I honestly researched very heavily into dry cleaners in Hawai'i and ultimately decided to go with Marie Louie Cleaners. They are right next to my favorite cafe, fishcake. The process was very short and sweet, I told them what I needed to be cleaned and they sent it off right away. I got a call a few days later and picked it up, stains were gone and everything looked perfect! It was $15 for each piece which is a pretty reasonable ask as well for the work they've done. My stains were quite small though, I'm not too sure about how they do with more serious stains. Great overall though! read more

This place is extremely shady. When you drop off something to have dry cleaned, they don't tell you how much it will cost. They give you a small ticket but it doesn't have a price. This essentially gives them a blank check to charge you whatever they want, and trust me, they take full advantage of this. Superb dry cleaner. I had a super delicate dress from one of the bridal shops that didn't clean the dress well. In comes Marie Louise cleaners with their knowledgeable and honest staff. They didn't make any promises to be able to get my stains out, just said they would do the best they could. And boy, did they get about 85% of the stains out and in the most noticeable places of my dress. It literally looked like new when they got done with it. Who ever said finding a good dry cleaner is easy should have their head examined. There are probably 1/2 a dozen dry cleaning companies in town and Marie Louise Cleaners is one of them. I am guessing they specialize in taking care of formal attire (wedding dresses, prom dresses, designer suits and the like) but they do handle normal clothes too. I've had multiple bad experiences with Hakuyosha Dry Cleaners so came here for a relatively simple job, pants pressing. However, my trousers are atypical with this one in particular made of cotton in the gurkha style with double forward pleats and turnups (cuffs) at the bottom. I'm very happy with the work, price (~$10), and turnaround time. A nice touch of service was that they also fixed a broken button on my waistband, which I called out upon dropping off and provided the replacement. Marie Louise has earned my confidence. In the near future, I think I feel comfortable enough to let them handle some of my more delicate mulberry silk and baby alpaca pieces. Stay tuned! read more

Had to have a dress cleaned twice as the first time they didn't actually clean it; they just pressed it. I asked about the stain I had on it and that it wasn't removed and they said that's a different cleaning process/soaking. I'm like what did I pay for? This was recommended by my wedding planner, Karisa, when I came home and needed dry cleaning for my wedding dress in a pinch. Right after I landed at HNL, my Daddy drove me here to get it done. I arrived on a Wednesday and needed the dress ready for the BIG DAY on Friday. I must've looked a little crazed and panicked, coming off the airplane and all with my half mainland/half Hawaii attire, but the ladies at Marie Louise Cleaners were super calm, took my dress and veil, and got me sorted out. I was able to pay upfront and breathe a little easier (and then go change into shorts before I overheated). I sent my brother to pick up the dress on Friday and he had no problem at all! And yes, the dress was gorgeous and super beautiful for the BIG DAY. In fact, when I was looking to get it cleaned and preserved, I asked Karisa again for recommendations. I managed to have my wedding right before lockdown in March 2020 and only recently (June 2021) did I remember, oh yeah, gotta get it cleaned and all that. I have several one-of-a-kind outfits from local designer, Anne Namba, that are made from vintage kimono or obi silk fabric. Usually, I take them into another local dry cleaners but this one particular garment is off-white and had brown spots caused by mildew damage, common to Hawaii. I took the garment to my usual cleaners but they refused service because they couldn't/wouldn't guarantee results. So, I decided to call Anne Namba's studio for a dry cleaner recommendation. They said "take your garment to Marie Louise..they're excellent and even Anne Namba uses them personally". Hearing directly from the designer's staff put me at ease and I quickly brought my garment in. When I entered the shop, I was greeted cheerfully and professionally. I showed the receptionist the garment and she warned me that they could attempt to remove the stains but it would cost a bit more AND no guarantee that all could cleaned off. She gave me a quote which I felt was fair and not overly expensive considering the fact that nowadays, dry cleaning is expensive! The garment had cost me several hundred dollars so I decided to take a chance. I left the garment, crossed my fingers and had hopes because Marie Louise accepted the challenge. A week later, I picked up my garment...alas, the stains were still there but lighter! They did their best, but, mildew stains on silk is very difficult, if not impossible to remove. My understanding of this and expectations were aligned! Service and care for my climate-damaged garment was friendly, professional and reasonable. They advised me that the drapes could react against the cleaning process because of the age of them. I had to sign a waiver which was understandable. They called me a week later to pick them up. I've been a former customer of Caesars and Al Phillips. Basically got tired of the service at both those places and was referred to Marie Louise by a friend. I was a former customer when they were near Piikoi Street but for convenience moved to Caesars off of Ward. Caesars got sold and I didn't like the new owner so I had been on a hunt for a new dry cleaner. Marie has since moved to this location and it was just a block away from my old Caesars place. Love how they do everything in house at this location. It's so big and spacious even though you're there for just a few minutes. I love how they do all my uniforms and my regular dry cleaning items. Service is always friendly and you'll leave with at least with two thank you'd at every visit! Very pleasant to have these types of businesses in Hawai'i. GREAT SERVICE Came to the island packed with luggage and my dress for the wedding got crumpled and had a weird suitcase small (damn this island humidity). This cleaners wasn't too far from the condo and it had great yelp reviews. I asked them if it could be a rush service and will need it before the day of the wedding and they graciously accommodated my request. I never use dry cleaners but my pink Versace hat got dropped A bunch at Scarlet and had the scarlet crud on it and they were able to get it all out. A previous review says they crushed his hats but I got it back in perfect form, and it even had paper stuffed into it to keep its shape. 10/10 would recommend. read more

