I had not done any dry cleaning in the past so when doing my research, Aloha Dry Cleaners at Ala Moana Center was among the first businesses that popped up so I figured I should give them a try. Brought in 2 blazers that I found at Savers recently and need to have for an upcoming wedding in the fall. The standard rate is $15.00 per item (which is pretty reasonable) and the turnaround time is usually 3 days. You will be asked to pre-pay prior to dropping off the items. Took two coats for dry cleaning recently. When I received them, there was a distinct chlorine like smell. Touching the coats felt slippery and made my hand itch. This didn't happen last year when I used their services. I do not recommend coming here. read more

Without going to specifics, I dropped off a mix of items (dress shirts, suits, and pleated trousers), totaling about 8. I paid just under $100 for the full prepaid service. I only requested for the standard dry cleaning. When I retrieved my garments, unfortunately , I found stains still present on some of the items and they were wrinkled. Most disappointing was discovering that none of the creases on my suit trousers and suit-separate trousers were pressed correctly. To loosely quote another review left for this establishment: they managed to remove existing creases and press new creases where they did not previously exist. The front creases did not line up with the pleats that are a fixture on all of my trousers. One more disappointing discovery was that they had managed to break ALL of the buttons on one of my trousers, including the replacement buttons attached to an inside tag. The Manager, Isaac who is professional and accommodating, offered to take my trousers and shirt back to redo free of charge. On this second service the stains were definitely gone, as were the wrinkles, however none of the creases on my trousers were pressed correctly yet again despite Isaac leaving specific instructions for the cleaners to provide extra care to this area. As I discussed with Isaac, I expected a dry cleaner to be able to perform the most basic and standard action of pressing trousers, but it's really no one's fault but my own for expecting Hawai'i to be able to perform to that standard. On a more positive note, I was able to procure the exact button replacement for my trouser with the broken buttons by personally flying to Japan and receiving them from the owner of the brand after meeting with him in person. Isaac offered to sew the button back on free of charge. I'd like to end on one more positive note and that would be the fact that all of the staff I had the pleasure of meeting throughout this process were all decent people who gave me the warmest possible local service and truly embodied the spirit of Aloha befitting of the business's name. Aloha Dry Cleaner's customer service was something I have absolutely nothing but the best to say about. TL;DR: I encountered disappointingly low quality of work but worked with great people. read more

I hardly dry clean anything anymore but I had occasion to clean a couple of suit jackets. you definitely cannot wash those at home. I dropped off the jackets. Drop off was quick and friendly. I got a ticket and was told to pay when I pick the jackets up. I picked up the jackets a few days later and service was quick. No issues at all and the jackets are now clean! It's the same business that used to be off of ward in Kakaako. We hadn't realized they reopened until we were looking after Al Phillips stunk up the hub's shirts and saw there was another dry cleaners in the mall! Friendly service and professional and clean especially compared to Al Phillips. It's near Jejubing and challenging to find parking in that area. So the best place to park is ground level which actually feels like a scary murder basement and smells like trash. But plenty of spots and park right next to the incline escalator and maybe don't go alone. This will be our regular place from now on to get his shirts laundered. read more

Their customer service and prices are reasonable. Turn around for dry cleaning is fast. And location is conveniently in the ground floor of Ala Moana Shopping Center, makai side. HOWEVER, 2 STARS because I had a silk skirt dry cleaned and had it return with safety pins stuck through each side of it to hold it up against their disposable hangers. I have NEVER seen dry cleaned clothes poked with safety pins to the hanger. I was appalled, especially because the material is silk. I had my wedding dress dry cleaned here before my wedding and I was pleasantly surprised at how great my experience was. I get the 5-star rating for this place. Got 7 pairs of business slacks altered, brought them in and got charged extra for the special stitching on two of the slacks due to their wide-legged style. Everything else turned out fine except two, which I should've known when I went in to pick up my order. The stitching was loose and messy on the inside with extra strands and wads of string intertwined with the stitching. It has only been the second use for both slacks and it has unraveled about 90%. Don't get me wrong: the tailor/seamster was really nice, knowledgeable, and completed my huge order on time. However, for the price I paid, only for the stitching to almost completely unravel after a few uses, that was very disappointing for my first time using their services. read more

