I had my mom use this lady for about a year now, every six weeks. There were a few times that her dog came out great. It ended up being more of a wait and see how he's going to look type of grooming session. The reason it took me a while to post this is because I was going to copy and paste mine and the groomers text conversation, but I did not know if that was against the law. I wanted to show everyone how unprofessional she truly is. As her and I were talking for the last time, she was at work in the middle of grooming a dog. The conversation went on for so long, I mentioned twice that she should get back to the dog and quit ignoring the dog because our conversation went to nonstop text messages. All I can say is thank God I found a groomer who takes notes now and actually wants feedback instead of blaming everything else under the sun. Some people have migraines and are triggered by perfume. That is why the first thing (and a few times after) I would mention ad nauseam, no perfume. The very first time I did not mention it because I did not want to sound like a broken record (every six weeks), she perfumed the heck out of the dog. Like I said, there was about three cuts that were amazing but within those cuts all the other ones were wait to see what you're gonna get and telling my Mom the hair will grow back. The very last cut, I don't know, she must've been very, very distracted after having him for 2 1/2 hours. The dog walker mentioned the very next day when she saw him, what the heck happened to him, who did this to him? His tail, which was long and flowing, looked like it had bangs about 3 inches down. His normal nice looking legs were nicely groomed, but one of them about 3 inches before the leg went into the foot she completely shaved or cut all the fur off with no reason or no explanation. The top of his head, which normally looked like a Q-tip had been cut like a flat top about a 1/2 of inch of hair. I guess that was the last straw because I always made excuses for her because she was so nice to me on the phone. I was still gonna use her believe it or not, (even though my mom said no way in hell, but I knew I could talk her into it) but I did want to speak to her and show her pictures of this cut. That phone call went downhill fast and lasted for about 20 minutes with the phone call and the text messages directly afterward. I realized with her that if you tried to comment about x, y or z, her comeback was always that my mom was picky, and I would agree to placate her. My mom had already made up her mind not to use her anymore (like she had a few times prior) and I would always talk her into using her. Like I said just because she was so nice. I've been in customer service all of my life so I have taught my mom and my family. that tipping EXTREMELY well is crucial especially to your Groomer. No 15 or 20%, no way. They are handling your dog, your most precious possession. So it's not like my mom didn't tip her very, very good. I do think she would be a good groomer for a dog that does not need a haircut or trimming of any kind. Live and learn. I will not put someone's supposed personality over the job they are doing ever again This is in response to the groomers response. My fiancé and I are new to the community. For the longest time, we would make the drive to Orange County to the pet groomers but it was getting to much of a hassle. It was tough trying to find a groomer who not only groomed dogs, but who groomed cats as well. Karen was very friendly and very personable. We have 2 dogs and 2 cats. 1 lab, 1 frenchie and 2 Himalayan cats We had absolutely no complaints with Karen, other than our sincere apologies with one of our kittens. Our youngest cat pumpkin got a little freaked out because she was scared but it didn't stop Karen from performing her job nor did she get angry our upset with her. I heard about Karen from the Placentia Buzz. She was highly recommended. I was in the market for a mobile groomer because my pup gets super nervous about the groomers. I gave Karen a try and was so impressed! I called and made an appointment (be sure to call allowing lots of time, she most likely can't get you in for a week or so). She arrived on time & was very friendly. She and I walked my standard poodle to her mobile trailer. She worked for about 2 hours (the groomers usually take 5) and my dog looked awesome AND was wagging her tail and was happy! Prices were comparable to the groomers. read more
