I first met Tommy, the owner, a few weeks ago when I walked in. He welcomed me to his shop and immediately I felt right at home. Tommy and his crew are very professional. I told him I just wanted some beats in my car. He asked me what kind of music I listened to and he suggested a 10 inch sub and amp (JL Audio) for my Nissan Versa Hatchback. He then gave me a pricing...I was very happy with the price. So today I returned and they installed it. It only took just under an hour and a half. During my wait, I was offered to watch TV, specifically Netflix. My wait wasn't even a wait at all, I felt that I was at my friends house chillin' (that's how comfortable Kar Tunz made me feel). I would DEFINITELY come back to do more business. Thank you Tommy and the Kar Tunz crew!! Also, the work is so clean and the quality of their equipment is top notch. They stretch tires here which is a huge plus considering most shops in Pleasanton don't. However they were $40 a wheel which is pricey. They did the job just fine but because of the price I think I'll be looking at another place next time. read more

I did my own installation and had a couple of things that weren't working correctly. They fit me in on short notice, didn't give me any hassle about what was surely an amateur job and helped me get everything squared away and working correctly. Window tints are absolutely perfect. 24" Lexani rims + Toyo's recommended by Rob are stunning. They pulled and painted (red) all four brake calipers and Range Rover logo'd them. Lastly, installed a pedal box. All of this in one day. Solid attention to detail and excellent customer service. These guys rock and I will personally recommend them to anyone. read more

I purchased a set of HID Xenon Bulbs with the slim-line Ballast/igniters that were recommended and ordered by Bryan for my 2008 Mercedes E320 Bluetec Turbodiesel Sedan. They were professionally installed while I waited at their shop last Saturday. The low beams are now more than 3X brighter (Than the stock MB H-7 Halogen Bulbs) and the 6000K Pure White temperature color makes all the difference in the world allowing you to see things much more clearly and providing a safer night time driving experience. They also consume 35% less electricity. Road Signs are now illuminated and driving down a dark unlit road reveals the power and range of a good HID headlight system. I cannot tell the difference between my Xenon HID system and a Mercedes factory HID Xenon system. Bryan was easy to work with and was very knowledgeable about lighting upgrades. I saved a lot of money too as the Xenon HID kit was very reasonably priced. The Ballast/Igniters were mounted on the inside fender well, and the wires, and brackets and wire harness are all neatly secured with wire ties. Very happy with the installation and the light output of this upgrade. My only regret is not getting this upgrade done sooner. Thanks Bryan!. read more

I have nothing but good things to say about Kar Tunz. My fiancé had them put a stereo system (amp, speakers, and satellite CD deck) in his brother's ride back in 2006, and they did an incredible job. And last week, my fiancé brought my 4-Runner in, and I can't even begin to explain how happy I am with their work. My stereo sounds amazing! They did a flawless job, especially considering how bad my ex-husband had hooked up the previous stereo in my car! I enjoy driving my car now, because it sounds so awesome. Came in for a clear bra. Quoted a price, made an appointment was told 4-5 hours. Brought the car for my appointment. Got a call after 5 hours that it was done. Couldn't be more satisfied, they use 3m film so you know it will last. Staff is extremely friendly unlike most car places that talk down to you and make you feel dumb. I decided to install a high end GPS, Bluetooth, Satellite Radio, DVD player (Kenwood), with back up camera. I spent over $1800 to include installation. I had provided them with the printout and pricing from an online company. They said they could match. We made an appointment and I took my car in. I was told there would be a car for me to use while my car was worked on. There was no car, they had a rental car company come pick me up (45 minutes later), then I had to go fill out forms at the rental car agency (45 minutes later) When my car was ready I had to go back to the rental car agency and get checked back in (45 more minutes). Kar Tunz stated I would be reimbursed for the rental but what about my time! ....I was still very excited to be getting the blue tooth and all because I had just received a ticket for talking on my cell phone. When I finally got back to Kar Tunz, I got in my car with the technician and immediately noticed fresh scraches/scrapes right on the top of my dashboard and on the side of the new radio. They were clearly fresh because the scraped pieces were still hanging on! The technician didn't try to deny but the owner didn't want to talk about it! He just wanted me to pay the bill so he could leave for the day. He finally said he would look into a new piece for the dashboard and get back to me on the following Monday. Surprise, NO WORD! A little later realized that they did not install the back up camera that was listed on the print out I provided (it's a small car so I decided this would be fine...) Then, I went to wash my car and when I lifted the mats there was a big black greasy footprint on my carpet! The carpet is beige so it really stood out and it won't clean off!!! I'm not confrontational on these things, so I've decided to buy new mats and a dash cover and get back to life. However, I decided the least I could do was to let the public know to beware!!! I was referred to these guy by eleasereturns (where I bought my car). I was told that they did really high end work. All I needed done was rear back-up sensors. Well, I live in Mountain View and there shop is in Pleasanton. I drove the car home, making the mistake of thinking the sensors where installed properly. As murphy's law would have it, once I got home and did an extensive test, the sensors failed miserably. One side of the sensors kind of worked, and the other side didn't work at all. I immediately called my guy at elasereturns who recommended Car Tunz, and told him my disappointment. He apologized and gave me Car Tunz owners #. I called him and left him a message about my situation. It's been over a week and he still hasn't retuned my call. I guess this is par for the course, given the poor work, why would I expect better service quality. I would never recommend this place to a friend. read more
