Dr Woodley's front staff are so friendly and caring but thorough and gets answers from frazzled pet owners for the initial consult.

It is with great sadness, I write this review. My previous opinion was a five star. I really…read morebelieved that Dr. Jackie Pickerell was awesome and capable of making decisions for the welfare of our beloved dog, Mochi. Unfortunately, after our dogs illness that happened last week and the lack of care or support, I need to write this review. I am offering this as a cautionary tale; Dr. Jackie use to be on top of her game. However, since her unfortunate accident, and a loss of someone close to her, and a recent emergency call to her on a Sunday afternoon, I write this. After the last visit to Jackie, and a dose of two powerful drugs into our five pound Chihuahua; Mochi began to have diarrhea two days later. We ignored the symptoms until we noticed, she stopped eating, and by Saturday, began to vomit. On Sunday, we called Alii Vet Hospital. Mochi has been a client for over a year now. Dr. Pickerell returned our call from an exciting boat trip whale watching. Rather than refer us to another clinic, she suggested we give our dog pepto-Bismal. This made our dog throw up and by Monday, she was lethargic. Concerned, we called back, left a voicemail and waited for a return call from Aina Ahou; no one called. Dr. Jackie called in sick on Monday, and no one returned our call about our near death, beloved Mochi. Fortunately, we made contact with a hospital in Kona and rushed Mochi there to Alii Vet Hospital. We are sad by the lack of care or concern from Dr. Jackie and her staff; we hold everyone there responsible. Mochi is still; a week in the hospital recovering from her diagnosis of a serious life threatening illness. We wish Jackie well, and that she gets the emotional support needed. All things happen for a reason. Our Mochi is in good hands now, in Kona at Alii Vet Hospital, available 24/7 as an emmergency hospital. Me ke aloha.

We found Aina hou hospital number on the internet and called in with desperation. Dr. Jackie answered the phone and helped us remotely over the phone giving us step by step instruction to treat our pup. It was a very scary experience for us seeing our beloved pup who is normally very active get sick. really appreciate that Dr. Jackie was there for our pup and us. Thank you so much Dr. Jackie.

After Quarantine I had setup a meet and greet with Dr Head at Keauhou Veterinary Hospital, although I had to stay outside on the lanai I was able to have a long discussion with Dr. Head over the phone. One of our fur babies (Rosie) has had a long history of heart disease, sadly a couple of days later she suffered a stroke, I called KVH and even though they had 3 emergencies that morning and Dr. Head was in surgery they got me in. Dr Head called me and explained what had happened and kept her overnight, Rosie died early the next morning and Dr. Head called and took the time to just comfort my husband and I. I can't say enough about how kind the entire staff has been from when I first contacted them from the mainland to now. Thank you so much Keauhou Veterinary Hospital for being there for us in so many ways

I am heartbroken & deeply disappointed by the care my dog received here. I had been going to this…read moreclinic for years because my girl dog was familiar with them, what I thought was trust has now turned into deep regret. She was in clear respiratory distress, yet they failed to take her condition seriously. I was charged over $700 for testing, only to be sent home with her struggling to breathe. She suffered through the night & tragically passed away the very next day. They prioritized having me pay for medications that offered no real help for her condition, medications they likely knew wouldn't make a difference. I notified them she passed, they coldly suggested I just donate the unused meds since there are no refunds, even though the meds were not appropriate for her actual needs. There was no compassion. No accountability. Just a cold dismissive comment that "dogs like her don't live very long anyway." My girl was a member of my family. She deserved to be treated with care, not indifference! I trusted this clinic in a moment of crisis & that trust was betrayed. Pets deserve care rooted in compassion, not upselling & apathy in their final moments. Please take your pet somewhere their life will be treated with the seriousness & compassion it deserves. THIS IS NOT THE PLACE.
