We're so glad we chose Kanteen to cater our Indian wedding. Not only was everything so delicious, but the presentation and service were exceptional. They thoughtfully accommodated a variety of dietary preferences and made sure every dish was made with fresh high-quality ingredients. Leading up to the wedding, Vishwas and Dinesh made numerous helpful suggestions on how to blend our Kannada and Gujarati cuisines so that we can showcase the best of both cultures. We were so proud of the final menu and how it all beautifully came together. Thank you for helping make our day memorable!

Kanteen Catering provided the food for our wedding reception, and they did an incredible job. They provide delicious Indian food which is flavorful and fresh. We also wanted some Taiwanese food on the menu, so Kanteen worked with us to add custom items like popcorn chicken and egg tarts to the menu. Everything - both the Indian and Taiwanese food - tasted and looked great. Their servers were very professional as well. Our guests raved about the food, and it was one of the highlights of the night. The folks who run Kanteen are creative people who think outside of the box of normal wedding catering - highly recommend working with them!

My partner and I are planning a wedding, and as he is Indian, we were hoping to have an Indian caterer. Vishwash and Dinesh are relatively new to the scene, but they are accommodating, intelligent, and creative people. It was really refreshing to see a new comer trying to pay homage to traditional flavors as well as add some tasteful modern flair. As a mixed couple, this was able to impress both of our palettes regardless of familiarity to the flavors. While we have only done a tasting with them so far, they gave us incredibly flavorful food, and lots of it! There were 50+ items to try in total. We had left overs for DAYS, and even recruited family to help us finish. Our multicultural parents also thought the food was delightful. If there is something you specifically want to request, they are happy to modify and accommodate, or even make something completely new for you. I highly recommend check them out! *Stars* indicate our collective favorites! I sent a request via Yelp app and Marsha suggested I send an email. This was on a Sunday and the event was in 2 weeks ! When I didn't hear anything via email or a call I called the office and spoke to Ben who apologized for the lack of communication and he would respond via email, which he did a few hours later. After several emails from Ben we were able to settle on a menu in just a few days! We were looking for a Hawaiian fusion themed menu and Ben & his staffto came up with a great menu. W Some of our many items that was a huge hit with our guests were Vietnamese vegan rolls, miso glazed black code, a toss green salad with Edamame and Asian dressing, crab deviled eggs, scallops spoon, chimichuri steak crostini, short ribs skewers, Asian style lamb meatballs, and dessert of fruit cups and mini cupcakes were perfect. There was a few dishes that wasn't as successful but overall everyone enjoyed the food. We had pre arranged to have someone to meet the catering staff early for setup but due to unknown delays they did show up until an hour before the service started which also ment they were rushed to setup the food but they did a good job to get the hot and cold foods setup before the end of the service. Overall they did a good job and the food excellent but arriving late to the event and poor timing to replenish empty dishes was disappointing also dessert wasn't served until most guest departed. We enjoyed working with Ben and appreciated the communication once it was established.

Safia was quick to respond, provided a menu that was well thought out and incorporated our requirements, and extremely professional. Her staff was efficient and friendly as well. That aside, the food was the hit of the party, even the picky eaters (including children) loved it. Garlic noodles, shrimp, masubi, egg rolls, all of it. Even my Vietnamese dad who forgot his dentures loved the Viet salad goi because he was able to chew it lol. Which is a huge compliment because he never says anything positive. Portion size was generous for a 50 person party and delivery was smooth like butter. Wish I had business cards because everyone asked for contact info. I picked up the tray from San Bruno Market in the Portola District of SF (thank goodness for the parking lot!!). Easy pick-up from a friendly store owner/manager(?). The food is still as good as before. I ordered extra Spam and egg onigiri, but some only came with Spam and no egg; still good, but not *quite* as good!! She also substituted a couple of onigiri for the eggrolls that we don't usually eat, so that's a plus! The tray's presentation was, again, excellent. Garlic noodles were delicious, beef and chicken skewers tender and delectable, cha trung (?) very flavorful, and empanadas yummy! Two of the onigiri are enough for a light lunch, but I tend to eat more than that just because it's so good!!

This was my first time planning a party for 60 people, and I wanted to get it right. I researched a ton of different cuisines, but ultimately came back to City Smoke House because of their flawless track record. Honestly, I wish I hadn't wasted so much time exploring other options because City exceeded even my highest expectations. The party was at a nightclub in the Castro, and the delivery was perfectly on time. The customer service 1000%. They even provided custom cards for each dish so guests knew exactly what they were eating, a small but thoughtful touch that people really appreciated. We ordered brisket, pulled pork, chicken, smoked portobello mushrooms, barbecue sauces, mac & cheese, potato salad, and tossed salad. With an open bar, I didn't expect the food to steal the show, but it did. Friends and family were raving all night, , "Where is this food from?" The next day, my phone was blowing up with texts about the brisket, the mac & cheese, the works. (For the record: I'm extremely picky about mac & cheese, and City nailed it.) My cousin from the Midwest said that the portobello mushrooms were his favorite. The portions were so generous we had enough to host a next-day gathering to enjoy the leftovers, though the mac & cheese disappeared the night of the party so order extra! In a city like San Francisco, where great BBQ is rare, I only wish City Smoke House had a brick-and-mortar location I could frequent. This is a family-owned business that delivers in every possible way, and I'm beyond grateful to them for making my milestone celebration unforgettable. I hope they stay booked and busy. THANK YOU BRIAN and team City Smoke House.

They carry a great variety of Korean dishes, snacks, and marinated meats, basically everything you need. The food from the kitchen is solid and nicely packaged, and the pan-fried kimbap is a must. They also have a wide selection of banchan, which I love. I'm genuinely impressed with how they've maximized the space while keeping it so clean and efficient. I would skip the frozen meats though as they are overpriced. With Safeway closed, this has been such a convenient nearby alternative. I went to the hot food section, conveniently located right at the entrance, and the Korean fried popcorn chicken caught my eye. Then next to it was japchae, one of my favorite noodle dishes. I found my dinner. The crunch on the chicken was addicting! Yet, the breading wasn't thick. The chicken itself was juicy and the glaze was savory and sweet. The japchae was full of veggies, and had a nice umami flavor. The store is small, but they have a lot of items that I can't find close by, like the plant-based beef rice balls. The closest Korean market to me closed, so I'm glad for this one as it's easily accessible by bus and not too far away from my place. I'll be coming back here again soon.
