They have a camp video on their website and it showed the children having an amazing time. That being said, I was disappointed. This camp is expensive and I did not feel I got my money's worth *pay attention to the NO REFUND policy*. My 9yr old was a "junior" and loved Pepperhill. They had activities and swimming scheduled every day. My 12yr old was a "grad" and they are granted more freedom to pick and choose what they want to do during the day because they are older; they also went on field trips. My 12yr old spent most of the day helping the younger campers or doing chores around the camp. As a parent, that didn't upset me because it teaches them responsibility. What did upset me was that I was paying MUCH MORE for my child to do what I felt the counselors should be doing. Now, the tuition for a "grad" is more because they go on field trips (movies, skating) and BIG trips (Holiday World in Indiana), but you are not eligible to attend the BIG trips unless you enroll in all three weeks of the session. Pay attention to this because when I enrolled I was very excited for my child to get a chance to do white water rafting, but because we had a family memorial and did not enroll in one of the weeks, they were not eligible for the BIG trip that session, even though we attended the other two weeks. I will not be sending my children back to this camp based on the fact they are way too expensive and and I did not feel I got my money's worth.

The administration of the center has always been very friendly and empathetic to our situation. It's also one of the lower cost daycare centers in the area so that is a huge plus! The director is definitely somebody who does their best to accomodate the needs of all families.

I was surrounded by people calling themselves Christians - while at the exact same time, I saw them tear down the very ones made in His image. An example of this being my entire class and upperclassmen (with the exception of few), making fun of one girl who struggled with a disability. They made an Instagram "fan page" of her - her profile picture being black snakes coming out of her eyes. I was once told by a staff member that, on another occasion, an entire grade dressed up as one student in order to make fun of her. But, because the staff "could not prove the bullying," they did nothing to stop it. However, I would be lying if I did not say there are some genuinely kind teachers at the school that truly love their students. But, that will most likely not be the takeaway in your child's experience at LCA. In the classroom, things from the Bible are skewed in their teaching. For example, it's taught that if you're anxious, you're not a true Christian. It's taught that if you pray for doctors and nurses, rather than solely God's miracles, you're not truly believing in the power of God. Teachings like these saturate the classroom. There is extremely little diversity, though their deceptive marketing will put a minority poster child on the front page of their website. What I experienced at LCA was truly traumatic to me. If you are considering sending your child there, and they are at all doubting their faith in whatever way, please prayerfully re-consider. I write this review out of deep disturbance and concern for your child's faith.

Most mornings they have a police officer there acting as a crossing guard. They are open-minded, friendly and accepting. They genuinely embrace diversity, of both people and ideas. The worship service is beautiful, the clergy are friendly and energetic, and the actual Church itself is a beautiful "old world" style place that looks like some centuries-old chapel from Europe, complete with stone pillars, stained glass windows ornate wood fixtures and a massive pipe organ. The choir there is practically unearthly in the beauty of their music. I'm quite happy to have found Good Shepherd. I wish I'd known about this place decades ago.
