Caution: Machines are not new-user friendly and customer service was not good: Staff was rude when I offered a suggestion to help out other customers. I went to get a new laundry card from the machine but nothing came out after paying. A woman walked in and helped another customer that had the same problem before me. The other customer had told me the same thing happened to him. Nothing was said to me from the staff about it, I ended up pressing the help button on the window and asked the woman after trying the second machine to get a laundry card and getting an error. She said it was because it was a duplicate request. Once the woman gave me a laundry card after messing with the machine and confirming I had paid, I recommended they put a sign on the machine saying that it may have issues with dispensing a new laundry card. She rudely responded that it just happened and that she just got there. She could have simply just said, "Thank you, apologize for the trouble" or something like that instead of giving me attitude. When I went to use the dryer machine, I couldn't figure out how to add more than the minimum time onto it, so I had to ask another customer and you need to swipe the laundry card again to add an additional 5 minutes onto the time. You need to repeat this process over and over again to reach the desired time, mine was about 40 minutes. Seems like a lot of process just to get my clothes dry. Sorry Kapahulu Xpress, you missed the mark this time and I don't believe I will return or recommend this business to others based on my experience. Hopefully this will be a lesson learned to help make the experience better for other customers. read more

They raised the prices on everything so small is now $4, medium $5.50 (both up $0.25) and large up a dollar at $11. They only have three large machines as one is broken. The detergent is up at $2 now. I'm not sure how much it's compared to other laundry mats. read more

Located on Kapahulu next to Papa John's and Onoya Ramen. All 3 businesses share the same parking lot. This is a clean establishment with friendly and helpful customers. I felt safe with my children and appreciate the security cameras. There are lots of helpful signage that explain house rules, how to operate machines, the cost, and how to purchase a wash card. Loved the wash card method because there's no fuss with cash/coins. Wash prices range on load size. $3.75 (1-2 loads), $5.00 (3 loads), and $10 (6 loads). The wash cycle was fairly quick, 20-22min. Dryers are .25 cents per 3min and really large. Last load is at 6pm, machines stop operating after that time. I came after 3pm on a weekday and there was ample parking and not so busy. Ever since the main guy left to open his other location, this place has gone down down down. Maintenance on the machines are few and far between, you can find trash spilling out of the trash cans, floors aren't swept, machines in need of wipe downs daily!!! Ugh!! We were staying nearby and wanted to do laundry during our trip. This was the best rated laundromat in the area and it was a great experience! The machines work well, and the process is easy and can be done by credit card or cash. You can buy detergent, dryer sheets, and other things there. It was also a comfortable environment for us to wait in - the temperature inside was just right, it was very clean, and there are plenty of seats. A few tips (with help from a local): 1) You need to get a laundry card (from the machine on the left wall). It's free and you can load money on it with either card or cash. You can return it at the end so they can continue to use it. 2) You can buy detergent and other things from a vending machine in the far right corner. 3) There are different sizes of washing machines and dryers and they have slightly different costs. 4) You add time to your dryer in 5 min intervals. Came here to help a friend. So here we go... Upon entering 4 large machine in total will welcome you where you can wash your comforter or extra large blankets. The rest of the machines are for medium-size loads like your clothes. There are also benches where you can sit while waiting for your laundry . On each sides, a long table is available for you to fold your clothes (folding area). There are also few carts that you can borrow. As per operation, you need to buy a card where you can load money and turn into credits. This is not a coin-operated machine so don't not bother to carry your heavy pennies with you. The place is clean which I love but too expensive here which at the same time I hate. Lol. And parking is giving me headache ayt. Who knew I would be writing a review about a laundromat. But lo and behold, I needed to wash the cover to my couch, the mats on my floor and the rest of my normal laundry all at one time. My initial thought was to do them at my house, but I realized going somewhere where I can wash my bulky things all at once might be a better idea. This laundromat only takes card. So I didn't have to worry about finding cash or quarters. The machines are very reasonably priced. The location is really clean for a laundromat. I did not feel gross at all. There were no sketchy characters. And the people that were washing, their clothes were very kind and helpful when I was figuring out how to use the dryer. I did a ton of washing that would've taken me days at home for 20 bucks in two hours. A total win. read more

