We moved to a new home in Pacific Palisades a few years ago and had them install blinds for us. High end stuff, really nice. After we suffered extensive damage in the Palisades Fire, despite repeated clear instructions from us to the remediation teams to not touch the blinds, they made every attempt to remove and destroy them. In the past we'd worked with online shade companies that do a few calls with you and send out a random crew for the install. But at Jacoby, you work directly with the Jacoby's and they make sure you get what you need. We did 3 rooms with them. They worked within our budget, but then for the main bedroom they recommended shutters, with automatic blackout shades behind them. This is a solution we would never have gotten to on our own. Cory recommended the right solution and we are delighted. We sleep better and we enjoy the light of the room. They did custom work to make sure everything fit with our air conditioning. Their prices are exorbitant and shocking. I have no clue how they sleep at night charging someone $21,005 for basic sheer curtains for 5 rooms and sun curtains for 2 rooms (excluding curtain hardware). These are simple sheers and sun curtains, not intricate, hand-made, gold threaded exotic curtains for a palace or a chateau. By comparison, it was cheaper for me to put a new roof on my house, install a water heater, complete foundation and structural repairs, and upgrade my electrical panel. Buyer beware. I feel conflicted about giving bad reviews to small businesses but I really feel like Jacoby Company's service is lacking and they seem disorganized. I scheduled a virtual consultation for April 26, and received an email that said "Request Pending." I never received a confirmation, so I rescheduled for 5/3. I received a text from Tricia saying I have two appointments and that I "Can not keep both blocked off," to which I told her the first slot was never confirmed so I'm rescheduling. As a customer, my time is just as important. Strike one. Then during my appointment, I kept getting cut off, interrupted, and talked over and it was just frustrating. Strike two. Following my virtual appointment on 5/3, I was told I'd get a quote next day. It's been over a week and I still haven't received anything. I followed up and didn't hear back. Strike three. I'm really surprised that Jacoby Company has such great reviews and it makes me skeptical. This is why I feel it's important to share my experience. The one-star reviews really resonate with me and remind me of my experience with the company. I don't know if the budget box I checked (on the low end) turned them off and Cory assumed we could not afford them (though I've emphasized numerous times that I don't have a good handle on what shades should cost but I'm willing to pay for quality). I ended up getting a quote from TWO other companies and they came IN PERSON (without charging me $300, which Jacoby would have done), with swatches, so we picked out the fabrics we wanted, and gave us a quote the SAME DAY, during the consultation! EASY PEAZY. Getting a quote should NOT take that long. Though the appointment was 30-min, the consultation was really only 15-min, if that. I felt super rushed and I spent the last 15 min of the appointment time measuring all my windows. The other two consultations were a full hour and I really felt the associates took the time to understand what I was looking for and made recommendations. On top of that, the consultants were the ones who went around and measured everything - not ME. Where's the service from Jacoby? Is there a discount for doing the work myself? In the end, we decided to go with Home Carpet and Window Treatments (Hunter Douglas shades). They told us immediately after our in person consultation what next steps were so we're going to make a trip out to their showroom to finalize our selection! Jacoby Company's level of service just can't compete. If service at this stage is indicative of the service I'll receive later, then NO THANK YOU! Don't want my business - fine with me! read more

I was excited to work with this company after reading the positive reviews on Yelp. However, they turned out to be very disorganized and unprofessional. I talked to an associate on the phone to get a quote and she set up a time and day for a virtual appointment. She said she would send me an email right away with the details about the appointment. Five days went by and I did not receive any email; so I called her again and she finally sent me the email after a week. The email was a questionnaire about what kind of curtains I want, etc, which I filled out prior to the appointment and sent it back. However, I never got a call from them at the time and day they told me they would call, and the next day they texted me that because I hadn't provided rough sizes and photos of my windows, it was my fault they didn't call me. The associate I talked to twice on the phone never mentioned anything about me having to provide sizes and pictures. I would've gladly done so if I had been asked. Needless to say, I am taking my business elsewhere. I would NOT recommend working with this company. They came off as tardy, disorganized, and unprofessional.
