Had been a client at starstruck for over 5 years. Brought in my two dogs and my dad's dog every 6 weeks. 2 weeks ago made appt for my dad's dog, he is 97 and lives in assisted living facility, Thursday stopped by his place to remind him of appt and he did not recall our conversation 2 days prior and had his dog groomed by someone who comes to the facility and said they could groom his dog . Appt was for Friday at noon, this occurred Thursday evening. Texted starstruck 7pm Thursday notifying them of the situation and canceling the noon appt fri. They replied no worries see you in a few weeks. Had just been there with my dog a week prior to this! About an hour later received text stating they were charging me 38 dollars for canceling and no 24 hr notification. In spite of me being a client for over 5 years and my dad's situation!!! They obviously in addition to being callous, no empathy and no business acumen have no loyalty themselves. Consistently been charged $65 for each dog and always tipped $15 per dog. So they now will never enjoy my business and$$ fir $34. Talk about stepping over a dollar to pick up a penny. She sheds quite a bit, but working with Starstruck, we learned to request the perfect trim, which greatly reduces shedding. I'm very happy we found this place. Been going to petsmart and other groomers for our dogs but either they did a really bad job or the price was so high. Starstruck grooming salon did a really good job on our maltipoo and poodle. They are both looking good, smell great, even after a week. Price is so much more affordable compared to other places. Update after 2 years of using Starstruck: Two years later and my opinion/review is still unchanged! I'm still bringing my 18 pound yorkiepoo here. They are often able to still squeeze me in last minute as my schedule is constantly changing. The staff is always so friendly, the prices have gone up, but are still very affordable compared to other grooming, salons, and they get you in and out much faster than other salons. My appointment time is usually one and a half to two hours for a full grooming with teeth brushing. My dog Kobe leaves so cute and happy each time. We used to have Aylin do his grooming, and she did an amazing job each time! Since she's left, our last visit we had Rachel greet us at the door and Mary Ann do his cut. Initially I had a problem with the way my dogs grooming came out. I told them specifically I didn't want his ears cut at all but because he was matted they ended up cutting it all off. The issue was that their was no communication at all about it because the rest of his haircut did not match his ears as you can see in the picture. She let me bring my dog back a couple days later to get him re-groomed free of charge, which I truly appreciate. Today was our first time at this grooming salon. Been going to the same one for a couple of years with my mini-schnauzer. He was always shaking when we drove up and he recognized the building. The groomer called him a brat the last time I took him and figured she didn't have much patience with him. So I did a lot of searching for another. I looked at mobile groomers and several different grooming shops. I liked what the reviews said -- they had the same experience I did with concern for our sweet Cooper. They have a new groomer that dictates the price they choose. There were once prices at the front desk. NO MORE! I was a long time customer, then suddenly I was charged 100 dollars for a bath and minor tidy of ears and nails and very small area of butt only. Very poor job, and the next day my dog has red ears and cuts inside and discharge. BOTH EARS! They injured my dog and didn't take responsibility for it. Defended themselves and didn't care. My dog is just over 2 years old and inside all the time. We have zero issues with her VET ever. Excellent health record. Starstuck - you should have accepted responsibility and said sorry and fired the groomer that did this and refund my money. I have paid you for more than 20 grooming in past years. Flynn was in need of a groomer being this was his first grooming as a puppy. We were ready to go to petsmart due to Christmas coming so closely but I am so glad we didn't! The staff are extremely friendly, they are super communicative and really care about your four legged friend.
