Every time I walk in to my dining room I remember why I hate Kaoud Rugs. 7-8 years ago we spent thousands on a rug, and when it was delivered it wasn't flat. We were told someone would come by to stretch it, which of course never happened. I called maybe a dozen times-- they just made empty promises. A few years later the owner called and said he found a post-it note in a desk and wanted to know if I ever got service, then promised to have someone come over within the week. Obviously, that never happened. The rest of my house has rugs from Marshalls. They cost a tenth as much and they're all flat! read more

Amazing products and service! Needed a new rug for the living room. I shopped at Macy's and Marshall's first...Macy's had a good sale but couldn't get the rug in the size I needed....The rugs at Marshall's we're shedding, no thanks. Passed Kaoud in West Hartford and decided to give them a try. I should have gone to Kaoud first!! Their prices were the same as the sale prices at Macy's, and had a well-organized floor for shopping. Irina and Avery assisted me, I found 3 gorgeous rugs, and then decided to buy my favorite. Avery and Jordan cut a custom sized pad to place under the rug. Checkout process was very efficient, and Mr. Kaoud gave me very helpful suggestions for how to care for the rug. Avery and Jordan loaded the rug into my car and off I went. I have 2 dogs and a dog door...needless to say my rugs become quite dirty! When one of my dogs threw up on my handmade wool rug and a nasty stain was left I decided to call Kaoud Rugs. Really great experience! Wandered in at 4 PM on a Saturday expecting to purchase 1 or 2 rugs. Christina spent some time with my wife and I to understand our home, our individual design aesthetics and our budget. And, she somehow managed to to identify the overlap in those conflicting requirements. We went through two stacks down stairs and one upstairs and she guided us through the stacks with her phenomenal memory and knowledge of the rugs and guided us to the perfect !!4!! rugs for our home. She isHighly recommended!really insightful, customer focused, personable and would probably make a great therapist. She listens and helps you figure out what you want. And I am certain that we would not have purchased so many great rugs at this time were it not for great insight. And no pressure. She just figured out what would delight us and showed it to us. Meh. They have a great selection of hand-woven rugs. I was scolded for trying to take a picture, because I didn't realize that they are worried about their designs being copied (since the wool rugs are all hand-made, they are all originals). If you are looking for an expensive, one of a kind wool rug, I would stop in, but you will have to have them flip through a giant pile of rugs to try and find something you like. It felt a little weird, like I was inconveniencing them by not liking anything in the first pile. The prices run from the low thousands to the high thousands for these. There are also synthetic rugs hanging on the other side, and even some stainmaster and other carpets that you can have cut and bound to make into area rugs. The pricing for this actually isn't' too bad. It's about the same or a bit cheaper as the big box places, which charge by the linear foot for binding. Overall, I was medium-whelmed by options and by the shopping experience. I will probably stick to crate and barrel and west elm for my next area rug. read more

I am sorry to say that my experience with Kaoud Rugs was disappointing. For starters, I had to pay close to $600 when dropping off my Oriental Bokara runner rug for cleaning and fringe repair. Since when is one required to pay in full up front? A deposit for up to half should be sufficient, especially when they are in possession of your rug. When I picked up the rug, they unrolled it and I looked at it rather quickly, as I was on my way to do several other errands. My mistake. Now that I've had it in my hallway and have been looking at it more closely, I have to say I am very unimpressed with the job that they did on the fringes. Not only are they half (possibly more), the length that they were originally, they are extremely uneven, particularly on one end. I guess I now understand why they have you pay in full up front. A disappointing experience, which I will be sure not to repeat. read more

After my Dad passed away, I didn't think twice about where to bring his rug to have it cleaned. They did a wonderful job and it looks like new again. The service is great. SE was great on the phone - he explained everything to me, and told me about pricing and timing, including the current cleaning promotion. I bought my beautiful oriental five years ago at Kaoud, so it only made sense to me that they do the first cleaning. They arrived on time, I signed the paperwork and were out of the house with my rug in less than 10 minutes. They promised me the rug would be back in time for a party I was having, and that delivery happened exactly as promised. I would trust Kaoud to do this job again in another five years! read more

Very slick sales people trying to hustle and sell. They have good product and plenty of choice but the cost can be very variable. We found the same product 20-30% lower at other retailers (multiple sites/locations) and then we were refused for a return (they did offer store credit but I knew at that point that I was overpaying anyways) read more