Buwahahahaha), and since Caesars Cleaners is no longer in business, I found this other dry cleaning store called - "Aloha Dry Cleaners & Laundry" from looking on Yelp. :D Thanks to my Yelp buddy - Terry K., as she was the very first person who posted an awesome reviewed this place, and since then, I can see why many more folks that have reviewed this wonderful business! Easy to find, as this dry cleaner shop is located just across the street from the old First Hawaiian Bank (Ward Branch - which had recently closed up). There are a few free parking spaces in front of the shop, but if the lot is full, there is ample street parking near by. Coming there was easy, I just walked in & dropped off my coat, and the friendly clerk gave me a ticket showing the cost for the services needed for my coat, and the date on when I could pick it up again. The turn around time was pretty fast, and when I got my coat back , I must say they did a excellent job on my coat. PLEASE NOTE: Yesterday when I was picking up my coat, the friendly clerk told me that Aloha Dry Cleaners will be closing down this location at the end of June 2022. The reason why, is because the developer corporation - Howard Hughes will be knocking down the building where Aloha Dry Cleaners is located to build another one of their large scale buildings in the Kaka'ako neighborhood...... I was told by the clerk that they will be opening a "temporary" location at Ala Moana, until they find a new location for their store in town. Just follow them through FB, or Instagram? This company was an absolute life saver. I washed 3 of my favorite shirts along with two light colored t-shirts with a blue pen... one of the nice roller ball types that general bleed out for no reason anyway. 5 shirts in total, some worse than others but all generally in the ruined category. The attached photos barely show the damage but I can assure you I had little to no hope. I picked up my laundry today and they are miracle workers. 3 out of 5 have zero to no residual ink (miracle) and the other two are hardly noticeable. I've been using the same dry cleaners for about 2 decades now and I've noticed quality has gone downhill so I went on Yelp to try someone new. Aloha Dry Cleaners And Laundry popped up with a ton of great reviews so I decided to give them a try. They are not as close to me as the other dry cleaners but they are conveniently located in Ala Moana Center on the ground floor (near the GNC, Goma Tei Ramen and Satellite City Hall side for those curious). I came in on a Friday and they told me I could pick up by Tuesday of the next week which was a quick turnaround. Unfortunately something came up that week which was urgent so I wasn't able to pick up my dry cleaning till the week after. When you first visit, they gather some of your information to enter you into their system. Customer service was extremely friendly and you have the option to pay when you drop off or pick up. I opted to pay when I dropped off and utilized the Yelp check in discount of 5% off the bill. For 8 pieces (7 slacks and 1 blazer/jacket), it was only $69.24 after discount (March 2024). When I finally picked up my dry cleaning, I was happy with their services and would recommend them to anyone looking for dry cleaning. A wave splashed my wedding dress at the end of my photoshoot so I wanted to get it cleaned right away. It was just a little wet with some dirtiness at the bottom but I was flying to Maui the next day and didn't want to bring it onto the plane like that. I immediately called Aloha Dry Cleaners and Laundry because of all the good reviews on Yelp. Though they were going to close in an hour, they said they were able to take my dress and return it before I returned to the mainland in about a week. Once I got to the store, which is located in a super convenient location at the Ala Moana Center, the staff checked my dress and once again confirmed that they can clean it in the given time frame. He also mentioned that the product they will use for the cleaning might remove a good amount of the sparkles on the dress. I was a little worried about that but decided that I could always add more sparkles after. He charged me $200 for my item. I left the store thinking that I left the dress in good hands. However, when I checked the dress upon pickup, I noticed there was a twig and a big beige stain at the bottom of the dress. The same worker plucked off the twig and said a twig or two left in the dress is normal. Maybe, but when I got back home, I found a HANDFUL of twigs still stuck in the dress. Is that still normal? Was there no quality control performed? As for the stain, the worker said it's probably permanent... The possibility of the dress having a permanent stain was NEVER relayed to me when I first brought my dress in. If I knew, I wouldn't have paid $200 to get it cleaned. I would've just waited until I returned to NYC. The worker basically took no responsibility for the mediocre cleaning, so I left the store feeling disappointed. Not to mention, I later discovered that there were actually MULTIPLE "permanent" stains on the dress and not just the one that I saw upon pickup. I still have to rewear the dress in June, so once I got back to NYC, I researched ways to clean the dress myself. Oxiclean Versatile Stain Remover surprisingly did the job!! And I did it within a few hours... So I technically could've just saved the $200 and cleaned it myself. Afterward, I sent the business a complaint through the quote request feature on Yelp so that I could include photos. And it has been crickets on their end. read more