I called them on a Thursday about getting my wedding dress pressed before Monday. They told me they could do it overnight, gave me pricing on the phone, and let me know what time they closed. I came in Friday morning at opening and my dress was ready the same day! It was amazing to not have to stress about it, and they were so friendly. I was in a bind and needed my clothes washed and folded in a hurry and they were able to accommodate. Love these guys!

I brought 4 pieces in to be cleaned. Three of the four had a few stains (mainly alcohol stains). Well I brought in the items to be cleaned and pointed out every single stain on every piece of clothing. They were marked with yellow tape. Well I came to pick up my clothes today and the cashier informs me that they were unable to remove the stains from one of my tops. I check it out and it looks like they didn't even clean it. Well then I start examining the other two pieces and all the stains I had pointed out were still there. Did they even clean these tops!?! I'll post pictures so you can see the terrible job. At the end of this ordeal I had to Pay full price for all pieces. It ended up costing me $32.09 for a terrible job that's going to result in me donating 3 of the 4 pieces to goodwill. After my thanksgiving weekend wedding, I knew dry cleaning my gown was on my to-do list (along with thank you cards that still remain unfinished- eek!). I also wanted to preserve it, just incase I decide to donate it later on. Of course I jump on Yelp and find three businesses. One's website linked to Thai weddings and "Thailand wedding guide" (and their number isn't in service). Another did dry cleaning but no preservation. So Marie Louise cleaners it is. I call and they quote me prices starting at $289 plus $25 for beading (which my gown has-- the entire bust area has heavy delicate beadwork). Now that I look back at my receipt, they charged me $300 flat (I think the girl there mentioned some sort of VIP discount?). I also had my wedding gown (second change out dress) and my two dogs dresses that they wore to our wedding (yes, the Man of Honor and the Best Woman escorted them down the aisle). I'm pleased at how the gown preservation came out. They put it in a sealed box which was inside a cardboard box. As for how my wedding gown was dry cleaned: there were still some brown stains at the bottom of the dress but it wasn't as dark as when I dropped it off. I can't speak to the value of my gown cleaning and preservation since I don't know of any other place that does this service. read more

My favorite thing about Marie Louise Cleaners is that they pick up and drop off at my office. It saves me so much time, and I'm all for saving a little bit of gas and not having to sit in more traffic. My company is a VIP group member here so I get those rates, which are considerably more affordable than their retail rates. It's worth the investment, as there's about a 50% price difference for most pieces! You also get a Marie Louise Cleaners bag you can re-use each time -- just remember to slide your business card into the identification tag. I'm always satisfied with their care of standard pieces. I've sent in dresses, work blazers... but I was especially pleased with the detail they put into a few pairs of pants. They ironed pleats in and they've never looked better! The only negative I have is I sent in a heavy sweater once and it came back stretched out. It wasn't ruined, but it definitely wasn't the shape it used to be.
