It was always an "adventure" to drive (I never knew how far I'd get), but Alex kept me going until it was time to change the engine out about 8 years ago. While it was there, he replaced the tent top because he had an extra one that he gifted me. Since Alex replaced the engine, it's run flawlessly. Over time, he's replaced just about everything mechanically and it's held up over time. My bus remains a joy to drive! Alex and his wife Kristen have always been wonderful in the way that they run their business. I took my 1998 BMW 540i to this shop to diagnose a shifting issue where I couldn't get into gear…read more Instead of identifying the actual problem, they told me I needed a new clutch and flywheel, and I ended up paying around $5,000 for the repair. After waiting several weeks, I picked up the car--only to have the exact same issue happen again. When I brought it back, they blamed my E60 short shift kit, even though it's a well-documented OEM+ upgrade that countless E39 owners use without issue. Despite my skepticism, I let them reinstall the stock shift lever, and that did fix the immediate problem--but that only raises more questions. If my original shifting issue wasn't caused by the clutch or flywheel, why did they recommend and charge me for that repair? And if they knew other components were worn (such as shift detents), why didn't they replace them when they already had the transmission down? I even had a conversation with Yanis, where I asked him to clarify how the short shifter could have caused the issue, and he admitted that it was probably due to other worn components. So if they already suspected that, why didn't they address those issues while they had the transmission apart? Now I have to take the car to another shop, which will charge me around $1,500 to replace the detents--when it could have been done for $200-$400 while the transmission was already out. Beyond the cost, this was a huge inconvenience--multiple trips, long waits, and extra money spent, all because the real issue wasn't properly diagnosed the first time. I understand that diagnosing transmission issues can be complex, but at this price point, I expected better attention to detail. This shop clearly has some knowledge of German cars, but their diagnostic process is flawed, and they don't take responsibility for bad recommendations. At the very least, I would have appreciated some acknowledgment of the misdiagnosis or an offer to help make things right.

We were visiting the Cape for a Wedding weekend and had a "fuel dangerously low" message pop up on…read moreour vehicle about 30 minutes away before booking into our hotel in Chatham, MA on day 1. We had been driving about 5+ hours from New Jersey so getting that message was extremely unsettling being so far away from home..what a way to start our trip! We drive a BMW X6, and after calling several mechanics in the area in desperate need of a last minute oil change, we quickly learned that not many places will work on (or have the filters on hand for) European vehicles. We were lucky to find CJ and MB-Tek via Google search, who managed to fit us in the same day. Even though he was fully booked during business hours, CJ understood that our issue was time-sensitive and drove to our hotel after-hours to fill us with 2 quarts of synthetic oil just to get the truck into driving condition. We then were fortunate enough that MB-Tek offers door-to-door service, and he took the truck back to the shop for a full oil change. We felt very comfortable with the entire process, as all of our communication was via email, complete with invoice detail and backup for all of the work CJ did on the truck. All in all the process took about 2 hours which allowed us to have peace of mind and tend to all of our wedding party responsibilities that day, knowing our truck was in good care. CJ truly saved us and we couldn't be more grateful for his kindness! Not everyone will take time out of their weekend after their shift to help a complete stranger.