Thought it was a good deal for dry cleaning, but turns out it was too good to be true. Received my cream colored suit set back with additional stains than I even came in to begin with. I received my blazer with pen marks and the cream pants with the same stain as if it were never washed. I came back to inform them about this, they took the suit set back informing me I could come in the following day to pick it up. Came back and it was not worked on nor was it back. Had I known that they would not fulfill the promise of next day completion, I would've never allowed them to take it back in the first place. Someone said hello as soon as I walked in the door, which was very welcoming as it was my first time in the store. The alterations expert was happy to allow me time to put the dress on so that he could carefully mark where the new hem would go. 2-week turn around estimated but it sounded like someone is out sick and this is abnormally long for them. I don't have items to dry clean often but when I do I like taking them to Aloha Dry Cleaners. I feel like they take the time to inspect the garment and are knowledgeable about care. I like that they check the fabric care tags on my clothes when I'm dropping off to ensure they can complete the service in accordance to the instructions. On more than one occasion I've brought items in without reading the tags at home and at the store they've advised me against dry cleaning, instead of taking the business and running the clothes through the cleaning anyway. I've also brought an item in to be repaired and the adjustment was so quick and minor they did it for free while I was there. Awful experience, clothes ended up with more wrinkles after cleaning than when I dropped them off. Poor attention to detail and would avoid taking any clothes of value to them as they obviously are too lazy to set up the clothing properly in the press before pressing the button. Surprised they were able to even get the center crease right considering they managed to create pleats where there were none and press out the pleats already sewn into the garment. Joke of a dry cleaner and joke of a business. My family and I received exemplary customer service from this business. They truly have the spirit of Aloha! My review is going to be an emotional one, don't say I didn't forewarn you. Here's the backstory: My father-in-law recently passed away, he served in the military and was drafted for the Vietnam war when he was 18. Although, the war ended before he was actually deployed to Vietnam, he served for 20 years, retired, became a civil servant, and finally retired from work. He was so proud to be a US Veteran and spoke about it often. He even kept his old uniforms. We wanted to honor him by celebrating his life with a military funeral service and suite him up in his uniform. Unfortunately, his uniform was in storage with stains and in less than perfect condition. The problem: My in-law's live in Hawaii and I currently live in Las Vegas. My sister-in-law was doing almost ALL of the footwork with getting his estate and liabilities settled including planning and coordinating the funeral services, supporting her own family, comforting her grieving mother, and of course her own grieving. On the other side of the pond, I felt useless. Getting a new uniform would have been a really expensive cost to add on to the growing list of other costs we were tallying and so I looked to my trusty Yelp app to find a local Oahu, Hawaii business that could give us a quote. I wanted to see if it would be cheaper to get it cleaned versus purchase another one. Action: I used the "Request a Quote" feature after searching for "Dry Cleaners" near Honolulu. I told my story, sharing that we wanted to honor my father-in-law and how we needed a military uniform to get cleaned up to military specifications. So we needed a business that was experienced with military uniforms. The request was sent to four dry cleaners including Aloha Dry Cleaners. Not too long after, I received a response from one of their managers inviting us to visit their Kapahulu location and a quote. I waited for responses from others, some never responded and one ended up declining my "project". In the evening I received a call from the owner himself! He was informed of our story and very sympathetic. I mentioned that our family in Oahu lived on the Leeward side and he offered the dry cleaning service at his Waipahu factory location instead! Results: They quoted us a hands down better cost than it would be to purchase a new uniform so we went with it! My sister-in-law dropped off the uniform several days after I spoke to Mr. Kim. The turn around time was two days and I was able to pay by phone. The customer service representative I spoke with was very friendly as well. I attached the before and after photos. They helped me with my own need to grieve and be useful to serve my father-in-law a last time. Needless to say, we were very pleased with their service. Missing my knickers! Took four pieces and was told to return a few days later. During pickup, I checked and saw that a belt was missing as well as linen pants. Belt was hanging on a separate hanger in the back without a plastic. Still wrinkled which makes me question if it was even cleaned. Anywho, pants are no where to be seen. After a five minute search the guy says for me to return the next day after 4:30pm and discounts the entire ticket so I don't pay for the pants. Yes, I return the next day after 430 and learn pants are not there. Another ten minute search with workers loading up the dumpster and a van as the entire shop is moving.
