion with an outdoor kitchen area. Their old sand volleyball court was turned into a pickleball court, which was next to a remote-controlled car dirt track. Seems to be a thing in the mid-west. Wish we could be there for one of those events. There is a huge, very flat open field which they said they use for fireworks displays, Molke, and golf cart races! We strolled up on their weekly game of Molke & were quickly invited to play. We love this about nudist places - everyone is always welcoming & inclusive. This club only allows a limited amount of male or female single visitors or members (10% of their membership) so keep that in mind. And after 3 visits, you have to become a member. It is a co-op where everyone is expected to pitch in to maintain the facilities & grounds to some degree. If you visit, look for the many adorable (mostly nude) gnomes sprinkled throughout the common areas. It was almost like a scavenger hunt to find them all. It lent itself to the rustic whimsy of the place!

Clinton State Park is formidable. It's like Thanos, if Thanos was water and dirt. It's massive,…read morefilled with trees, and it is murky. The only time I've ever been stopped by water patrol while in my tiny boat has been on this lake. I saw him dartin' straight for me amongst a hoard of rich people in their fancy little shiny boats. Men drunk as the cow on Tuesday blaring there speaker systems that cost more than my boat, and this joker brought his $80,000 police boat right to my little inflatable tube. He checked me over, they were nice enough. I guess people do die on this lake if you're not responsibly careful enough. It's not a place to play around if you're not prepared for the worst. There are so many great secluded shelters strewn about this place, and the Clinton Park of it does require a $5 per day access fee I believe go check local updates. Per car mind you; and less in fact you paid for the state stamp with your yearly registration on your vehicle which I do. It's a good deal for $15 a year. The fishing however if you're a true fisherman is spectacular. Clinton has some of the best fishing in the country. It's not for the faint of heart however, and the surface is vast. I once drove across this lake on a boat going about 4 mph for half a day and didn't make it halfway across it. They have great sections where the bass fishing is amazing during certain periods of the year. It's a great place, and if you don't want to get out on the water you can go to the spillway which a lot of people do for fishing. Be safe.

Clinton Lake is a fantastic visit for those wanting to learn more about our state parks. What I…read morereally enjoyed about Clinton lake were the friendly people, the affordable stay, and the great clean environment. We took our vacation here and stared up at the sky with a telescope, went fishing, enjoyed the trails. All of these are available and easy to access. We went in an RV (a 24') and had an easy time getting service and having fun. Bathrooms are clean, showers are well maintained and have incredible, and I mean absolutely incredible water pressure. There are a few pieces of advice I would give before you attend. The trails are fantastic, but if you plan on going now you had better plan on taking with you PLENTY and I mean PLENTY of bug repellent. The trails are full of ticks and chiggers, and you will find your ankles and body well covered if you have not taken the right precautions. Don't walk trails where you aren't covered, and don't do things that will put you at risk.

We thought we were good to go. We drive the 302 miles to the campground and when my husband gets there, the person who was checking him in says we don't have your reservation and we have no more sites. What? The employee remembers talking with my husband, but didn't complete the reservation in their computer. WTH? Hubby is ready to blow a gasket, informs the guy that he has a wife who loves to review places on line. And the guy tells my husband to not be belligerent and he'll figure out something. Wait, you just said there are no sites available. Now, magically, there is a site? True, when my hubby didn't receive a confirmation email or text, he should have taken a minute to call the campground again. Yes, that's on him. But we have been traveling from Michigan to Arizona and now halfway home and haven't had a problem until now. My personal opinion is that the employee took one look at my hippy looking husband and decided he didn't want us camping there. It wasn't because our camper is old, there were older ones (see pictures), it was just my husband. Here's the campground review: this is an RV park, built for big rigs. Each site has a covered patio area, a picnic table and full hook ups. There is adequate space between the sites, room for the largest rigs and tow vehicles. There is one washroom, with laundry and shower (kind of weird with curtains and no area to lay a bag or clothes) facilities and a storm cellar. The roads are wide allowing for turns without running over the grass. This campground would be rated a high 4 or a 5 if not for the employee at the beginning of this story.