Very clean and spacious Laundromat compared to others I've been too. I also like the pre-paid cards most places still use quarters which is a hassle . This laundromat has bigger washer which is nice to wash big loads also they do have small and medium washers available as well. The large washers is $9.25 the medium washer is $4.25 . It's always clean and maintained. Newer machines and has FOUR large capacity washers and dryers. They also have regular sized ones, too. Indoor with a/c, seating, folding area, sink, vending machine laundry products and paper towels. Would be good if they installed or sell bottled water, maybe at the service counter? The only laundromat I'll go to so far. So clean, and well taken cared of. Rarely is a machine out of order. All machines work, and if it's down, there's a sign, and owner tries to get it fixed right away. There are 3 different size washers, small, medium, and large and 2 different size dryers - large, extra large. They have a sink, if need, rubbish cans, soap/detergent/ softener machine for buy in case you forget. Also no quarters. In order to use the laundry machines, you need a laundry card. Laundry card machine takes cash or card only. Easy to use. Some people have difficulties using the machines. The laundry card machine is touch screen. For the washing machines, you push your card in and pull it back out. Select your setting and push start. Washes a good wash. For the dryers, you have to keep pushing your card in and out, push start, and repeat to increase the minutes. I believe it's 25 cents for 3 minutes. Unfortunately, I don't know what the prices are. Will write a follow up review next time I go, I'll get the prices down. But if you gotta do laundry, in the Waikiki area, Kapahulu Laundromat is the place for go. read more

