Awful, horrendous. The phone system has no clear path to get someone in person. The billing system is not up to date with my correct address. The e-statement I receive does not match the billing information in the app/website under my account. I can't change the name on my account, which I inherited from someone in college, so my name is not the one on the account. They have told me they cannot change it or cancel this account - they say I will have to use another email to make a new account. Their inability to help you in any way is astonishing. I would pick any other company for gas service if I could. -100 stars out of five. Do not recommend. Save yourself. *Update - have them call you via "call back". Jessica was great. Kansas gas company refuses to fix my house whene they moved the meter. Theres multiple pieces of siding that they broke off when they moved it and Installed on the side of my house. Its obvious as its right there in spot the moved it too and they then spray painted over the damage to cover it up and they refuse to repair it . If I could leave zero stars I would. Not surprised they have one star everywhere. First let me say, THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR FAMILIES! THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEIR POCKETS!! This is the third time I've been disconnected without notice. Time they even admitted to calling incorrect number on the account but not trying my actual phone number. I've been alone for two years for them to take the other phone number off. I never received a door tag, email, voicemail, letter in the mail etc. They said theu tried a "knock to collect" which means someone knocks on your door to notify you of potential disconnect, then the next person I spoke to said they don't do that. I now have paid my bill and they won't turn it on for 5 days because their techs are "completely booked" but on a regular basis you see Kansas gas truck sitting on the side of the road with the tech playing in the phone for an hour or two at a time. I have 4 children and it will be under 35 degrees at night and Kansas Gas fully knows this yet refuses to expedite reconnection even though they admitted fault as to incorrect contact. Everyone in customer support was extremely rude and robotic besides one older lady who got in trouble for siding with me against her supervisor. Not a single executive of Kansas Gas cares about human beings other than themselves and their pockets. A multi billion dollar company that can't call the correct number nor even TRY the other phone number (the correct one) on the account. They like to say "our records show" or "we understand" only when it's convenient to them. I've had entire phonecalls be removed from their logs for their convenience. I'm in a major city in Kansas and claim there is no techs in my area yet as they are saying that I'm watching a Kansas Gas Service truck drive by my house. Their charity is only for tax write offs, not because they care about their community. And it will never change. I've even been mocked when I've asked for assistance and told "you're a man asking for financial assistance?" Nothing will change either. Which I could give a 0 - months of January and February were a total of $600 on my bill... Previous bills have only been in the 100s. They came and fixed a main leak in my yard including the meter and pipes going to meter and the cost immediately went down. They said that there's no correlation at all and that I'm responsible for the charge. Charging $600 for two months to a single mom is diabolical. Kansas gas service. You are awful to deal with. I've called up to 12 times the last month and didn't get a call back from any supervisor even though I was promised probably six or seven times... Until today I finally got a call back because I escalated the situation above Kansas gas. Do better. We have no other choice but to use this godawful company. So aggravating. read more

The billing department of Kansas Gas must be the most incompetent I have encountered in my 50 years in business. I have spent hours on the phone each month and each bill is incorrect. The person on the phone states that they cannot transfer me to a manager to resolve. I would fire all the managers and start over. I would reject every rate increase until the billing department gets competent employees. read more

Apparently they worked on my gas meter for a few months. In February I had a $298 credit and then in April I got a bill for $150 and a week later a bill for $398. When I called about the bill I was informed they couldn't send a bill out due to working on meter. So Im to assume it was all prorated! I had no idea they were working on the meter I could have been paying something!! But now I have a $400 bill. They could have sent a letter out informing me of all this! Emergency service not attended to and no call. Technician left in middle of talking to us and said needs another new order to come back and he didn't have a phone number for us. Customer service apparently never gave contact phone number to technician despite many times telling them to do the same and falsely blaming us for not responding to technician. Over 6 hrs now!!! Our contractor tried to shut off the main gas valve outside so he could remove the gas pipe inside the house to make way to get the old water heater out, but the outside valve was so old it got stuck. Called Kansas Gas Service and they sent out two techs within the hour and had the whole part replaced. Now we got a brand new valve and our contractor can freely shut it off and turn it back on. It was a great experience with Kansas Gas Service. read more

Was told over the automated system I had to pay $350 to get service turned back on. AS said that the reps were trained to say the same thing making it seem like there's no reason to get a rep and making it nearly impossible to actually get a rep. With my app through KERA I was told that when they spoke with KGS they said I DID qualify for a payment arrangement. Went 2 weeks with no gas/hot water bc of wrong info through automated system. Rep sat up an appointment for the next day. I told her I'd make the payment of $27 as soon as I got some cash on a card. Made the payment at 12:30pm. Sat around all day, was suppose to be at work at 445. By 5pm I called to see what was going on and the tech apparently cancelled my appointment bc I didn't make the payment in time. No calls, no emails, no notification it was cancelled. Sat up another appointment and told them 8-10am would be best bc I have those rescheduled appointments and I also work. Ended up having to cancel AGAIN and switching my shifts around. Called at 230 and the tech said oh I thought you were only available from 8-10am. If you KNEW that then why did you not come then?! Tech finally comes and then bangs on my door and demands to come inside. I told him the rep said nobody would be in my house. He said that it is company policy and if I didn't let him in he'd turn my gas back off. I said fine, however my house is a mess, kitchen dishes are completely piled up and my dog who had surgery on his stomach just made a mess through the house I was in the middle of cleaning up but by all means make yourself at home. The reps need to give ACCURATE information. The automated system needs to be sat up better, I could've had service on 2 weeks ago. The techs need to CALL when they cancel an appointment and have a little more customer service skills instead of demanding and completely rude. Poor customer service, I called in Kansas Gas just to check if my gas is on to verify if the revert to owner took place since I live in Hawaii and my property manager informed me that there is no heat nor electricity. So the representative said it is on and she will be sending someone to check it out and if there is no one at the site they will shut the line off with no time line when they are coming or what not. So I tried to call KS gas back to clear the misunderstanding and re-inform them the scenario but thy cannot stop the process anymore. After 10 mins. got a phone call from the Kansas tech stating he is on site and that no one is there. I informed him that I called Kansas gas to inform them that my property manager is 1hr away and he said "I do not care I am here now, you need to have someone to come over here now". So I said I do apologize I am in Hawaii and my property manager is 1hr away it is not my fault that your call center misunderstood what I ask and submitted an emergency report. Very Poor billing practices! 3 months after calling to turn off gas and settle bill still receiving bills in error.

Extremely poor customer service. I changed emails a couple months ago and updated my email with KGS. I never received a bill and my gas was shut off. I called KGS to pay my bill and followed the prompts and was transferred to a third party who was not able to help me, they transferred me back to the main line which would have transferred me back to the third party had I followed the prompts. I was finally able to speak with an actual KGS employee who was barely helpful and argumentative and who told me she was unable to take my payment, who then transferred me back to the third party. On top of all of that I was on the phone with these people for over half an hour, most of it waiting on hold. read more
