Sam at Kara is the best! Friendly, very knowledgeable and such a pleasure to work with. We had beautiful Hunter Douglas wooden verticals installed in our family room & kitchen about 7 years ago. The installers were great! Especially with the long wall of verticals in our family room which was a tricky situation. A few of the plastic vane clips broke in our kitchen 2 weeks ago & Sam had the manufacturer send out a bag of new clips. Apparently, the manufacturer does not make our particular blind anymore yet had some clips of that style. Sam was so nice & responsive on the phone and had the clips sent to us at no charge! We asked Kara to fit 2 automatic shades in our kitchen and Sam helped us out. He was highly responsive and friendly and provided a competitive quote. Sam's company is so wonderful!!! I was searching for shades and didn't know my options and he was so patient with me. I was convinced that I wanted roman woven and cellular sucked. Sam was so patient with me and explained that there are different options than the one inside my mind. First of all... Sams customer service is a step above ALL the rest. He came to measure our windows (and there are 11 large windows and three sliders) while we were still in escrow. To me, that's dedication. Doing the work without knowing he'd get the business due to the fact we didn't even own the house yet. The reviews here are accurate. I called and Sam contacted me the same day. He did an install on my rental. He took the measurements, went over the types of styles I would need for each room, placement of attachments, mounting, pull strings...everything. He then showed me examples of the styles and materials, colors, and linings for each. It took me a few weeks to decide and then I contacted him again. He remembered who I was and the quote I was given. He ordered the shades/blinds for me and they were in a week earlier than he stated. I tried getting quotes from the competitors. The responses were less than stellar. The competitors told me 'order now, I'm going on vacation', quotes 50% more than the quote from Kara, 'we don't do small jobs (5 windows)', 'you have to come by our show-room', 'our hours are limited so try to catch us when we are here', 'I hope you don't need them in a hurry'. He absolutely went above and beyond the ordinary to see that we were completely satisfied with the installation of the blinds we ordered for four of our windows. His first visit was to take measurements and show us samples of both horizontal and vertical blinds. When he sent a quote and we approved, he came back again to verify his original measures. Took a few weeks after that for the custom blinds to be manufactured and then we were notified that they were ready for installation. One of his installers did the job but we saw a few things that still needed attention.