Kapahulu Xpress Laundromat will definitely be the laundromat I will come to every time I need to wash my comforters and other extra large size bedding and coverings. That is, before I'm able to have a large size washer and dryer. This laundromat is convenient located along Kapahulu Ave, next to Papa Johns and Zippy's, and across the Locations building. There's ample amount of parking stalls (roughly 20 stalls including handicap). What's great about this laundromat is all the washing machines and dryers are new, modern, quick, powerful, and very well kept. All machines are Dexter brand. There are a total of 12 medium capacity washers at a cost of $4.50 per wash. 4 large at $9.25, and 4 small at $3.00. There's also 24 dryers (8 large, 16 medium)! The dryers are 25 cents for 3 minutes. There's no minimum starting time. Sadly, this laundromat doesn't accept quarters! Whaaaattt??? Laundromat and quarters go hand in hand! How this place works is you need to get a (free) Wash Card from the machine and load it with laundry credit. You can pay with credit card or insert cash (bills, no quarters!). You can load however much you want and use it for multiple visits or just load exactly the amount you need. The machine is very easy to use. The only small annoyance is the dryer needing to insert your card multiple times because it's 25 cents per, unless you want to dry only 3 minutes. Inside is super clean and organized. There are chairs and folding tables, but the tables can't be used and the seats can be used, but need to be six feet apart due to Corona. Overall, an excellent laundromat to get your laundry done quickly and at an affordable rate. It does get pretty busy as I'm sure this laundromat is quite popular for other people, but the washes do finish quickly, less than 30 minutes. Another plus is FREE WIFI! WOW WOW WOW!!!! This place is awesome!! I'm sitting here now writing this because I am SO amazed! QUALITY, VALUE AND KINDNESS FROM EVERY EMPLOYEE I INTERACTED WITH! I had SOO much laundry to do. I was overwhelmed and needed larger washers than the ones at our apartment complex. I found this place on yelp. Last wash is at 6pm and last dry is at 6:30pm. Machines are computer operated, so definitely pay attention to these times because you cannot add money after the clock strikes. Each machine takes a laundry card which is so much better than quarters. The laundry card is free and you can pay via cash or swipe a credit or debit card. The single load washing machines at our complex could never beat this quality of clean, PLUS the place is super well kept and cleaned. Our whites are SO white. You need to buy cards to run the machines. Most machines work well. A couple of the dryers were duds when I went. The staff will credit you back if you get a bad dryer. Check the heat before you leave. The usual detergent, dryer sheets, and softener available for sale. Tiny parking lot that and the place can get busy at times. This is the best laundromat that I have been to because it has air condition, wifi, benches to sit, and a large amount of washers and dryers. Needed to do some laundry while on vacation. Clean facility. Provided cleaning spray and cloth to wipe down folding areas. Had some issues getting money put on the required refillable card that you get from the vending machine, but the attendant was helpful. Would have given it 5 stars but when I needed to add money to the card The machine would not recognize my card and would not add money. Attendant had left the facility and had not seen her for more than 30 minutes maybe almost an hour. I called the phone number and no one picked up. Others had issues with the machine too. If you have any issues there is a phone number to call for help that is clearly listed - that's super nice because l if the machine breaks down with your clothes inside at other places it can be a NIGHTMARE trying to contact the owner for help. Its card only so I couldn't use my quarters I brought lol. Theres 3 types of washers based on size capacity and 2 sizes of dryers. We used the medium washer which was $4.50. The regular size dryer was .25 cents for 4 minutes. Had to do some major math in my head to guess how much money to load. Then you have to hope you didn't pay too much because you will lose the card before you get to use it a second time... along with the money on it. They don't have a single coin/cash/or credit card washer or dryer. They also lack enough dryers for all the washers they have. The dryers are VERY expensive $0.50 for only 5 min! And the parking. There is probably one parking spot for every 8 washers they have. And those spots are shared with 4 other businesses, including the busiest Papa John's in Honolulu. This is a really good laundromat. It's a very clean space and I didn't notice a single machine that was out of order, which is unusual. They have washers with small/medium/large capacity, and a wall full of dryers. The washers are clean and get the job done quickly. They do a great job keeping the place clean; someone was walking around continuously with a dustpan and broom making sure that no trash or powdered soap was left on the floor. You purchase a card using cash or credit, so no need the break open the kid's piggy bank or rest your hopes on the mercy of a dollar changer to make sure you have enough quarters. Two Words: NEVER AGAIN! I have frequented this laundromat off and on for the past year ZERO interaction between owners or staff. Let me preface this review by saying this review is mainly based upon service and my only issue with the actual facility is the lack of effective dryers based on the overall cost. The owner(s) of this establishment clearly have personal prejudices and biases towards non-Asians and the display I witnessed of out and out discrimination was beyond disgusting and disappointing. The incident occurred about 90 minutes before closing and it was fairly empty so when a few individuals entered to begin their loads - side note: earlier a few of the people including myself had to call upon the attendant to clear out dryers. The attendant/owner was sweeping when the "latecomers" arrived and all without incident until someone entered and I began to hear a commotion. I turned to look and the attendant/owner was standing over a male who appeared "socially acceptable" in dress and hygiene (unlike some of the earlier customers) the only difference is this male had a fairly dark complexion (such as myself). The attendant/owner began aggressively questioning this male about if he was washing clothes - which seemed off as he had a basket of clothes sitting beside him. The male replied "yes" and added that "he was waiting on his friend " to which the attendant/owner yelled "you can wait outside!" Now this immediately has my 'spidey-senses' tingly and I began to take note of what was happening "just in case" - the male calmly cursed the laundromat and said "he will never come back here again" to which the attendant/owner immediately laughed and responded "good, get out or I will call the police!" He has his phone to his ear at this point. I was floored at this point and expressed my disdain non-verbally because let's be honest it is too easy to be murdered in this country when breaking zero laws as a person who presents with dark skin! The situation continued to escalate and now it is a cursing match and threats are being hurled - like truly ridiculous and uncalled for - because this was fully avoidable. The male leaves...it's all over right? No, the attendant/owner begins to apologize to the other person for almost five minutes who was present and washing their clothes as if she was the one who had been mistreated and as if he was not the one who instigated the entire thing! I was truly flabbergasted but what took the cake was when he tried to approach me and I gave him a look that had the potential to kill, shook my head, grabbed my items and walked out saying "NEVER AGAIN" Choose Wisely! #LiveBeHappy *no comments or replies needed* read more

Laundromat facility was clean, safe, and reasonably priced. To use the machines, you purchase a laundry card, load money with either with your debit or credit card ( JCB, AMEX, VISA, Mastercard) and use this card to run the washer and dryers. Dryers load 3 minutes at a time for 25cents so I had to repeatedly punch in the card to add more dryer time at once. Washers come in small (2 load), $4.75 medium (3 load) and $9.75 large (6 load) and the machines themselves were clean. Laundry came out clean. Only negative is there is NOT a lot of parking so finding a space for your car will be a challenge. Overall, a good place. read more
